  1. Something isn't kosher. With the project on the timeline, click EXPORT on the tool or menu bar|VIDEO FILE. The export window appears. Choose the format and settings, and direct it to a convenient existing folder, such as DOWNLOADS. That's it. VP can directly export to Google Drive, MS OneDrive, YouTube, Vimeo, etc. This is not dependent upon the VPJ (non-playable) file. Export can be accomplished without first saving a project. To save a project, so it can be loaded later by clicking the VPJ control file, use Save Project File AS, giving it a unique # or name so as to not overwrite prior saves. Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite.
  2. Upgrade to this version and see if the issue is resolved. Report back.
  3. When exporting click the Default Quality/Filesize blue link and this should pop up... Note the choices that appear when clicking in the Lossless Export field. The program decides if lossless is possible. Apparently one of your files does not meet the specs. Share, and someone here will check. Zip the files, then upload to a free server such as Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive. Get a shared link and paste it here. If using Google, click the 'Restricted' link and change it to Anyone Can Share.
  4. What version of Videopad is being used? The following works well here... Slight revision (no need to select all clips first). 1. Click any transition X. 2. Change the duration, if desired. 3. Click the chevron at the bottom and choose APPLY TO ALL. 4. Click the effect (diamond). To alter the duration of all transitions after the fact, use the same procedure. trans.mp4
  5. Do your clips meet these requirements? The following criteria must be met by the input/output videos for lossless export to be used: We currently support H.264 and MPEG4 encoder video sources. The output format must match the input format. Supported formats are .avi, .mkv, .mov, .mp4 The output and input must have the same dimensions, encoder profile, levels and extradata. Visual effects are not supported. Any segments of your video that include visual effects will be re-encoded. At least 10% of your sequence must meet the criteria for lossless editing. If less than 10% of the sequence meets the criteria, the entire sequence will be re-encoded during export.
  6. If there is a gap between clips, transitioning won't work correctly. Dragging the trans grey strip edges is another way to change its duration. Don't see here what you describe. Whatever the playback speed, when the transition duration is changed, it is reflected and plays as such in preview. One way to quickly split is to position the cursor at each slide, then press the L key. Very fast. To add the same transition to all clips, click a clip X icon. At the bottom of the transitions box choose APPLY TO ALL CLIPS, then click the desired transition.
  7. You say that this has succeeded with version 7.05 in the past? Doesn't display video here. If your copy is not licensed and registered, install this release. If licensed, download a version that came out within six-months of purchase and you should be able to register it with the code on hand. Or pay to update. Version 7.51 might be a good choice, from this site. Ignore any virus warnings.
  8. Open EFFECTS for a clip and these choices should be available. Settings are configurable.
  9. The 'free' download is a trial. It has feature and export format limitations and will prompt for purchase, but it doesn't expire. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. For those who prefer it, subscription-based licensing is also available.
  10. What version of VP is being used? If a source 16x9 image is letterboxed to 4x3, unless zoomed in it will have black bars top and bottom, so may appear to be 16x9. Here's an example. Or, depending upon settings and monitor resolution, export may be pillarboxed - black on all sides. During export, the CROP AND ZOOM button will avoid black bars. That may be already selected by the program. The MATCH MONITOR setting (under the sequence preview window) gives a good approximation of how the export will look at your monitor's resolution. MATCH CONTENT looks at the source file. Click the chevron at the right to select 4x3 and many other settings. During export, choose a 4x3 resolution for export (or TV NTSC in the Preset field). Share the project. Or save it and then split out a segment that demonstrates your issue. Someone will check it out. Don't upload the export, just the project folder, as instructed here... 1. With your project on the timeline, click the 3-lined menu, top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder. Click SELECT FOLDER. 2. Using the PC file manager, locate the saved folder and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* (Don't upload the export or just the VPJ file.) 3. Get a shared, public link. If using Google Drive click SHARE. Click the blue "Change to anyone with the link." Then click on COPY LINK. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  11. Should be quicker with the latest versions. What version is being used and what are the export settings? What is the resolution of the bulk of the source files?
  12. Videopad 'free' is free download of a trial version. It has no watermark. It will prompt to upgrade, but you are not obligated. Certain effects and export formats (such as mp4) will be unavailable, especially after the trial ends. AVI export usually succeeds. Watch for discounts when you're ready to purchase. https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/free.html
  13. Tough to gauge without being able to run the project. If possible, upload and share a single nine-minute, fully edited segment. Someone here will analyse it.
  14. Reopening a VPJ file should load the content exactly as it was when the file was written. Not exporting, just reopening the project.. Have never personally seen any changes in contrast of an image or video, nor have there been posts to that effect. Provide examples as above to clue folks in...
  15. So, you have a previously bordered still ... and you want to transition it to a video with a similarly sized border? After sizing the border on the video have you tried using the SCALE effect and its positioning sliders to line it up with the stills? Submit a short project file if necessary and someone here will have a look. Don't upload the export, just the saved back-up project file, as described here... 1. With your completed project on the timeline, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left. Click FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Specify a folder.
  16. Track two has SOLO enabled. Right-click to the left of the track and uncheck that option, or click the solo button.
  17. You're correct. If the version you now have is not doing the job, try this beta. There's no obligation to upgrade, and newer releases can always be tested on a trial basis.
  18. May not be understanding quite what you describe. Here, added the BORDER effect to a small portrait still and it looked fine. Border can be sized by dragging the lines in the preview window while the effect screen is still open. Or just use the sliders. No LETTERBOX was required in this example. In a second test, loaded a random image and letterboxed it to the desired aspect ratio, then added a border. That worked fine as well, superimposed over a background.
  19. Let's take a look at this. Either upload to a free server the full project or a portion thereof that has the issue. Here are the easy steps. Don't upload the exported file. Indicate the timecode where this effect takes place. 1. With your completed project on the timeline, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left. Click FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Specify a folder.
  20. What version of VP is being used? Take Nat's advice and back up the project, then try download and install this version. Check back with your results.
  21. In the preview window, crag the CROP handles to any size. And note the ASPECT RATIO box where there are many choices. Use ZOOM instead. In the stabilizer settings, click on ADVANCED and in the Page 2 column set an EDGE COMPENSATION. That can eliminate black borders.
  22. Let's take a look. Issues are usually solved quickly. Upload and share your project (not the export)). It's easy, and can be private. Just follow these steps... 1. With your completed project on the timeline, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left. Click FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Specify a folder.
  23. It's doubtful that this is a Videopad issue, but more likely machine specific. AFAIK, it has not been reported by others, some of whom surely use Acrobat. But it will be interesting to see if/what response you receive.
  24. Devs have identified the issue. SHAKE seems to be working reasonably well in this beta, but there may be further improvements.
  25. What version of Videopad is being used? Try this one. Ignore any virus messages. It's clean. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If the problem persists, come back here.
