  1. A strange one. What version of Videopad is being used? Here's the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Does it hang at a reversed clip? Some VP releases had that issue. You can also try this... Delete the files in these folders after closing the program, then reinstall Videopad. If those files were corrupt, they should now be fresh. "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components" or "C:\ProgramFiles\NCH Software\Components" "C:\Users\<your PC name>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components" If still no joy, share a segment of your project that exhibits the issue and someone will have a look. This can be done privately. Just follow this easy 4-step procedure... 1. With your project on the timeline, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left. Click FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Specify a folder. Click SELECT FOLDER. 2. Using the PC file manager, go to where the numbered folder was saved and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* 3. Get a shared, public link that anyone can view. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  2. If the project was created with 7.30 but exported with an 8.x version it's conceivable that there could be some irregularities, but you state that behavior was the same in 7.30. Out of ideas.
  3. Doesn't seem so. But ... Drag a polygon mask, then add the BLUR affect, which can be adjusted.
  4. Have you tested the AVI MPEG4 compressor option? You can try this version, which may allow mp4 export for a time. That's not guaranteed to remedy your issue. Unless we can see the project, there's little more to offer.
  5. Can't say. Try mp4 export. Upload the project so we can take a look.
  6. Did you create other VPJ files by Saving Project Files AS routinely and giving them a unique # or name, so as to not overwrite prior saves? VP often creates back ups. Look in the source files folder, or search the PC for VPJ and try several of those files. If no luck, please upload the folder that contains the source files and the VPJ to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive. Get a shared link that's public and can be viewed by anyone, copy that link and paste it here or in private. Someone will check it out.
  7. No expiration. The 'free' version is a trial. Some effects and export formats may be disabled, especially after the trial period ends..
  8. Please share the project for analysis if exporting in the mp4 format failed to remedy the issue.
  9. What version of Videopad is being used? Try the latest. If that doesn't solve the issue, install this version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  10. Upon exit VP should be prompting to SAVE. Clicking the saved VPJ file will restore the project just as it was. Nothing should be displaced. Open Videopad and prior to loading the project click OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files, just in case the cache is corrupt. It's a good idea to manually Save Project File AS regularly, giving it a unique # or name so as to not overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then the appropriate VPJ file can be double-clicked, to load the program as it was when the file was written. It's wise to edit and export with the same, or a close, version. But you can test the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  11. Assuming that these are all still images on the same track, you should be able to drag slide two to the right. This will either leave a gap or snap back. If it snaps, hold down <alt> while dragging. Then, to extend slide one's duration, drag its right handle - the ] bracket - to the right until it fills the gap. The slides change in preview at clip junctions. There's no need to put slides on different tracks. Remember, higher tracks override lower tracks, so if slide 1 were on track 1 and slide 2 on track 2, only slide 2 would be seen - unless scaled smaller than slide one. That would be picture-in-picture, with slide 1 in the background. Record_2020_07_26_16_19_49_730.mp4 As noted earlier, audio clips can be dragged to the desired position. If you construct slide-by-slide you shouldn't run into this issue. Place a slide on the timeline, record the narration, extend or shorten the slide to fit then voice, then move on to the next slide.
  12. What version of Videopad is that? Look at the left-bottom of the VP window. Has any clip been speed changed? Try an export using the mp4 container in lieu of AVI. Sharing the project will help diagnose, not necessarily fix it. Someone will be glad to check it out if you complete the easy 4-step process... Get a shared, public, non-restricted link. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  13. Takes time to get familiar with editing software, no matter how intuitive. To protect your work routinely use Save Project File AS, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. This creates a VPJ control file (not playable) that usually resides in the same folder as the source files, unless you have saved it elsewhere. Double-clicking on a VPJ file loads the project. Clicking the chevron at the right of the SAVE PROJECT icon on the Home menu toolbar will reveal the Save AS choice. If you make an editing mistake, immediately press <ctrl-Z> (EDIT | UNDO) to backtrack, step-by-step. One way to approach your task is to first place a single slide on the timeline. Then place the red cursor where you want the audio to begin. Assuming that you are using Videopad's narration feature, record your narration clip. It will be placed at the cursor point on the timeline. There will be a clip saved to the audio bin as well. If audio has been pre-recorded, drop the audio clip onto the timeline in the same manner. Audio clips can be dragged left or right, for exact placement. Slides can be moved as well, or sized.... To lengthen or shorten a slide drag its handles - the [ or ] brackets that appear when the cursor is passed over the start or end of the slide clip. In general, to move slides, click the slide and drag. Dragging left shortens the adjacent earlier slide. Dragging right will move all later slides in concert. If that group snaps back after letting go of the mouse, hold down <alt> while dragging. If it instead leaves a gap, it can be closed by right-clicking in the gap and clicking CLOSE GAP. Once you are satisfied with the sync of this slide, Save Project AS, as outlined above. Then add the next slide to the timeline by either dragging it from the bin and mating it with the existing slide or right-clicking it in the bin and choosing PLACE ON SEQUENCE AT END. Follow the same procedure for each slide and Project Save AS. Then you can always restore the project by double-clicking its uniquely numbered or named VPJ. This step-by-step method keeps things simple. Each slide/narration is in sync. As you have seen, altering slide position or length after several are on the timeline can mess things up, as audio and video are not linked. However, they can be grouped. Select the slides and audio clips that need to be moved together, right-click on one of them and GROUP SELECTED CLIPS. Then, when a slide is moved, the audio clips will be positioned accordingly. But, watch out: if a slide is shortened, audio for that slide will be as well. Good luck!
