  1. Think you would have to be more specific about what was seen and done to have the issue replicated. But...https://tinyurl.com/y6x6fqro
  2. If your insert at a split point, the clip will drop in and ripple those to the right. Position the cursor at the split, right-click the bin clip, PLACE ON SEQUENCE AT CURSOR, or drag it there. If you insert in the middle of an existing clip, that clip will be split and ripple clips at its right. To drag a group of clips to the right, click the first clip, hold down <shift>, click the last clip. Drag. Leaves a gap. If the clips snap, hold down <alt> while dragging. The same applies to text or audio clips. Record_2020_09_23_20_15_30_309.mp4
  3. Clear Unused Cache Files and see if that helps. Sometimes a thumbnail will be missing. If it's truly a gap, it should be seen while previewing, and will be very evident in Storyboard Mode.
  4. Humm... Plotting keyframes prior to speed change seems to be the answer. They don't translate when speed is changed. Bug?? One way to workaround this would be to... change clip speed, right-click | COPY (or drag to the bin), click the + on the sequence tab to add a new, blank sequence right-click | PASTE (or add the speed adjusted clip from the bin) export. Use the changed-speed exported clip in the original sequence and add audio keyframes where desired.
  5. Please upload and share the project, in the usual manner. 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. Locate the saved, numbered folder and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* (Don't upload the export file or only the VPJ.) 3. Get a shared, public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Click the blue "Change to anyone with the link..." Then click COPY LINK | DONE. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  6. How about posting a visual demo of what you see?
  7. Upload the two shots to a free server, maker them shareable and post the shared link here. Someone will experiment.
  8. Side-by-side clips can have a Crossfade transition, as long as they are butted against each other and long enough to accommodate the fade. Go to Storyboard mode. That more easily spots gaps or short, unintended clips that might not be seen in Timeline mode. Timeline mode Storyboard mode
  9. Overlays (higher tracks) take precedence over lower tracks. During sequence preview, they should play as encountered on the overlay track/s. Please be more specific. Or, better still, upload and share your project. It's easy, takes little time and can be private. Just follow these steps...
  10. It's smooth here in the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Was it jumpy in the preview window during editing or on the export? What is the resolution of the source file. Can you upload the file to a free server, get a shareable link and post that here so others can take a look? What version of VP is being used? What are the specs for your PC?
  11. What type of drive is in use: SSD, Hybrid, conventional? If the latter, you may be in for a long, if not terminal wait. Be sure that drivers are up to date. VP runs on 64-bit systems, certainly, but lengthy, multi-effect or UHD work is known to have 32-bit limitations resulting in errors, often in export, that mirror your description. While working with some of those projects here on an eighth-gen I7, near steady 100% CPU utilization has been seen. The load of your raw clips showed at the outset, tapering off to a steady 22% or so. During an export attempt it was about 32%. Yet caching those nine-minute clips in both the bin and on the timeline took in excess of an hour before the UI was fully responsive. Adding effects necessitated re-caching, though response remained good. Various resolution exports failed. Empirically, from a practical standpoint, yes, though the sequence of your short, edited test project cached in minutes and played fine. The most recent comment from a company rep stated that VP 64-bit is under testing. This isn't a one-trick pony: NCH has been around for more than a quarter-century. Many of their programs are reportedly slated for conversion. No easy chore. In the interim, test pre-conversion at 2K (or 1080), possibly at 30fps. Your reticence notwithstanding, that, and divvying the project into discrete exports are alternatives. No guarantees. Downsampling your two files to 2K with another app took 10-15 minutes. Sorry, but can't offer more. Report your concerns at https://tinyurl.com/y3mhbljb No rock stars here - mostly just users who don't work or speak for NCH.
  12. More specifics needed on what you did. If an image, for example, is inserted into the middle of grouped clips it will create a gap ... as the clips shift to make way for the still. Linked A/V clips will try to maintain sync.
  13. Your YT links are fine, but are not useful in recreating the issue. Don't know where YouTube got those names, but when your titles are tested... "A change in the weather" "All i got is the blues" "Raggedy blues" there's no problem. All cuts directly and quickly uploaded successfully to YouTube, using a still image for video. Doesn't appear to be an NCH issue. Try those uploads again.
  14. None of the above named cuts appear in the NCH music library here... If not there, where did you obtain them?
  15. What are the names of the music cuts? Yes, file a resolution request with http://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2797454?hl=en NCH apparently has yet to receive resolution or they would have reported that to you. Perhaps you will have better luck.
  16. Again, what allegedly non-licensed NCH library music cuts were used for these videos?
  17. What version of VP is being run? Here is the latest. Haven't spotted a slowdown here. Prior to loading or starting a project, click OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  18. Apply animated effects to the PIP clip. http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/effects_animating.html If VP is slow, this may be due to working with very high-res files. Click on the PROXY EDITING 'sticky' FAQ above. Consider an upgrade of PC hardware.
  19. To change pre-existing clips? Don't believe so. Subtitles (captions), on the other hand...
  20. Right-click on the audio track and REMOVE ALL FADES. The fade length should be echoed on the timeline. It is here in the latest version.
  21. For your uninstall you might employ this free tool. Include registry entries. Let us know. And check this out... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html
  22. Sure. Using MATCH MONITOR mode, preview the last frame Then right-click in the preview window and Take Snapshot of Sequence | HD/1080 The snapshot appears in the bin (top-left) under the Images tab. Tack it onto the last video, drag its handles to the desired length, and apply the crossfade transition, if desired, to fade it to black. -0-0- An alternative: split video only just prior to the last frame. To see the small clip expand the timeline with the slider at the bottom-right of the window. Right-click the split-out clip and Change Clip Speed to 1. Trim the result and apply the crossfade.
  23. Your description and an initial corrupt project load here led to a false conclusion. Subsequent attempts were fine: no preview black or freezing. Developers are working on maximizing GPU usage, which peaked at 10% during PV play of your project. Under OPTIONS | EDITING tab, toggle the "use hardware acceleration" item to see if that has an effect. So unable to replicate your results, using version 8.22. Try a clean install, after first uniinstalling via Control Panel | PROGRAMS AND FEATURES.
  24. My guess is that 7GB of 4K files have maxed out VPs 32-bit resources. The 64-bit version will better handle UHD (no target date). Suggest first converting these files to 2K. HD (1080) would be even better. Resulting quality should be fine for content of this nature.
