  1. Right-click the chevron at the right-top of the VP window and send a suggestion.
  2. Your secret is safe here.😁 Of course. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you can restore a project to the state it was in when saved. Just double-click the VPJ file (which isn't playable). If export problems arise, you have the earlier building blocks.
  3. Indeed. Simple NLEs may be a little less frustrating, but don't offer VP's versatility for the creative home user. High-end editors are targeted to a different market. While amazing in their capabilities, full utilization can exact a steep learning curve and a hefty subscription price.
  4. Export resolution makes the placement difference. 768x576 will produce the result you are seeing, with black top/bottom bands. 1024x576 and 1920x1080 (the Auto Match suggestion) both place the shockwave precisely at the same spot as in preview, as shown above. You posted your screenshot link correctly. NCH disabled the ability for users to post images directly due to unpleasant 'incidents.'
  5. Visit a friend and test on their PC, if possible. From the top-left Menu, click FILE | BACKUP PROJECT TO A FOLDER and put the resulting numbered folder on a USB drive. Install VP on the other PC. Then open the USB folder that was saved and double-click the VPJ file, to load the project. Have you (or MS) run chkdsk C:\ /f, as instructed above? Let us know. This is very unusual.
  6. Using the CENSOR effect you will see a box (or selectable oval) on the preview screen. Choose Black, Pixelate or Blur. Position the box over the subject with the mouse and click the small green + sign to create the first keyframe. Move the red cursor in the effect window until the subject moves out of the box. Reposition the box and another keyframe will be automatically created. Repeat until satisfied. The keyframes, shown by blue dots in the effect window, can be dragged, deleted (right-click on one) and otherwise positioned. If you make a mistake press <ctrl-Z> to backtrack, step-by-step. In this example the man's face was tracked and blurred... Preview the effect with either preview or sequence play, or simply drag the red line in the effects window. 7. Animate it with keyframes. Here's how... http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/effects_animating.html
  8. No, wouldn't want to be responsible for that, and your video fully demonstrated the issue. Can you test your project on another PC? It's unlikely that VP is the cause. Don't recall other similar failures.
  9. For that result start with the background image on the first track. In this demo, the 5X5 grid was used to build a top row, but the boxes can be assigned in any order. Note that the SCALE slider in the SPLIT-SCREEN effect has been arbitrarily set .85, which allows the blue background to be seen around each box. Once the initial box is configured, click the folder on the toolbar. You will be prompted for a name. This will become just another effect icon, at the bottom of the effects window. Apply it to each track, then chose the letter in the matrix WHERE you want the box to appear. How the tracks are staggered determines WHEN they appear. Ideally, all box videos should be a similar aspect ratio, size and resolution. Individual shots that miss the mark can be pre-produced to conform, prior to split-screen insertion. 10. Use MATCH MONITOR, available in sequence mode, to get a good representation of what the export will look like. Compose text within the preview screen image borders. Text should overlay the background if it's on a the next higher track. Try applying the LETTERBOX or CROP Aspect Ratio effect to an image or video that has a different ratio than your monitor or export ratio. If none of this helps, share your project and someone will have a look. It's easy, quick and can be private. Follow these steps... 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. Locate the saved, numbered folder and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* (Don't upload the export or just the VPJ file.) 3. Get a shared, public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Click the blue "Change to anyone with the link..." Then click COPY LINK | DONE. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  11. Have you installed the latest version, as linked above? That normally solves export issues. If it doesn't, drop by once again with specifics. Share your project. 4. 12. No Match VIDEO. Match MONITOR appears when in sequence mode. If may or not be different than MATCH CONTENT, depending upon that content.
  13. That would be tough as this choir already has been built with composited columns. But if an ADD BLANK clip is scaled to create two lines - horizontal and vertical - they can be overlaid repeatedly between the boxes. Makes a nice effect.
