  1. Is there reverse video in your project? Try this Videopad version. But bear in mind... For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If that doesn't help, share your project and someone will check it out. Just follow the step-by-step instructions for a PORTABLE project... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. It won't be passed on or retained. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to get a shareable, public link - not one that is restricted.
  2. Sorry we cannot replicate your result for troubleshooting ... but if it can't be seen it's tough to fix. ^_* Your hardware is sufficient. Tested on the I3 and the I7 here and even with another NLE. Nary a glitch like those you describe. Good luck.
  3. The mp4 that you linked has no content (zero bytes). What's needed is the PORTABLE project folder that can be saved and uploaded via the instructions here... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ First, load your project by opening the VPJ file. If clicking the saved VPJ file won't load your project then look in the folder where all the source files reside. If there is also a VPJ file there, upload the entire folder containing those files. You can also search the drive for VPJ. One of those files may load your project.
  4. You need to make the link public and non-restricted before others can share it. Try again please. The option is available via the Google Drive settings when you share the link.
  5. What version of Videopad is being used? When you say "converted" to mp4, assume you mean that you EXPORTED it to mp4. That should succeed. Don't 'convert' anything. The VPJ file is created when SAVE PROJECT is used. It's recommended to SAVE PROJECT AS, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite earlier saves. Using Save Project (no AS) overwrites. Let's track this down by taking a look at your project. The process is easy, quick and can be private. It won't be shared. Just follow the PORTABLE project instructions here... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, upload the resulting folder, and don't forget to get a shareable (non-restricted) link to post. Don''t upload the mp4 export.
  6. You are not the only one at a loss. Nat cannot replicate the fault either, apparently. Transferred your production to an I3 PC with VP version 8.56 and it played without a glitch. Similar specs to your system. Some things were never meant to be known. The latest release is here.
  7. Here's the latest release. You should be able to register it.
  8. VST Plugins This feature allows you to use Virtual Studio Technology (VST) DLL plugins to apply effects to the audio you are working with in VideoPad. To use this feature, select Audio Effects menu -> VST Plugins, and in the window that appears, you can browse for the directory on your computer that contains VST plugins - note that the plugins must be DLL files! Once you have specified a directory name, you should see a list of VST plugin names appear in a list in the window. Press the "Refresh" button, if you don't see your desired plugin in the list, but it is in the selected folder. Next, click the "OK" button to see the selected VST plugin effect window.
  9. To add captions, have the clip on the timeline and click the SUBTITLES icon on the Home menu toolbar. To add plain text or other text-like effects click the ADD TEXT button. The subtitles (captions) button opens the ST compose window. See... http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/content_subtitles.html When text is composed it becomes just another clip, and will automatically be placed on a higher track on the sequence. It can be positioned there. Clicking a text clip opens a rectangle under the preview window. Click that box and the text composition editor appears. See... http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/texttools.html Remember, clips (including text clips) placed on higher tracks override lower tracks. So, if an image is on track 1 and another on track 2, only the track 2 image will be seen, unless it is smaller than the track 1 image. In that case, track one will show in the background - picture-in-picture. See http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/tasks_watermarkspip.html
  10. Significant improvements have been made in speed and handling since the 6.x/7.x versions. And there will be more to come when a 64-bit program is released - date unknown. There are several ways to handle large, high-res files. Rarely are there problems with 1080 HD. Editing with proxies, even on high-end systems,, or PCs with less than high-end hardware, is not uncommon. https://tinyurl.com/y4r2jyn4 The upgrade policy is published in several places. Here's one... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/versions.html In reality, NCH is pretty generous, allowing a six-month window for free upgrades...and new releases are free for use, unlicensed, with limitations. Share a project and someone will check it out. Not the export, but the PORTABLE project. Just follow the PORTABLE PROJECT instructions here. The process is not difficult, talks only a few minutes and can be private. http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. It won't be passed on or retained. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to get a shareable, public link - not one that is restricted.
  11. What version of Videopad is being used? Try this one. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If the problem persists, check back here.
  12. Specifically, what version is being used? Try this one. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If no go, please share a problem project and someone will check it out. Don't upload the export, just the PORTABLE project folder as instructed here... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. It won't be passed on or retained. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to get a shareable, public link - not one that is restricted.
