  1. Hints at missing components. On the PC delete all files in these folders... "C:\Users\<PCname>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components" "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components" or similar path without the (x86). Then reinstall the program as administrator.
  2. Not really. Tested my revised project in another low-end PC and no problem there. Did the revised (AVI) work in Videopad? What are your PC's specs: GPU/CPU/free space on C:\ and RAM? Tough to diagnose if the issue cannot be replicated. Uninstall. Then try reinstalling as Administrator via a right-click on the installer file.
  3. Strange. Loads instantaneously and normally here in 8.99. Be sure that your video driver and Direct-X are up to date... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html Log in to this forum, grab the attachment here, unzip it and run the VPJ file to load it into Videopad. Any better? Try the original on another PC, if available. Kids_soccer_AVI.zip
  4. First thing - upgrade to the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Even if unregistered, you can still test whether there is improvement. If not, report back.
  5. WavePad is closely integrated with Videopad and does any number of conversions. Depending upon the circumstance, right-clicking on an audio clip may present an "Edit With Wavepad" option if the program is installed. When the file loads in WP, click FILE | SAVE AS, select mp3 and okay the prompts. For the sequence save, just load the WAV into Wavepad and do the same. Done.
  6. Update to the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Everything sounded and looked fine. If the issue persists come back here.
  7. Note that there are two rotation effects. Experiment with them both. For virtual choir projects, which can exact lots of processing, be sure to review this... https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/31824-tips-on-building-a-multi-person-virtual-choir/ How it's constructed is important, or the results, especially export, could be problematic. It's very easy to export audio only from VP... For a clip, right-click on the audio track - "Save Audio File as New File." For the project (all audio channels), click the bin Sequences tab and right-click on the active sequence - "Save Sequence Audio as New File."
  8. This WEBM is fine in a media player. By itself it loads A/V but video is washed out. When loaded via the VPJ, VP sees it as audio only. Another editor reports that the file is "non-standard" and won't display it. Suggest recording in another format if available or possibly converting the existing file.
  9. If understood correctly, this isn't the case. <Ctrl> isn't needed when dragging a track. And individual clips definitely can be dragged. Stacking is common in 'virtual choir' projects. The attachment below may now be accessible when logged in. If not, we'll go another route. Do trim your project and share the problematic portion - here, ideally, so others can weigh in. You might want to check out these 3D references... https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=Videopad+3d Drag.wmv
  10. If Z is defined as forward/back, ROTATE and SCALE effects keyframing might simulate it. But this may not be what you are describing. Upload and share the project so others can see the clips and effects that you have programmed. Nat, in particular, may have better insight. Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Locate the saved, numbered FOLDER, NOT the VPJ or export file. Upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Click COPY LINK | DONE. Share --- Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server. As for the other issue, you might be better off first combining clips as mentioned earlier. There's another way of accomplishing that, though it does add a sequence... Follow the earlier instructions on pasting the selected clips to a new Sequence 2. Then click the Sequences tab in the bin, right-click on Sequence 2 and replace the original content with that sequence. You may or may not see the audio track, but it is there. Flip_scale.mp4

  12. It's likely not the format (mp4, AVI, MOV, etc.) but the resolution that is throwing out the alignment. When creating the project, did you use MATCH MONITOR, which should closely mirror what the export should look like? Upload your project, so folks here can take a look. Someone will spot the problem. 13. Add the TRANSPARENCY effect to track 3. At the head, set opacity to zero. Move the scrubber (red line) to where you want the fade to begin and click the small green + sign, to set a keyframe. Move the line to where you want the fade to end and drag the blue line in the effects graph to the bottom, or set the slider at 100%. The result will look something like this... Sky remains on screen for a short time, then fades out. The closer the keyframes (squares on the blue line) are to one another - horizontally - the quicker the fade.
  14. Click the FX button on the 'space' track 3 clip and use the MOTION effect to scale and position it, if this is what you have in mind. Picture-in-picture. All tracks should align, one atop of the other. The overlay is shorter than the background and music, so it needs to be lengthened.
  15. Can't say when UNsplit is available, but after moving on with editing it often isn't. Perhaps someone else has discerned a pattern. My guess is that UNsplit becomes unavailable if any transitions or effects have been added to the split clips. The first video linked in a later post (for a short while) was a split clip, made as suggested earlier. The numbers for the second half were taken from those seen to the right of the sliders, so there was no need for calculation. Video #2 isn't precisely the effect you have in mind, as with #1, but the logic appears to apply. Upper tracks take precedence over lower tracks, so if your image is to be in front it would normally be on a higher track.
  16. Can't spot an issue with this, using the split-screen effect 2x2 grid for tracks 1 and 2 with your sky clip on track 3, scaled and positioned via the MOTION effect. A thin blue border has been added for definition. Update to the latest release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. 17. UNsplit shows up in the right-click context menu only when available. If it's not there, an alternative would be to copy the clips to another sequence. Select the two clips, press <ctrl-C>, open a new sequence by clicking the + to the right of the Sequence 1 tab, press <ctrl-V>. Export that sequence. Replace the original with this clip. Length will be the same. Another approach, to animate over the course of two clips (whether they are actually the same clip or not) might be to take note of the animation parameters at the end of clip one, and begin with the same parameters at the start of clip 2. Then continue the animation to the end.
  18. Use ZOOM instead. Or SCALE the image after a CROP.
  19. It's not a feature, but would be a nice addition Suggest it. https://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html?software=VideoPad

    Export fails

That's a shame. Looked great here, exported from two PCs, as witnessed by the download that was supplied. Good luck!
  21. The "no audio" issue can be caused by a number of factors. Use the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. The only way to track this down is for others to replicate the issue. Please share the file by uploading it to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive. Get a shareable (public) link, copy the link and post it here or in private via the envelope at the top-right of this forum (Personal Messenger). If using Google, change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view." Someone here will be glad to check it out. Answers usually come quickly.
  22. It should be possible to crop, position and blur a small, clean portion of the same shot and overlay it atop the flaw. In essence, picture-in-picture. Tracking movement would be the tough part but, dependent upon content, not impossible. Mask tracking is yet another approach. Upload the clip and someone will take a look. Use a free server, get a shareable (public) link, copy that link and paste it here (or in private via Personal Messenger). If using Google Drive for upload be sure to change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."

    Export fails

This appears to be a local PC issue. Tested it on two PCs, one low-end. It exported flawlessly on both. Download the result from the link above. 8.99 appears to be within the six-month free upgrade period after purchase of your current version, so you should be able to install it and use your existing registration. Some things to try... Reboot the PC. Verify that the video driver and Direct-X are up to date... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html Test the project on another PC.
  24. Mention the specs of your PC and what version of VP you are using. What is the resolution of the bulk of the source files? There's no longer a provision for PV resolution adjustment, but you can drag the window to smaller dimensions. After the project fully caches (green line above the thumbnails) there should be minimal if any stuttering. Under OPTIONS | EDITING tab, toggle the "Use Hardware Acceleration" item to see if that has an effect. Verify that your video driver and Direct-X are up to date. https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html Let's take a look at your project and see how it performs here. It's easy, quick and can be totally private. Just carefully follow these four steps... Share your project. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. Export fails

Looks perfect, exported at default mp4 settings in version 8.99. Update and see if that fixes the issue. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
