  1. Assuming yours is a licensed version, try 7.51. It works here are shown in the image above. Chances are it will be within your six-month free registration period.
  2. Not seeing that in the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Created by simply pressing <enter> between each line.
  3. Occasionally, YouTube rejects VP-direct exports, ostensibly due to data limits. Uploading in the middle of the night may prove successful. Save your work as an mp4 file, then use the YT uploader. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/57407?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en Does that succeed? As for editing, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you can restore a project to the state it was in when saved. Just double-click the VPJ file (which isn't playable).
  4. To change an audio fade after using Fade Out, double-click the audio track. The clip waveform will appear in preview. Drag the square (keyframe) to the desired position. You can create new keyframes by dragging the blue line. To delete a keyframe, right-click on it. Not clear on your "even stranger" query. Please post a link to a screenshot to illustrate the audio curve that gets superimposed atop the track. Upload your screenshot to a free server, get a shareable (public link) and paste it here.
  5. Lock the tracks that you don't want affected. Right-click at the left of the track and LOCK TRACK. The dotted lines show up on overlays. If the overlay (higher track) image is smaller than the lower track you should see them both (picture-in-picture) and can position the overlay by dragging the overlay image. Or manipulate it with the handles in the preview screen. Mouse over the handles (dots/squares) - a pop up should appear to indicate what each does. Of course. 6. Strange. Reboot. Then install the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If you saved the project, clicking on the VPJ control file should restore it - as long as the source files have not been deleted or moved. The VPJ is normally found in the same folder as the source files, but you can do a PC search for it. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. 7. In version 8.84, not seeing snapping here when drawing a polygon mask around a figure. And the Caps key has never been a factor AFAIK. The grid in the effects box can be toggled on/off with the icon at the far right-bottom of the box.
  8. Have never seen a report of a configured audio effect not being shown when the FX button is later pressed. Just tested it here in v8.84 and it works correctly. You certain that the white X in the effect header hasn't been inadvertently clicked, which would cancel the effect? Try a reinstall. For the Fade Out, first move the scrubber (red cursor) to the desired start position for the fade. Then apply the effect, using "to the end of effect from the cursor position." The Fade Out effect won't be shown in the audio effects box - it's actually a transition. Right-clicking on the audio track lists several fade options. What you get should look like this...
  9. If they match, then there's no reason the titles should be playing at the head of the timeline. Before you go to the trouble of uploadiing, SAVE PROJECT FILE AS, giving it a unique # or name so as not to overwrite prior saves. Then close VP and relaunch it. Before loading anything, click the OPTIONS menu | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Now, reload your project by clicking the VPJ file.
  10. Nope. Here's what's missing - though they all appear to be the same file. If it's indeed 1:16:18 it may take hours to upload. Be sure that there's available free space on the Google Driver server. Your allocation there is shared by ALL Google Services, including mail. Does the image in my earlier post resemble the timeline layout in your project?
  11. That's only the VPJ control file. We need the entire FOLDER, as described above. It will contain all the source files as well. What version of VP?
  12. Tough to visualize what's going on, but it obviously isn't right. What version of Videopad is being used? As you describe it, the single-track timeline should look something like this. Video - title text - video - credit text. Is that what you see? Take a few minutes to upload your project so someone can take a look. This is easy and can be private. Just follow these four steps... 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. Locate the saved, numbered folder and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* (Don't upload the export file or only the VPJ.) 3. Get a shared, public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Click the blue "Change to anyone with the link..." Then click COPY LINK | DONE. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  13. Be sure that your video drivers and Direct-X are up to date. https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html v8.84 here. Pop up appears on mouseover... Record_2020_10_01_10_18_42_356.mp4https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.htm
  14. Note the second Value # in the pop up when mousing over a keyframe. File suggestions by clicking the chevron at the top-right of the VP window.

    Re-caching

Intel I7 late generation or comparable. NVidia 1060 or above. In the future expect VP to better utilize GPU for effects. A knowledgeable builder can be especially helpful in choosing appropriate, quality hardware for your 'sweet spot.' No need to break the bank. Hardware recommendations for the more complex and costly NLEs you mention apply to VP and editing in general.
  16. And of course. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then clicking the VPJ will restore a project to the state it was in when saved.😄.

    Re-caching

There's no one answer, but as video editing is resource intensive a game-class PC is often recommended. Check this out and search the WEB for similar articles. Consider a custom build, by a qualified high-end shop. You may see a speed improvement immediately. And when Videopad 64-bit arrives (no target date), handling of complex projects, huge files and ultra-high resolutions will be enhanced, to take even better advantage of your new hardware.
  18. Some insights... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10231.html https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/24123-feature-request-anamorphic-mpeg-720x576-widescreen-export/ You can test drive VP on a trial basis. https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/vpsetup.exe
  19. Your issue is fully understood. Requesting your files to see if stabilization fails here is an effort to sleuth the cause. Please understand that folks in this forum, with rare exception, do not work or speak for NCH. To request a debug version the official support channel may be your best bet... https://tinyurl.com/r89tpcw If you received a debug version in the past, contact the party who supplied it.
  20. It's not so much quality control as it may be 32-bit app limitation. A 64-bit version (no timeline) will considerably improve large file/resolution handling. Most woes you have had seem related to unfamiliarity with VP. Missing effects/clips hint at a memory issue, though that's rare for a 26:40 minute, 1080 project. Folks here will check it if you take the time to upload and share per the above four-step process. As suggested earlier, in lieu of H265, stick with H264 all the way, or try the MPEG4 compressor - perhaps under the AVI format. Breaking a project into several parts, exporting each, then merging those composited clips for final export is an approach worthy of consideration.
  21. Proxy editing, using low-res files in place of the originals, will make caching and rendering go much more smoothly than with the large original files. However, there could be program memory issues upon export. Someone here will suggest the best way to proceed if you take the time to upload and share the project, as outlined above. Breaking the project into shorter segments, exporting each and later merging those for final export is worth a try. In the end it may turn out that your experiment with reducing video file size by lower level conversion, keeping 1080p at 30 fps but at much lower bitrate before loading into VideoPad is the most practical approach - at the expense of some quality. In the future (no timeline) a 64-bit version of VP should considerably improve working with very large files/resolutions.
  22. No such. Make a suggestion by clicking the chevron at the top-right of the Videopad window.
  23. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you can restore a project to the state it was in when saved. Just double-click the VPJ file (which isn't playable). You say you "launched it." Do you mean that it took a long time to export? Or did it take a long time for a saved project to be reloaded into VP? What is the length of the project and what is the resolution of the majority of the source files?
  24. Try an H264 AVI export. Try a MPEG4 AVI export. Upload and share the project. What is the resolution of the bulk of the source files?
  25. Try this... Select the clips, right-click on one and GROUP SELECTED CLIPS.
