  1. You can upload LINKS to screen shots. Just upload them to a server, get a shareable link and post it here. When initially adding clips in the bin, right-click and CHANGE ASPECT RATIO if necessary. There are many choices in the drop-down box.
  2. Never see A/R changes in the latest release, version 8.77. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Moved Carleton to an unused area, added the split screen, and he appeared. Moved Jo and Terrence to the same vertical strip and split. They appeared. Hu was among the missing 16 files not included in your partial package, so used Kenny on that track, split it into another box. And he appeared. No other clips were affected. If you export a partial project, then bring it back in to add more content, there is no way that new effects can change A/R of individual boxes in the that clip. It's a composite. Perhaps the quickest method for creating a 5x5 with lowest overhead is to follow Nat's advice in the FAQ above. In essence, compose the left-hand column, in sync, and export. Clear the timeline. Compose what will be the next column - still at the left and in sync - and export. And so on until there are five exported clips, each with a column of five faces. Or even just four columns, if there's a newly built column already on the timelline to which the other four exported clips can be added. Then load them into a new project. Use the POSITION effect to horizontally abut each clip to the right of the prior clip, resulting in five vertical columns side-by-side. A master audio file of all tracks can be created by right-clicking the Sequences tab in the bin, right-clicking the sequence icon and clicking Save Sequence Audio as New File. That single file can be substituted for all others, further lightening the processing load.
  3. Thanks for privately sharing. Very tough, especially with only a partial project, to pick apart the layering. When the Carleton track is split-screened (no Letterbox effect) over other small-box singers, he doesn't appear at any position. However, when he is added to a new track (at top) and split-screened, he is there - at any 5x5 position - with no change in A/R of other images. This using version 8.77. The content you supplied did export successfully at default settings.
  4. Depends. If AVI becomes unavailable, try an UNinstall and there be an option to downgrade to the 'free' version. Can't say why only the older release works on your PC, but the newer one succeeds as well here. Glad it does the job!.
  5. Your license is good for updates within six-months of purchase. And there's no obligation to update. Your version won't expire, and you can always test drive newer releases without charge. This page should help set things right... https://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html
  6. That's too bad. Out of ideas. The project isn't complex. That it succeeds on two PCs here, but not on yours hints at a local problem. Likely won't be the fix, but be sure the video driver and Direct-X are up-to-date. Try it on another computer, if one is available. And, just for kicks, try this older VP version. If you have a license it likely won't apply, but AVI should still work. 7. Nary a glitch at AVI 1080 default export settings. Even ran a test on an I3 laptop - not the best for video editing - and that too succeeded. Click the Default Quality/Filesize blue link; try the MPEG4 compressor. And delete sequence 2. For a brief time, here's the result. Click DOWNLOAD to save it.
  8. Hope you downloaded the 4K, and good luck!
  9. Not at present. Perhaps in an upcoming 64-bit version.
  10. First, suggest that you abandon 4K efforts. That appears to be too much for program memory. When the 64-bit incarnation appears this shouldn't be an issue. Secondly, never have seen a problem with the 'fly', either in HD or 2K. The problematic areas here were the 'blood' scene and the ending clips; they looked okay but were not precisely as programmed. Yet they too did well in the exports mentioned above. So don't have the answers for you, but perhaps someone else will chip in.
  11. Need to see the project. Please share it, complete with all tracks. For the clip that is causing the issue, try applying a Letterbox Aspect Ratio effect to if. A caution: Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you can restore a project to the state it was in when saved. Just double-click the VPJ file (which isn't playable). Related to resolution of the clips, # of tracks and length of the project, export can falter as demands bump up against usable program memory or PC hardware limitations. When this occurs, it may be necessary to reduce export resolution or break the project into exported segments, to be merged in a final export. Have you reviewed the helpful material here? http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/31824-how-to-build-a-multi-face-virtual-choir/ Let's take a look. Four easy steps. 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. Locate the saved, numbered folder and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* (Don't upload the export or just the VPJ file.) 3. Get a shared, public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Click the blue "Change to anyone with the link..." Then click COPY LINK | DONE. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  12. When you make a mistake immediately press <ctrl-Z> to backtrack step-by-step. Same as EDIT | UNDO. Of course. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you can restore a project to the state it was in when saved. Just double-click the VPJ file (which isn't playable). Audio clip length is normally sized by dragging the clip edges, A [ or ] bracket will appear. As for speed, there's no fill-to-fit option. Look at the video length, then in the audio speed dialogue Duration field, closely match that length. If audio and video are linked, then editing one will affect the other, to maintain sync. Right-click either and UNlink, if that's the case. To prevent edits from affecting other tracks, right-click to the left of a track and LOCK TRACK. There's no way to globally remove gaps. But if content is on track 1 they are best seen in Storyboard mode. Right-click in a gap and CLOSE GAP.