  14. What's seen in VP preview depends upon the aspect ratio of the source, which can be changed via various effects. Use MATCH MONITOR for the sequence to see a good representation of what the export will look like. Different export resolutions will produce differing results. Auto-Match is a suggestion based on source files, but you can choose. Usually the best quality will be obtained by closely matching export to the highest resolution of the source files. Don't use VLC here, but it should have view settings that may eliminate the borders, or perhaps the window size can be dragged smaller. If parameters vary on a number of previously exported files, they likely will appear as they were exported when reloaded, so there could be a mix of A/R on the final export. Experiment. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en If you have allowed the project to fully cache (completed green line above the thumbnails) then it should respond well. That said, video editing being resource intensive, the PC's hardware can make a considerable difference. For complex editing a gaming-class machine is often recommended. https://www.desktop-documentaries.com/computer-for-video-editing.html Lengthy projects with high-res files and many effects that tend to hang on export may benefit from being produced and exported in segments, later to be merged for final export.
  15. Bookmarks can be used to mark the start of each song and will create DVD chapters, but there's no index... http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/bookmarks.html For more complex authoring, try Express Burn.
  16. What occurs when the file path, in both SAVE and EXPORT is changed to something very simple, such as "C:\Users\<your PC name>\Downloads" ? What occurs if you totally uninstall VP, using this free tool, and install the latest.
  17. Folks here are mainly users, just like yourself. They cant take over your screen. Whether NCH paid support does that is unknown, but doubtful. If you make a mistake, immediately press <ctrl-Z> (EDIT | UNDO) to backtrack, step-by-step. Of course. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you can restore a project to the state it was in when saved. Just double-click the VPJ file (which isn't playable). Video clips normally have linked audio, to maintain sync. If desired, right-click either the video or audio track and click the UNlink choice. To prevent tracks from affecting other tracks when editing, right-click to the left of the track and LOCK TRACK. Certain 'movements' are normal, such as when a new clip is inserted (dropped into) an existing timeline clip, which will split that clip. If you outline specifics here - exactly what is being attempted - folks will chime in to help.
  18. Not familiar with 'iobit.' Does Control Panel | PROGRAMS AND FEATURES list Videopad as being installed? If so, try REVO. There's a suspicion that a Windows setting may be preventing VP install - but what?
  19. If the dashes are typed into the text box directly, or pasted from Notepad, they appear. Perhaps the other unusual characters are causing what you see.
  20. Is this what you are doing... For the SAVE, click on a convenient folder in the Windows Explorer (file manager) box. That name must appear at the top - as DOWNLOADS does above. In export you need to supply a valid folder, such as the D:\VP Test here... Click the blue link in the Save to Folder field and Windows Explorer pops up. Click on a folder. It's name will appear where D:\VP test does here. Click on SAVE at the bottom-right. When this is resolved, please report details here.
  21. The only track with the shadow area was the Landing track, so applying a bit of transparency seemed to help. Can't say that this is a bug. No, didn't note a variation in the shockwave, but wasn't looking. But on comparison, they look the same - preview on left / 1080 export on right.
  22. One of the strangest. Just to confirm... When you Save Project File AS, by clicking the chevron to the right of the Home menu | SAVE icon on the toolbar, is this what you see? All that's needed is to click SAVE and the VPJ file will be saved in the path shown - in this case that's DOWNLOADS. Something on your PC seems to be thwarting your efforts. To see if there is disc corruption, from the elevated (administrative) Command Prompt, type this, then <enter>... chkdsk C:\ /f Answer YES to the prompt and restart the PC. In Videopad click OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Close VP. Restart it, then load the project. Any success? And a newer version for you to try. Your info has been passed on.
  23. See if this free utility helps... https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html If REVO lists it, uninstall, including all registry entries. Then try the install once again.
  24. Ran test with the other editor. The 2.17GB file would not display video - blank screen. VP did better. 'Glitchy again' played, but had the same errors as in VP. 'Fishy' was dandy, as in VP. So neither the NLE program nor the PC's resources appear to be at fault. Many other projects reviewed here have had GoPro source files. No pixelation. Time to call in the Rabbi?
  25. A single CK effect targets only a single color. But another CK effect can be added. Results could be pretty funky. Experiment.
