  1. After resolving files, don't close VP before using Save Project Files AS; it won't prompt. It will if something has been changed in the project itself. Why VP couldn't find the files initially is a mystery. Save AS often. Glad you sorted it out.
  2. 8.97 For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  3. Hard to say why this occurred?? Of course, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. When this is done, all the paths to source files should be just as they were at the time the project was saved.
  4. VP is the same for both operating systems. Here's the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Under OPTIONS | MEDIA tab, UNcheck "automatically normalize volume of external audio / video files."
  5. See this thread... https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/33483-moving-custom-video-effects-from-one-computer-to-another/?tab=comments#comment-91129
  6. The movement - 1:27 vs. 2:05 is apparent - but the cause isn't. Try Clearing Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS | DISK tab prior to making positional changes like this. You can also submit a report to NCH. Include a link to this thread. Click the chevron at the top-right of the VP window for a drop-down menu link.
  7. If these are simply sequences, export each. They will be clips that can be imported to the other PC. If they are effect templates, copy over this folder... "C:\Users\<PCname>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\VideoPad\EffectTemplate"
  8. Thanks for sharing your project. Using version 8.97, no issues here at 1080 export defaults after applying the Letterbox Aspect Ratio effect to the 'necklace' image at :41. You will want to check the spelling of "SALE" in the first slide.
  9. After more experimentation it appears that 'canned' project templates are working - at least those with placeholders - but do not merge with content on sequence 1. Several manually created templates with placeholders did, as the FAQ/HELP instructs. Instead, OPEN a template like "stacks" and hover images or video over placeholder clips until blank areas in the clip are gray/selected. Then drop. Shuffling of clips on tracks may be needed, owing to varying clip lengths. The resolution of the new material likely should be the same as the background. Iffy, and takes work.
  10. Perhaps a problem from your country? NCH is in Australia. Link supplied has always worked here. We'll see that your suggestions are passed along.
  11. Resolved via a Private Message Using 8.97, it doesn't freeze here. Exports losslessly at mp4 defaults in less than five seconds. Try an AVI export. Clear Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS | DISK tab, then reload the project. https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html Be sure that your video driver and Direct-X are up to date.
  12. Using version 8.97 here, there's nothing amiss in your project. As protection, a downloadable export was furnished.
  13. Humm... Tested your file in version 8.45 and it worked fine, as a video file. Retested using v8.97 on a low-end PC and that too succeeded, though loading of audio took about thirty-seconds. So, sorry, but cannot replicate your result. Try it on another machine, if available. One more thought. Using 8.97, click OPTIONS | MEDIA tab and uncheck "Automatically normalize volume of external audio." Be sure that your video driver and Direct-X are up to date. https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html
  14. Loaded up in less than fifteen seconds here, using VP version 8.97, which you apparently already have. So unable to replicate the issue. See if this version does the same, and report back. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  15. Let's see this video, so we can try to replicate what you see. Please share it by uploading to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive. Get a shareable (public) link, copy it and paste it here or in a Private Message to me (click the mail envelope at the right-top of this forum). What version of Videopad is being run? What's the format, resolution, and length of this file?
  16. Click OPTIONS | DISPLAY tab and tic Show Dual Previews. Then the sequence window will be to the right, and display the result of the positioning. If you use the buttons each entry should land exactly at the same spot. Five stacked lower-third text clips were created here and each precisely overlaid the others. Then the project was saved. Text hadn't moved when the project was reloaded after the cache had been cleared. Added another five, closed and reloaded and the initial group had not changed position. The crashes hint at PC video issues. Verify that the drivers and Direct-X are up to date, per the linked FAQ above.
  17. You don't have to be a wiz. Just follow the four steps in the earlier post here: back up, upload, get link, share. Someone will be glad to check out the problem.
  18. What's the URL of the error message? You tried the forum linked above? The 'free' version of Wavepad, though feature-limited, should not expire. https://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/wpsetup.exe To get the pop-up to change its position may require several installs. Last time here it took six.

    Track markers

If possible, share an example of how you are laying out these tracks. Is each song on a different track, or are they contiguous? It's best to minimize the # of tracks, especially if the files are large or 2K/4K, as program memory is limited. To share the project please follow these four steps carefully, and someone will check it out... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Locate the saved, numbered FOLDER, NOT the VPJ or export file. Upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Click COPY LINK | DONE. Share --- Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  20. At a cut point, the two files must be different video scenes. In this case, it appears that you have added a split where there is already a cut in the video. To dissolve between those scenes, shorten the FROM clip by a few seconds by dragging its right handle to the left. There always must be enough video on the FROM side to cover the transition length. Separate still image clips can be lengthened (or shortened) on the timeline simply by dragging their handles.
  21. Cache clearing won't help the situation above. VP can't transition between the two scenes because they are in reality the same. Yes, there are different images, but FROM and TO come from the same place in a single video file. Use different video for each part. Good luck!
  22. The issue is that the two clips are contiguous on the source clip. The transition is there, but won't show because the FROM clip is transitioning to exactly the same spot on the identical TO clip. Said another way: it's dissolving to itself - which won't work. Use other video or images for clip two and you will see that it works well.
  23. What version of Videopad is being used? Doesn't do what you describe here. If it plays at x2 on the timeline then that's how it should export. Please upload the project that exhibits the behavior and someone will check it out. This is easy, quick and can be private. Just follow these four steps closely... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Locate the saved, numbered FOLDER, NOT the VPJ file or the export. Upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* Get link --- Get a shared, public link.
  24. What version of VP is being used? Works just fine here. The new file should be in the bin, under the audio tab ... and in the MUSIC folder on the PC. Record_2020_11_22_13_02_53_954.wmv
  25. Is the vanishing audio linked to the video that is being cut? That would explain it. If it's not linked, then cutting the video should have no affect on the audio. Pressing the L key to make a split also won't delete audio - it simply creates a split on all tracks.
