  1. Your comments in the other dated thread have been consolidated here. You are seeing correct behavior when mixing stereo and single track MONO clips. Convert the left-channel only clip to center-channel MONO in Wavepad, as suggested earlier. Then adding it to the otherwise stereo track will retain all stereo content and pan will work too. When recording, record both left and right channels - even if there's no stereo - and this won't happen. A left-channel only recording won't pan right because there is no audio on the right channel. If using the free/trial version of course you will be prompted to license. The company can't stay in business if no one buys. But Videopad will continue to function with limited features, and no watermark. Overall seems a generous approach.
  2. Let's have a look at that file. Please upload it to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shareable (public) link, copy the link and post it here or in private to me via the mail envelope at the top-right of this forum. We'll check it out and come up with a fix.
  3. Did you try right-clicking an image in the bin, then applying the PLACE ON SEQUENCE AT START item? Or PLACE AT CURSOR? Let's see what you're doing. Proceed as far a you can, leaving the images in the bin. Then follow these steps. Someone will solve the mystery... Sharing your project is easy, quick and can be done privately. Do this... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Click COPY LINK | DONE. Share --- Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  4. Smacks of a hardware issue, as some older, low-end machines do quite well with simple Videopad projects. But we'll have to take a look to get to the bottom of this. Share your project. Someone will very likely come up with a fix. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... 5. Your confusion is understandable; it's not an intuitive concept but one used on many editors. The clip length isn't the issue. It's how much content is available at the join - where the transition is to be. To illustrate... Place a number of your clips on the timeline, then at a cut point between two of them delete a few seconds from the end of the FROM clip and from the start of the TO CLIP. Now program a transition. No prompt...because there is now enough excess content (the segments trimmed out of the original clips) to cover the transition duration. The source clip, up in the bin, is not affected and still contains the full clip.
  6. This is intended behavior with transparent images, which will go to track 2 as an overlay. Non-transparent stills will go to track 1, unless OVERLAY has been specified, as tested and working here in the latest release. If a release is working well there's no mandate to update. Version changes are often incremental and can always be test driven, unlicensed. Just retain the purchased installer and registration info. Check out new features, and glitches, and see if the newer release offers anything you want. Unless you have installed an older version that's somewhat incompatible with a project made with a later release it normally won't prompt for upgrades - at least that's the case with purchased releases. It's best to edit and export with the same version, or a closely dated relative. It's unclear what is meant by "transition still isn't working." Upload a project that demonstrates the issue. Just follow these steps. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. 7. Seems fine. "Not enough material for overlapping transition" is a message never seen here. Under OPTIONS | EDITING tab | Video Clip Transitioning it's likely set to ASK. Clip length isn't the issue. What makes the difference is whether there is sufficient excess at the end of the FROM clip and the head of the TO clip to cover the dissolve length. If not, it will prompt. Choose FREEZE and each clip will be frozen at halfway through the trans, which is usually fine for quick transitions. Choose OVERLAY and the clips will be shifted to make room, which can throw off sync on independent audio tracks. If possible, upgrade to the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Record_2020_11_29_16_06_04_529.wmv
  8. Put several clips that do this on your timeline, where you want crossfades between them. Then follow these instructions... Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. 9. Didn't check it, but believe that the default OPTIONS time is solid. It's the multiple duration changes in the bin or on the timeline that are inconsistent. Have linked a project in a Private Message that demonstrates the issue. In this one, changes made in the bin are consistent, though there have been instances when they are not... But try the same on track 7 - either via "change speed" or "change duration." Here, that generates odd timings.
  10. Nat, Experimentation here has shown that neither of our methods always succeed... Often, multiple stills in the bin or on the timeline can be selected and their duration changed via the "duration" or "clip speed" boxes. But at others, seemingly random durations are generated on the selected clips. Version 8.45 did the same. Tested it on a multi-image project and was unable to get consistent durations...or spot a reason why. It's been reported.
  11. ||< to go left Lock the track/s you don't want affected. Clips to the right must be selected, or unwanted things will happen. To do that easily use the standard Windows convention of selecting the first, holding down <shift> and selecting the last. If clips snap back after they are moved, hold down <alt> while dragging them.
  12. Usually, the techniques mentioned in this thread will succeed... https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/33531-changing-duration-of-multiple-still-images/?tab=comments#comment-91287
  13. Whatever works. Here, cannot replicate your result no matter what FX button is clicked prior to applying a -5 saturation effect.

Are you attempting to add a video to a Videopad project, or export the project? If the former, please upload the video file to a free server, get a shareable link, copy the link and paste it here or in private to me via the envelope at the top-right of this forum. 15. It should succeed with CUSTOM resolutions as well, to a point. So the issue could be elsewhere - especially if there are multiple tracks or large UHD files. In any case, glad it worked out.
  16. Unable to dupe what you demo, but would suggest applying the effect to all clips initially, instead of first applying it to the sped-up area. As suggested earlier, with that speed consider pre-producing the clip and exporting it - to be added into the final project.
  17. The transparency effect was employed before the scale and position effects. But should transparency be retained when those effects are added?
  18. https://www.nch.com.au/software/bug.html?software=VideoPad Don't have any info on the 64-bit version, except that it's being developed and tested.
  19. What version of Videopad is being used? What are the export settings? THE best way to track this down is for you to share the project. It's easy, quick and can be private. Someone will come up with an answer. Follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. 20. Don't know what to suggest ... but to file a bug report with those specifics. Reference this thread.
  21. Followed your procedure, using this version... 1. Added a :30 wmv clip 2. Chopped out four sections 3. Split out a short portion of the middle and applied 800 speed 4. Added EXPOSURE -.05 to the entire clip Repeated the experiment with an mp4 A/V speed during the split-out section remained at 800 in both tests, so unable to replicate your findings That said, for best results suggest that you pre-export clips with aggressive speed changes, then import then into the sequence.
  22. Caching speeds up rendering. According to Techwalla "Video rendering can be one of the most hardware-demanding processes for a computer, especially when it's done in real time." For UHD, when hardware is marginal or server is slow or space-limited, Proxy editing enhances editing response by substituting lower-res files. This applies to other NLEs as well. In a project with hundreds of edits -5 temp and saturation effects were added to all clips, then several speed changes were applied to clips that had been stabilized. They played normally during PV and export. When this doesn't go smoothly, pre-prep can help. Independently export a speed-changed clip, perhaps from a temporary new sequence, then insert it into the project. When the 64-bit Videopad version arrives (no target date) performance will ramp up - especially on large UHD content.
  23. Saving the project, which creates the VPJ file, mirrors exactly what's on the timeline, the effects, transitions, etc. If there are INS/OUTS to close, right-click between them and CLOSE GAP. If all material is on track one, use Storyboard mode for a better view of the gaps. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite
  24. Excisions can be made on the timeline. Create identical splits, which represent the INS and OUTS, in both the video track and audio 3. In the newly split-out area select both the video track and audio 3, then press DEL. This cuts audio 2 as well - it's linked to video. But it's muted, so you don't care.
  25. Understand what you're after now. Above, the TRANS effect was added first. Slight difference. TRANSPARENCY produces borders less opaque than Paint.Net. If you feel that it should do better, file a bug report with specifics. Reference this thread. https://www.nch.com.au/software/bug.html?software=VideoPad
