  1. That may be sufficient for simple projects. Yet at least 8GB (16 is better) RAM is recommended, along with mid- or high-end video. A Windows box with an I5 (I7 is better) or equivalent can make a world of difference. Gaming class, in general.
  2. Don't spot a thing wrong with it. Version 8.75 AVI export of sequence 6 at default 1080 settings has all the splits and no freezes . Video editing is resource intensive. What are your PC's specs? Also, under OPTIONS | DISK tab, Clear Unused Cache Files. Update the video driver and Direct-X if necessary... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html
  3. Under OPTIONS | DISK tab, Clear Unused Cache Files. Of course. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you can restore a project to the state it was in when saved. Just double-click the VPJ file (which isn't playable). Try the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Report back.
  4. The cause was that a Sequence 2 MOV file was being used for the static man shot. One way to remedy the issue... Open effects for the shot and Save as effect chain template. Give it a name. Now overlay the main shoot clip that was from the Portal to ground sequence with the attached still image. Then hide the track just below that has the original. Apply the effect that you saved; it will be listed at the bottom of the effects window, under the default icons. For a short while, here's a demo revised project - not meant to be perfect. Download and double-click the VPJ file to load it into VP. Export should be clean.
  5. Glad you sussed it out. Drop by anytime.
  6. Check for an updated video driver. https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html And update Direct-X if need be.
  7. WMP plays it without a hitch here. One of the best free media players is MPC-BE. Give it a test drive.
  8. Does this occur In preview, in the exported file, or both? What version of VP is being used? Clear Unused Cache Files under OPTIONS | DISK tab. Consider installing this release and see if the issue persists. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  9. Your export was tested in four players and looked just fine. What are you using to view the video? Tried WMP? The project was flawless as well.
  10. Very fine. Try another player, such as MPC, WMP, etc. Please begin a new thread if you pursue this.
  11. Let's check it out. Sharing the project is easy, quick and can be private. Just follow these simple steps. Don't upload the export or simply the VPJ file - upload the numbered project folder, which contains all the source files. 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. Locate the saved, numbered folder and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* 3. Get a shared, public link. If using Google Drive click SHARE. Click the blue "Change to anyone with the link." Then click on COPY LINK. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  12. Best to start a new thread since this is a somewhat different issue. Please upload and share the exported file so others can test it.
  13. What Version of Videopad is being used? Does it freeze in preview or only after exporting? What are the export settings? What is the resolution of the bulk of the source files? Try this version. https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/vppsetup.exe For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  14. No, you should not have to restart the project. Always save routinely using Save Project File AS, so as to not overwrite prior saves. Then you're protected, as long as you haven't moved or deleted the source files. Double-clicking on the VPJ (non-playable) control file will restore the project to the state it was in when the file was written. Share the project as instructed above. Someone will check it out. And this has nothing to do with licensing.
  15. In order for others to see the link you must click the 'restricted' link and choose ANYONE CAN VIEW.
  16. Is VP running at full-screen size? Post a screenshot link of what you see. Upload the shot to a free server, such as Google Drive, MS OneDrive, DropBox, get a shared link and post it here.
  17. If you created the project with an old version it may not play or export as you programmed it. Forward compatibility isn't 100%.
  18. What version of Videopad is being used? Try the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Try exporting at a lower resolution. What are the export settings. How long is the project, how many tracks, and what's the resolution of the bulk of the source files? If you share your project someone will check it out. This is easy, takes little time and can be private. Follow these instructions... 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. Locate the saved, numbered folder and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* (Don't upload the export or just the VPJ file.) 3. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  19. VP direct uploads to YT occasionally fail. Did you try exporting in one of their approved formats and then using THEIR uploader? https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/57407?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
  20. Need the project folder, not simply the VPJ control file, so folks can see what you see and run export tests. Follow these steps... 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. Using the PC file manager, locate the saved folder and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* (Don't upload the export or just the VPJ file.) 3. Get a shared, public link. If using Google Drive click SHARE. Click the blue "Change to anyone with the link." Then click on COPY LINK. 4. 21. https://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html https://www.nch.com.au/upgrade/index.html The 'free' version is a trial that you can install and test at anytime. It never expires, just like the licensed version, but there are feature and export limitations. There have been substantial changes and improvements since the 6.x series that you might want to check out. https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/vppsetup.exe Yes, upgrades are free within six-months of purchase.
  22. What are your export settings? Does exporting at a lower resolution make a difference? Please share your project. Issues can usually be resolved quickly. It's easy, takes little time and can be private. Just follow these steps... 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. 23. Apply the effect to sequence clips. Bin clip remains unchanged. Or apply an effect to the bin clip, then drag that clip to the sequence. Both bin and sequence clip will reflect the effect. To apply an effect to more than one sequence clip, select the desired clips, configure the effect, then click the 'chain' icon on the toolbar. To become more familiar with the program, click the ? at the top-right. Press <ctrl-F> to enable a FIND box at the bottom-left. Also check out the many tutorials.
  24. Not seeing what you describe. What version is being used? Upgrade to this one. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Record_2020_08_23_12_37_58_398.mp4 Export is very clean.
  25. The clip is on the sequence as well, as the right-side sequence window shows. The timeline wasn't included in the image above. Play either the clip or the sequence, apply the EQ, just as shown.
