  1. If you are within six-months of purchase, just click the Menu at the top-left and re-register it with your license code. If you need to revert to your earlier licensed version - or one that was released within the free upgrade period - simply reinstall it. Installers are normally saved in "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad" or a similar path without the x86. If you are happy with the VP, there's no mandate to upgrade. But new features can always be test driven by downloading an unlicensed trial version.
  2. Doesn't snap here in version 8.45, when <alt> is held after dragging and before letting up on the mouse button. In some builds it's not necessary to use <alt>. Don't attempt to move a single clip. Select them all - to the end - then drag the group to the right to increase the gap. test.mp4
  3. Answer a few questions. What version of VP is being used? What are your export settings? Install this version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If this doesn't remedy the issue, please share your project so others can see and hear it as you do. This is easy, quick and can be private. Just follow these steps... 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. Locate the saved, numbered folder. No need to upload the export or VPJ files. Upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* 3. Get a shared, public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Click the blue "Change to anyone with the link..." Then click COPY LINK | DONE. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  4. Checked the clip, and it sounds fine in this version. Upgrade if possible. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  5. What is the format of the clip? Have any audio effects been applied? Upload and share the clip.
  6. Various conversion utilities are available. Try NCH PRISM, free to test. Make the initial recording in different format, if possible.
  7. Don't believe the aspect ratio options were available in that version. Upgrade if possible to the one linked above. Even if unlicensed, you should be able to test the suggested scenarios. Export at AVI usually succeeds in unlicensed releases. Retain any installer files or registration code. Best bet is to share the content privately.
  8. You haven't stated your version #. Try this one where those options are available. Or try zooming the BG image larger. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  9. Can't say why there's a discrepancy, but results may be improved through the use of Color Correction and Exposure effects.
  10. Apply the LETTERBOX effect to your background image. See if that does the deed. If using an old version try this. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  11. What version of VP is being used? Test other export aspect ratios. Also try the CROP choice, instead of LETTERBOX, in the export settings box. You need not share with the public. Any project sent to me via personal messenger is private and will be discarded as soon as the issue is resolved. Just click the folder at the top-right of this forum and direct the file to "borate." The usual chromakey (green screen) procedure is to first place a background image. Then overlay (higher track) the high-contrast image to be keyed. Size and position it as desired. Open the green screen effect and adjust settings. The green (or whatever color was chosen to be keyed out) will vanish and the background will be seen in its place. http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/tasks_chromakey.html
  12. Try other export aspect ratio options, instead of the suggested auto match content. Upload and share the project.
  13. What is the resolution of the source files? What are the export settings? What version of VP is being used? Share the project and someone will check it out. This is quick, easy and can be private.
  14. OPTIONS menu | DISK tab. Clear Unused Cache Files. Or delete the files in this PC folder. "C:\Users\<your PC name>\AppData\Local\Temp\VideoPadCache"
  15. Let's see that specific file. Sharing is easy: just upload it to a free server, get a shareable (public) link and post that link here, or in a private message (click the folder at the top-right of this forum). If you upload to Google Drive, be sure to click the "restricted" link and change that to "anyone can view." Someone here will check it out.
  16. Install this version. Ignore any virus warnings. Lock all tracks except the audio and video for the one you want to change. To widen a gap, select the first clip to the right of the gap, hold down <shift> and select the last clip in the sequence on that track. When those clips are dragged to the right they will all move in concert. If the clips snap back when dragged, hold down the <alt> key while dragging. To insert new clips, drag them to the track or right-click | PLACE CLIP AT CURSOR POSITION or PLACE ON SEQUENCE. After the new content is inserted, CLOSE GAP.
  17. Just wait until the 64-bit version is released.😊 No target date. Make your wishes known by clicking the chevron at the top-right of the VP window - the suggestions/bugs link. As for new functions and changes: this is about it.
  18. Now that the issue has been spotted, it will be fixed. There's no need to update if the version you have is doing the job. The program will continue to function indefinitely. However, as mentioned, you can update for free within six-months of purchase without additional cost. You can also check out the latest for free anytime; there may be new features or fixes (or bugs😉). Just retain your old installer file. It's usually saved in "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad" or a similar path without the x86.
  19. Any update within six months of purchase doesn't require payment, so although this is a slightly older version if you recently purchased you should be good. You may not even need to input your registration code. If problems arise, use the link above to contact NCH. Here's an even more recent stable version that also should do the job.
  20. Install this version and see if results are better.
  21. If you create a VP back-up folder as instructed above, it will contain copies of all source files and the VPJ control file, and look something like this... Upload that single folder to the server, get a shareable (public) link and post it here, or privately to me via the mail folder at the top-right of this forum. If using Google Drive be sure to change "restricted" to "anyone can view." It's not necessary to upload any exports that may have been made. As for your license, you should be able to re-register easily. Click the Menu at the top-left, then scroll to the bottom and click the Register item. You do not have to pay again. If you don't have your license code, visit here and they will take care of you... https://tinyurl.com/yc962a9g
  22. Has the audio track inadvertently been muted? If that's the case, no PLAY audio will be heard, but clicking individual clips in the bin (top-left) will play.
  23. Specifically, what function has been removed in the Mac version?
  24. If you saved the project, you're protected. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you can restore a project to the state it was in when saved. UNinstall VP via Control Panel | PROGRAMS AND FEATURES. Then go to this folder on your PC and delete all the files that it contains... "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components" --- or a similar path without the (x86) Reinstall VP. If things are the same, folks here will be glad to help you. Just share your project. It's easy to do and can be private. Follow these steps... 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. Locate the saved, numbered folder - not the export file or only the VPJ.
  25. This may be about as close as it gets... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/versions.html
