I've seen this done with text overlays but I can't figure out images.

I have a transparent image I want to overlay on the video, but overlaying it causes it to be stretched to fill the screen and positioned in the middle. Trouble is, adding any effect (scale, position, movement, etc) causes the image to become 100% opaque: https://imgur.com/a/NP487P0 At first I thought the trick was to add the "Transparency" effect last in the chain, but that affects the parts that weren't transparent in the original (in this instance the dark lines are opaque to give a clear outline - but this 'fix' causes the lines to be as transparent as the coloured parts). I can'

Hi Do many people use .gif images in their projects? VP does not handle this type of file correctly as it interprets it as a video clip of a single frame. Consequently you cannot extend the duration and this makes it virtually useless. Unfortunately .gif images can be created with a transparent background making them very useful for logos and "object" animation where movement over a background is needed. In VP, although the background comes up transparent, you can't do anything with them since as I said, they come up as a single, unalterable frame clip and not an image which is a g

Hi NCH Is their a bug in videos exported as .gif ?? Just noticed while checking out a forum thread that although individual frames of an animation exported as a .gif play OK and so produce the animated movement required, they do not delete the previous frame of the sequence as they should. Each frame is therefore retained. As any background transparency is also retained, an object set up to move across the screen leaves a trail. This does not happen in VP only in the exported clip . ...... e.g. This is a screenshot of an exported .gif clip. A football with a transparent backgr

I have a lot of VideoPad projects that I use as templates for my videos, such as intros and YouTube thumbnails, but version 4.58 has altered them significantly, and here's why: 1. Shadows are less visible. I have a video effect template that consists of 3 shadow effects, and each one of them is set to 1.00 in opacity, and 20.00 in blurriness. In 4.48 and older, the end result looked great because you could lay multiple shadows on top of each other, while in 4.58, trying to do this only seems to make it larger. In comparison, using the video effects with the same exact properties makes the

"Default" transparency effects in 3.81 show up in effects and normal preview, and on the thumbnail, but not on the sequence after APPLY is clicked. Same for a SAVED "custom" transparency. However, if a transparency effect is combined with certain other effects, it does display in the sequence.

Hi there, I am having difficulty adding watermarks to my video correctly. I have a .png file that I would like to use with a transparent background. However, I add the watermark to the video, the background of the file appears to be black instead of transparent. Am I doing something incorrectly, or is this a bug with this version of the software? I'm using v2.12 Thanks in advance. (Alternatively, is there an easier way to add white text with a black outline to a video with this version of the software?)