  14. Did you test it with this version? Any error messages? In using multiple export options, did you try different compressors, such as MPEG4, or perhaps different containers, such as AVI?
  15. Seems as if Clear Clicks is producing a non-standard file. Load it into Windows Media Player. Does it play? Try outputting in another format. Can't do much more here unless we can see the file. As mentioned, it can be submitted privately.
  16. Usually that's a sign that the file is non-standard. Does it play in Windows Media Player? Upload it to a free server, such as MS OneDrive or Google Drive, make it public, share it so ANYONE can view and post the shared link here. We'll check it out.
  17. None. What version of Videopad is being used. Here is the latest. Give it a test drive. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  18. What version of Videopad is being used? What resolution are the source files? THE very best way to see what you see is for you to share your project. Preview should never take hours, especially when adding a simple end slide. Sharing is a straightforward 4-step process, takes little time, and can be submitted privately. Do not upload the export, just follow these instructions...
  19. The WMP display of a true 720x480 file reports video size of 720x480 and aspect ratio of 1:1 actual, 1.5 displayed. I.O.W. a 4x5 image. WMP reads your AVI video size as 720x480 as well. However, its aspect is 8:9 actual, 1.33.1 displayed. Horizontal screen widths are not the same. Thus, while both files claim to be 720x480, there are differences between them, likely owing to the explanation offered by c_major in your other thread. Accepting 640x480 in VP and exporting 720 as outlined there may be a reasonable compromise, at the expense of slight vertical content. Why your FireWire isn't accepted by VP is another issue that's likely to be addressed eventually.
  20. If the AVI imports as 720 in versions 7.51-->8.35, it's likely for the same reason that C_Major explains above. Why the difference between W7 and W10 is a puzzlement. Why not convert to WMV in Pinnacle? That file imports into VP as 720x640. https://1drv.ms/v/s!AmKCN6jvYsvCrHzajiy7Yoo0ydHw?e=aoGEry
  21. That's new one. Usually a simple over-install does the job. If not, uninstalling VP via Control Panel|ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS should. Reboot your PC, then try to install VP. The files that were suggested to be deleted above are normally reinstated. If this fails, you might try this free uninstaller, allowing it to delete all Videopad-related files and registry entries. If the "missing" message appears after that when reinstall is attempted, then something very unusual is in play. Deleting Windows temp files is a thought, but that's never been necessary through countless installs here.
  22. Have seen no reports of inconsistent behavior. An easy and accurate way to insert is to position the cursor at the split point where the new material is to be dropped, right-click the new clip in the bin and PLACE ON SEQUENCE AT CURSOR. That should do what you want. To snap the cursor to the split, use the ||< and >|| keys under the preview window. If a new clip is dragged atop another it will replace it. If an existing clip is dragged on the timeline it will land at the drop point (let go of the mouse button), splitting the original clip. Each time VP is installed it may exhibit slightly different behaviors. If snapping when a clip is dragged to the right is annoying, try holding the <alt> key. Or simply reinstall Videopad until clips don't snap back. This may take several installs, but they're very quick. No need to re-download. When you make a mistake immediately press <ctrl-Z> (EDIT | UNDO) to backtrack step-by-step. Save Project AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as to not overwrite prior saves. Save Project (no AS) will overwrite.
  23. Video editing is resource intensive and your results hint at a beefier video card. Compare the GTX 1060 used for successful tests here with your mid-level Intel 620. https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Intel+UHD+Graphics+620&id= That's no guarantee that results would be better if you did upgrade. No one wants to be responsible for a needless expenditure. Perhaps you have access to a higher-end PC for testing and comparison? Or can simply stick with 2K.
  24. Under OPTIONS | EDITING, toggle "use hardware acceleration" to see whether that makes a difference. Be sure that the video driver and Direct-X are up to date. AMD / ATI users: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx Intel users: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx nVidia users: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us Update DirectX: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/179113 Crop, scale and position are normally no problem though the order in which they are applied can affect results. The best way to pin down your issue is to be share the project. Someone will check it out. It's an easy and quick 4-step process and can be private. Just follow these instructions...
  25. Your linked video confirms that the audio is there. So this isn't the flatline waveform/no audio issue that some others have encountered. And the project linked earlier plays fine here in preview and upon export, using 8.63. When you double-click your latest demo file in the VP bin (top-left), does it play? Does the file play in Windows Media Player? Is it silent only on sequence play or after exporting as well? Did you test it in this release of Videopad? Retain you licensed installer and registration info, if any.
