  1. If you are attempting to overlay a scaled down head over a background body on a lower track, click the VIEW icon and chose Clip + Background.
  2. You have replied to a three-year old thread. Please start a new topic with a descriptive subject.
  3. What Videopad release is being used? Run this version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. There's no mandate to upgrade, and newer versions can always be test driven as a trial. If the export issue persists, share it here or in private. Fixes are often simple. Just follow these steps... 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. Locate the saved, numbered folder. No need to upload the export or VPJ files. Upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* 3. Get a shared, public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Click the blue "Change to anyone with the link..." Then click COPY LINK | DONE. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  4. UNlink video and audio if necessary via a right-click on either track. You might even lock the audio track. Right-click at the left of the track to see that choice. Use the chevron to the right of the the split button to split only the video track at the freeze point. Take a snapshot via a right-click in the preview window. The still will appear under the bin Image tab. Insert that still at the freeze point on the timeline and drag its handles to the desired pause length. Freeze.mp4
  5. Various effects may have an affect on resolution. Check them out.
  6. Nat proposes an excellent method for saving multiple, individual text files. For example, you might save ALL text clips from a project... First, save the completed project. Use save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you can restore a project to the state it was in when saved. Just double-click the VPJ file (which isn't playable). Then delete all but the text file tracks in the project and SAVE AS once again, giving it a unique name - such as TEXT FILES. Be careful! Do NOT use Save Project File (no AS) or click the Save Project icon on the toolbar. That will overwrite your main project. Click the chevron to its right, to reveal the Save AS choice. In future projects, bring in the saved text.vpj file as Nat instructs and all those text clips will be available.
  7. You have a zillion clips there. What happens when the timeline is expanded? Move the slider to the right.
  8. What version of VP is now being used? That's shown at start up and at the bottom-left of the VP screen. If it's been less than six-months since initial purchase, updates are free. No need to pay again. Try exporting to AVI format, using the MPEG4 compressor. Try exporting at a lower resolution. Other than that, there's little more to suggest than what was requested in your Sept. 25 post. Please share the project. Someone will check it out and come up with a fix. This can be private via a personal message to me. Click the folder at the top-right of this forum. Just follow these steps... 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. Locate the saved, numbered folder and upload it to a free server. ( No need to upload the export file or only the VPJ.) 3.
  9. Click the + sign to the right of the Sequence 1 tab above the timeline to open a new, blank sequence. From the IMAGES tab in the bin (top-left), drag the clip to the timeline. Click EXPORT | VIDEO on the toolbar and export the clip as an APNG file. That video file title can then be used in future projects and can be resized, positioned, etc via the EFFECTS menu. Set the sequence mode to MATCH MONITOR to get an idea of how it will look in export. MATCH CONTENT may show smaller text.
  10. What version of VP is being used? You are downloading a YT video, loading it into Videopad and then attempting to export? What method are you using to d/l from YouTube? Share one of the videos that you have downloaded and someone here will check it out. Very easy and quick. Upload it to a free server such as MS OneDrive, make it public and get a shareable link. Post that link here.
  11. If you enter the ID it should lead you to a page where the code will be generated. If not, get in touch with NCH; they will take care of you... https://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html Keep in mind that if audio and video are linked, as with most clips, moving one will move the other, and locking one will lock the other.

    CPU vs GPU

There may be some improvements in GPU usage in the next version. Keep an eye out. Any release can be test driven, to see if new features appeal.
  13. Trust you were able to download the export. The issue seems to boil down to a seven-hour file, of which only two-hours and thirty-eight minutes is active conference content. Likely too much for VP to handle. When trimmed in another program, eliminating all but the conference, the resulting re-encoded file plays well in VP.
  14. The OPTIONS button is on the Home menu toolbar... or click the Menu icon (top-left), then TOOLS | OPTIONS. You have noted A/R options via a right-click on a clip in the bin. That's about it, but for preview window settings... MATCH CONTENT, MATCH MONITOR and other choices that will drop down when clicking the chevron at the right of the Aspect Ratio box... There's no frame-rate adjustment, until export.
  15. Missing audio can result from several reasons. What version of VP is being used? Install this one. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If the issue persists, please share your project. It's easy, takes little time and can be private. It's the best way for others to help you. Just follow these simple steps... 16. If you are within six-months of purchase, just click the Menu at the top-left and re-register it with your license code. If you need to revert to your earlier licensed version - or one that was released within the free upgrade period - simply reinstall it. Installers are normally saved in "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad" or a similar path without the x86. If you are happy with the VP, there's no mandate to upgrade. But new features can always be test driven by downloading an unlicensed trial version.
  17. Doesn't snap here in version 8.45, when <alt> is held after dragging and before letting up on the mouse button. In some builds it's not necessary to use <alt>. Don't attempt to move a single clip. Select them all - to the end - then drag the group to the right to increase the gap. test.mp4
  18. Answer a few questions. What version of VP is being used? What are your export settings? Install this version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If this doesn't remedy the issue, please share your project so others can see and hear it as you do. This is easy, quick and can be private. 19. Checked the clip, and it sounds fine in this version. Upgrade if possible. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  20. What is the format of the clip? Have any audio effects been applied? Upload and share the clip.
  21. Various conversion utilities are available. Try NCH PRISM, free to test. Make the initial recording in different format, if possible.
  22. Don't believe the aspect ratio options were available in that version. Upgrade if possible to the one linked above. Even if unlicensed, you should be able to test the suggested scenarios. Export at AVI usually succeeds in unlicensed releases. Retain any installer files or registration code. Best bet is to share the content privately.
  23. You haven't stated your version #. Try this one where those options are available. Or try zooming the BG image larger. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  24. Can't say why there's a discrepancy, but results may be improved through the use of Color Correction and Exposure effects.
  25. Apply the LETTERBOX effect to your background image. See if that does the deed. If using an old version try this. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
