  1. What version of Videopad is being used? Upgrade to the latest if possible. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If that doesn't take care of the issue, let's have a look. Please share the project (not the export). It's easy, quick and can be private. Just follow these steps and upload the project folder - not simply the VPJ file. 1. With your completed project on the timeline, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left. Click FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Specify a folder. Click SELECT FOLDER. 2. Using the PC file manager, go to where the numbered folder was saved and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* 3. Get a shared, public link that ANYone can view. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  2. There should be no problem mixing source file types and 'chopping' up the video is typical. The mp4 container can house various compressors (codecs). The default is H264. Try MPEG4. Click the Default Quality/Filesize blue link. Upgrade to the latest version if possible. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Share the project (not the export) and someone here will check it out and likely come up with a fix. This is easy, quick and can be private. Just follow these steps... 1. With your project on the timeline, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left. Screenshots can be linked. Upload the shot to a free server, get a shareable link and post that link here.
  3. Don't recall ever seeing a report that a file would not import. Right-clicking the file and clicking PROPERTIES | DETAILS should reveal the resolution. The only thing that comes to mind is using a file splitter to break up the 10GB prior to VP import.
  4. Hard to say without seeing the project. Different export resolutions can alter positioning. Often it's best to stick with the same resolution as the source files. Are you using VP v8.63? Under the preview window, try the MATCH MONITOR mode, which should be a good representation of what export will display. Be sure that text fits the preview window. Upload your project (not the export) when you have completed editing and someone will check it out. Indicate what resolution is desired for export. The sharing process is easy, takes but a few minutes. Just follow these four steps... 1. With your project on the timeline, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left.
  5. A 64-bit Videopad version, which will better handle very high res content, is under development. No target release date.
  6. This should help with YT... https://lumen5.com/learn/youtube-video-dimension-and-size/ It's a balance between desired quality and ease of editing. Lower res and smaller files make editing easier, and that goes for any NLE. When constructing your project, routinely Save Project Files AS, so as to not overwrite prior saves. Save Project Files will overwrite. Then you're protected. Launching a VPJ (non-playable control file) will load the project just as it was when the save was made provided no files have been deleted or moved. If you make a mistake during editing immediately press <ctrl-Z> (EDIT | UNDO) to backtrack step-by-step.
  7. Some glitches are to be expected, but they are usually resolved quickly via this forum. Lengthy or complex UHD 4K video projects may require planning as they can max out memory. Hardware is a factor as video editing is resource intensive.
  8. That's unusual behavior. The 'free' version is a trial, with limitations. Mp4 may not work, but AVI usually does. Try another install with this version, which may or may not be the one you already have. Best bet is to purchase.
  9. https://www.nch.com.au/upgrade/ If it's an initial purchase, discounts are often available - especially on holidays.
  10. No, this has no relation to whether you are running the trial or paid version. Upgrade to this release and see if the issue is resolved. If not, drop by again. If you purchase, upgrades are free for six-months. After that there's a fee, but the version purchased will continue to function fully, indefinitely.
  11. A few options to explore... Prism Handbrake
  12. What's the resolution and format of the clip? Consider upgrading to a more current release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If it still balks, please come back and upload the clip so folks can check it out. Upload to a free server, make the clip public so anyone can view it. Paste the shared link here.
  13. Hints that you had excess, unwanted video at the head of the project. It's conceivable that it wasn't visible because the entire project wasn't displayed. Use the two-headed icon at the bottom-right of the screen to shrink the sequence so that it is shown in full.
  14. Indeed. Many changes are 'under the hood.' Best advice is to test drive later releases. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/versions.html
  15. Hopefully, you upgraded to a newer release. If issues persist, someone will be glad to help if you take a few minutes to share the project - not the export - as outlined above.
  16. Don't know where you got that info, but an mp4 two-minute upload using YT's uploader succeeded here in just minutes. If you must, convert your file. Here's a trial version (unless you license it) of NCH's Prism converter..
  17. Sounds as if it's a YT issue. Check with their support groups and forums. If you have successfully exported an mp4 that plays in Windows Media Player, then Videopad has succeeded.
  18. Videopad can export in a number of ways. They're listed in the export drop-down box. But YT-direct uploads can be problematic. Use their uploader if a direct upload fails.
  19. What version of VP is being used? Install this one. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If the issue persists, someone here will be glad to help. Just share the project folder. Follow these simple instructions. If uploaded to Google Drive be sure that ANYone can view it... 1. With your project on the timeline, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left. Get a shared, public, non-restricted link. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  20. Attempted to upload your mp4 50fps H264 to YT, using their uploader (not VP-direct) but it was too long. Otherwise, no errors, no issues. This isn't a VP problem. Perhaps your account has higher capacity.
  21. If you're seeing a prompt of that nature, suggest contacting YT. Various file converters are available on the Net, but you shouldn't need them. Something is amiss. There's no indication that YT charges for mp4 or any other format. Mp4 has been uploaded successfully here without charge. An article states: "According to Youtube, the best video format is MP4 with H. 264 video codec and AAC audio codec. You get a high-quality video and a small file size."
  22. The link you provided is from your local PC and cannot be viewed here. To include a link in the forum upload the file to a server, get a shareable link and post it here. In the above image, note the blue "Default Quality/Filesize ' link. That's what needs to be clicked to see what codec is being used, and others that are available.
  23. YouTube definitely does accept the common mp4 container format... https://support.google.com/youtube/troubleshooter/2888402?hl=en If the export from VP using the default H264 codec is rejected, try MPEG4.
  24. File a report. Click the chevron at the top-right of the window. In the drop-down menu there's a 'bug report' option.
