At a cut point, the two files must be different video scenes. In this case, it appears that you have added a split where there is already a cut in the video. To dissolve between those scenes, shorten the FROM clip by a few seconds by dragging its right handle to the left. There always must be enough video on the FROM side to cover the transition length. Separate still image clips can be lengthened (or shortened) on the timeline simply by dragging their handles.

Cache clearing won't help the situation above. VP can't transition between the two scenes because they are in reality the same. Yes, there are different images, but FROM and TO come from the same place in a single video file. Use different video for each part. Good luck!

The issue is that the two clips are contiguous on the source clip. The transition is there, but won't show because the FROM clip is transitioning to exactly the same spot on the identical TO clip. Said another way: it's dissolving to itself - which won't work. Use other video or images for clip two and you will see that it works well.

What version of Videopad is being used? Doesn't do what you describe here. If it plays at x2 on the timeline then that's how it should export. Is the vanishing audio linked to the video that is being cut? That would explain it. If it's not linked, then cutting the video should have no affect on the audio. Pressing the L key to make a split also won't delete audio - it simply creates a split on all tracks.

Right-click the clip in the bin or the audio track of the clip on the timeline and Save Audio Clip As New File. It will be a WAV file, under the AUDIO tab, and also be saved to the MUSIC folder (the default) on the PC.

If the former, the timings (left window) do not change. That's where the titles will be inserted. If that latter, text clips should not spontaneously move - they never have here nor has this been reported. They're just clips, like any other. However, making changes to audio or video clips may alter their position. To avoid changes in the text overlay track, right-click at its left and LOCK TRACK. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you can restore a project to the state it was in when saved. Just double-click the VPJ file (which isn't playable). Click it to launch WP, make changes, then click the X and SAVE to exit. The changes will automatically be applied to the Videopad clip, and the edited clip will appear under the AUDIO tab. Then overlay that grab at the appropriate spot in the animation. Hardly worth the effort, but it can succeed...

Expand the timeline if necessary and click the X in the text clip. Program a Fade or Crossfade. That should do what you want.

Did you use version 6.10 throughout the edit, or did you switch to another release? Save Project Files by clicking the SAVE button on the toolbar overwrites the older VPJ file. Instead, click the chevron to the right of the button and choose Save Project File AS, giving it a unique # or name. That will not overwrite the earlier file. Do this often, so various steps in the project build can be restored if necessary. Yes, files on video tracks are being seen as AUDIO. Yet when the same file is independently added it is correct. Very strange behavior never before reported. At this juncture, it might be best to install a recent VP version and simply, if painfully, reconstruct the earlier section. If unlicensed, certain features - such as effects and some export formats - may not be available. But most are. If no export format is available come back here. But, in any case, regularly SAVE AS and do not move the source files.

Individual mp4 files load both video and audio. This hints that the VPJ control file, made when the project was saved, was not saving all tracks. Did you unintentionally hide or solo a track/s? Use 6.10 for both editing and exporting. OR a recent version. Mixing them can result in incompatibilities. Size isn't the issue. The project is corrupt because Color and Auto effects were added to Sequences 1 and 2. Add those effects only on the timeline. There also were two "title here" extraneous text files on upper Sequence 1 tracks. Corrections were made and the project burned as it should in Express Burn.

Look at the start-up screen or the left-bottom of the VP window. What version does it list? Try this one. If problems persist please share a file or two that won't display. What Videopad export format was used to output your project - mp4, AVI, MOV? We assume that you want the result to display on any DVD player. Seeing the file list isn't really useful.