  13. If you rename the sequence, the export name will follow. The pixel shape issue that causes the NTSC import was discussed in depth earlier. Suggest you pursue the issue in a PM.
  14. After saving the project, try these actions... 1. Close VP and restart. Click OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. 2. If no help, close VP. Locate these folders on the PC and delete all files in them. "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components" or "C:\Program Files\NCH Software\Components" "C:\Users\<your PC name>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components" 3. Still no joy? Install the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If these measures have not solved the issue, share your project and someone will check it out. It's easy, quick and can be private. Just follow these steps... If using Google Drive click SHARE. Click the blue "Change to anyone with the link." Then click on COPY LINK. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  15. Excellent. There will be feature and export limitations, until you are convinced to puchase.
  16. AVI export usually succeeds in the 'free' (trial) VP version. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you can restore a project to the state it was in when saved. Just double-click the VPJ file (which isn't playable). Then uninstall Videopad via Control Panel | ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. Install this version and see if the export capability returns.
  17. Very fine. Created an upscaled 2160 (4K) version as well and will put it up on the server if you need it.
  18. There's no VP setting that would cause this, so that hints that something in Windows (or a Mac) needs to be changed. Right-click the speaker icon at the right of the taskbar and Open Volume Mixer. Confirm that the Videopad slider is not muted or too low.
  19. Place each song on a separate audio track. Each clip can then be dragged on the timeline, to begin/end where desired. And the 'handles' (small rectangles) on the sides of each clip can be dragged to shorten the song. If the two songs are in the same area of their respective tracks they will mix - both will be heard. For example, here track one is heard shortly after the start of video. Then track two comes in and both are mixed. Track one ends and track two continues to video end.
  20. Clever. You spent considerable effort on this one. After deleting what seemed to be superfluous green-screen (green block) effects in the 'blood' segment, a 1440 (2K) AVI/MPEG 4 codec output succeeded. As did a 1080(HD) AVI export. To my eye, both accurately rendered all effects, but you be the judge. All tests were run on v8.77. 4K export didn't quite make it. My take is that the large files and numerous effects are bumping up against VP's 32-bit memory limits. A 64-bit version is in the works (no target date). If only to speed up loading, consider deleting any files from the bins that are not being used. Then Save Project File AS with a unique # or name, so as to not overwrite prior versions. Restart VP and under OPTIONS | DISK tab Clear Unused Cache Files. Double-click the new VPJ which will then load the project with the minimum # of files. Then export. Sometimes a higher res can be achieved by breaking a project up into segments, exporting each and merging them for final export.

    Aspect Ratio

In the bin (top-left), right-click and Change Clip Aspect Ratio. That's one way. If it doesn't do what you want come back here.
  22. http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/content_capturingscreenshots.html Before you purchase test drive the latest version to see if it does what you need. Debut, like other NCH products, can be used on a trial basis. Certain features will be limited.
  23. Let's check out your project. Issues are usually quickly resolved. Share it here or in private - not the export or only the VPJ file but the project folder. Here's how.. 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. Locate the saved, numbered folder and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* 3. Get a shared, public link.
  24. Narration files are stored on the PC in the MUSIC folder, unless you have changed the path under OPTIONS | DISK tab. Ran a test with Stacks, added narration, then Saved Project Files AS. That created a VPJ control file (not playable). Closed Videopad. When the VPJ was double-clicked the project loaded back into VP exactly as it had been when saved, narration intact. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. What version of Videopad is being used? Test the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  25. Another approach would be to click the audio track, then drag the blue line in a similar fashion to what Nat suggests... As for overall background noise, experiment with the EQ, noise reduction, hi/low pass and compression audio effects.