  13. Good to hear. A learning experience for everyone. Seems that the key is to neither add nor delete points. They must remain constant. Do post the finished gem. There's also the Show and Tell 'sticky' at the top of the forum where your efforts can be shared.
  14. You have added to a thread from 2016. If VP takes export time increases to the levels you mention then something isn't working right. That behavior isn't common, nor reported. A fault with the PC may be implicated. In VP, OPTIONS | DISK | Clear Unused Cache Files. Try an uninstall and reinstall. In the PC, increase RAM.
  15. Normal; dragging either handle of any clip, including clip 1, will shift the timeline but not alter the gap between clips 4 and 5. When the right handle for clip 4 is dragged left, the gap increases. First drag clip 2 slightly to the right, creating a small gap. Then the right-handle on clip one can be dragged left, to shorten that clip. To close the gap right-click in the blank space and CLOSE GAP. Sequence 1.mp4 Usually. Right-click | RESTORE LINKED. Try selecting the clips, then right-click and GROUP CLIPS. It's unclear precisely what is being done in your Q4 but keep in mind that higher tracks override lower tracks. Place a clip on track 1 and another immediately above it on track 2 and only track 2 will be seen - unless its size is smaller than track 1. In that case track 1 will be in the background - picture-in-picture.
  16. Using this test version, other than the aforementioned still that first appears at about 49 minutes, spotted no pixelation whatsoever. No tear-out, as in your still. Preview was a bit jerky, but export is clean, as shown below. What Videopad version are you using? Verify that your video driver and Direct-X are up to date on both PCs. AMD / ATI users: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx Intel users: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx nVidia users: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us Update DirectX: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/179113 Sequence 1.mp4
  17. Upload the source file/s. That's the only way we can see what you see and hopefully come up with a fix.
  18. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. So, your license code should be valid for any release within six-months of purchase. Of course, any version can be installed and tested - as a trial. Certain features won't be available. Old versions, with their dates of release, are available here. When you mention instability, specifically what is the issue? And what is the resolution of those "larger files?" How long is the project?
  19. The 50-minute file at that link is M.Moloney-J.Sachs.mp4. Scanning it briefly there appears to be only one badly pixelated file - at about 49:00. The reason is likely due to the source captured at a very low-resolution, but processed in VP at a higher res. Upload a few of the source files please.
  20. Is the pixelation evident in preview or only upon export? What are the source file/s and the export resolutions? Having them close to the same is often best. Upload a sample to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shareable, public non-restricted link and post it here. We'll take a look.
  21. Out of sync in preview as well, or just upon export? What version of Videopad is being used? Using any slo-mo effects? What are the export settings: format, resolution? If using AVI, try MP4. Try the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  22. Initially, added clips appear in the top-left BINs (tabs for video/audio/images).. They can be trimmed there... Drag the preview screen red-line cursor to the start point and SET START. Drag it to the end point and SET END. Then, on the sequence timeline, drag the cursor where you want the clip to be placed. Click the ADD button beneath the preview window and the clip appears at the cursor location. You can also simply drag clips in full to the sequence and trim out the parts desired, using the SPLIT scissors that pops up when clicking the cursor or via the SPLIT button under the PV window. The chevron to the right of that button provides options to split specific tracks. After trimming, and deleting the unneeded portions, drag the clips right or left to join them. To delete, select a clip and press the <del> key. Or right-click | DELETE. Or DELETE (ripple), which in most cases snaps all later clips to the left, eliminating the gap created by the deletion. GAPS can also be removed by a right-click on them and CLOSE GAP. Transitions cannot be added to clips in the bin. That process is done on the main timeline, after clips have been arranged and butted together. The X in each clip brings up transition choices. The FX icon in a clip is for effects, which also can be applied to the clips in the bin via a right-click | VIDEO/AUDIO EFFECTS. If that's done, the effects set there will be active when the clip is dropped onto the sequence. But this is not the case the other way around. If an effect is added to a clip on the sequence, it will not affect its source clip in the bin. Check out the tutorials.
  23. Specifically, what Videopad 'extra effects' would those be? https://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/en/support.html
  24. Ah, right you are. Get in touch with NCH; they will set it right. https://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html Note the very last link on the page. If no resolution, contact your credit card company.
  25. It's been more than six-months. No need to upgrade; 8.45 would be my recommendation.
