  1. Caching and, purportedly, GPU usage, have been improved considerably through the years. Much is related to hardware. When this low-end gaming GPU/CPU replaced a respectable yet dated box responsiveness and speed improved significantly. As you've seen, low-end NLEs leave a lot lacking and those targeted to commercial production extract a tough learning curve and usually a hefty subscription price. VP is marketed somewhere in the middle. It is continuously updated, which accounts for some of the glitches that crop up. Most are obscure. Those that can be replicated are quickly dealt with.
  2. When the project is backed up it will create a folder like this. That's the one to upload and share. If using Google, don't forget to change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  3. Specifically, what bug was that and how were you informed? For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Older versions are available here. Ignore any virus prompts. And your old installer should be found in this path on your PC... "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad" or similar, but without the (x86). Re-register it if necessary.
  4. Hard to verify unless we see the project. Your 'rating' is likely based on your copious complaints. 🤣
  5. Let's take a look at the project that produced the 'new version' - not the export. We'll check it out. Share it by following these four easy, quick steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Locate the saved, numbered FOLDER, NOT the VPJ or export file. Upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Click COPY LINK | DONE. Share --- Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  6. Button, line, bracket placements are relevant to timeline expansion. Do a quick reinstall if other measures fail. Not to claim that there are no glitches in the program, but the bulk of your woes seem due to unfamiliarity. Hopefully, that will abate in time.
  7. AFAIK, there's never been a case where an audio effect button fails to respond. The first suggestion is to Clear Unused Cache Files. An alternative to changing gain on the audio track is to double-click it, then drag the line in preview, to create keyframes. Beyond that, troubleshooters need to see the project. 8. Note the slider #s. You can also copy an effect, using the white/blue envelope on the toolbar. It's then an effects icon at the bottom of the window, to be applied to other clips.
  9. This forum is very active. The best way to get help is to share your project. Someone will take a look and usually a fix comes quickly. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. 10. VP may be handling this correctly as a viewer here also displays the line as full-screen, horizontal. Scale it to the size you want, then right-click in the preview window and Take Snapshot. Use that instead of the original.
  11. Prior to positioning or scaling the images, try applying the Letterbox Aspect ratio effect. Click on it. There's a drop-down box with many ratios to choose from. An effect, or several, can be saved by clicking the envelope in the effects toolbar. Then it becomes just another clickable effect in the list (at the bottom). Effects can be applied to ALL selected clips via the toolbar "Replace effect chain" green button, second from the right. If these measures don't do the job, please share your project. 12. That should pose no problem. How long is the project? Upload and share it and someone here will check it out.
  13. Answer these questions, please: What version of Videopad? What is the type and resolution of the bulk of the source files? What are your export settings. The best way to solve this is to share the project. That's easy, quick and can be private. Just follow these steps carefully... 14. Specifically, what transition do you feel was removed since 2.41? Many have been added.
  15. There are several ways to do that. Perhaps the easiest is to click the blue ] bracket when creating a split... Sometimes, there's blank space on the sequence after the last content. Right-click in that area and CLOSE GAP IN SEQUENCE.
  16. Try applying the 16x9 Letterbox effect to the tile. If that doesn't work, upload and share the file here.
  17. Good advice, but note the date on the post to which you replied.
  18. They surely aren't. But the file is the problem, not Videopad. It's progressively out of sync in WMP or MPC-BE media players. Suggest you check into the Debut forum. Try a different output/export type in Debut - such as mp4.
  19. Try AVI export. It normally works fine in the limited-feature trial releases. If not, install this version. Or purchase a license.
  20. Try applying the 16x9 Letterbox effect to the phone vid. If it doesn't succeed, upload the two images/videos so someone can take a look.
  21. Your bold statements were noted, and promising. Strangeness happens...like the fact that this PC was unresponsive this morn for no apparent reason. Again, please share the file. Good luck.
  22. What's the format of the file? What version of Videopad is being used? Is it out of sync on the timeline or after export? If the latter, what are the settings? Try the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. 23. Hints at a hardware issue. Share the file and others will compare their performance to yours.
  24. Seems to be doing just what you intended... Image 1 told to place at start. It did. Image 2 if told to place at start did just that, moving image 1 to slot 2. If the cursor was at the end of image 1 when instructed to place image at cursor it should have done that. Does here. To ensure that the cursor is precisely at the cut point use the buttons under the preview window - or <shift - right/left arrow keys>.
