  1. Hi Aresby, You can change fade in duration of the clip on track 1 by click the button on left-top corner of the clip. Move the track 1 clip a bit to the left so that the track 0 clip is visible while track 1 clip fading in. Best Regards,
  2. Update on this issue: We've found that this is actually not a bug, but the way that how mask works - the mask is a region that later effects (in the effect chain) apply to. Therefore everything outside the mask are unchanged. In this case, the original image was outside the mask so you can see the image both before and after the position effect. We realized this is not intuitive and need more work. It will take some time so it won't be in the next release. Best Regards,
  3. Yes, this problem was very easy to reproduce. It will be fixed in the next release. We are trying to get a new release within 1-2 weeks. Thank you for your report.
  4. We've received similar crash reports and have fixed the issue. I've attached a new build on a PM. Please try it and let me know if the fix works for you. Best Regards,
  5. The screen shots show that it was an older version. Could you please try it on the latest version (4.33)? Edit: Never mind, I've reproduced the issues in v4.33. We'll get it fixed ASAP. Thanks for reporting the bug.
  6. In v4.33, you can change fade in duration by clicking the button at left-top corner of the clip in the timeline. You might need to zoom in to see the button.
  7. @dinwitty We've updated the codec but not sure if this problem get fixed since we couldn't find any sample file to test on. Have you tried the latest version? Update: I just tried a 5GB avi with OpenDML format, works fine in the latest version.
  8. Hi, GOP settings are currently automatic and hidden from users. I think it would be useful to expose the settings. For example, YouTube is suggesting GOP settings for uploading videos. I'll file your post as a suggestion to our team. It's likely caused by codec compression. Increase compression quality or bit rate form encoder settings might solve the problem. Best Regards,
  9. If you want to see how the effects work in the sequence, simply look at the Sequence Preview. The old "Background" button was just a toggle button between Clip Preview and Sequence Preview - the name was a bit misleading.
  10. Hi, New effects window is designed to solve usability issues in the old effects dialog and adding new features. Here is a quick comparison: Ability to apply effects chain to multiple selected clips. In the old dialog, you can only edit effects in one clip at a time. Many new users overlooked the "Apply" button in the old dialog. New interface apply changes immediately. Animation key frame editing was insufficient in the old dialog. New dialog improves key frame editing and added ability to use curve. Added effect chain template which allow you to save/load effect chains. Although we can do it in the old dialog but the new design is more intuitive for new users. If you have problem using the new effect interface, please tell us the problems in detail and we'll keep improve the new interface. Best Regards,
  11. Hi, You can only get the shaded area by changing the start/end point of the sequence. The start/end point can be changed in Clip Preview when you select the sequence in the media list window.
  12. VideoPad provides effect masking tool for doing something like this. You can try Effect Mask + Transparency Effect. However it would be too difficult to cut complex shapes like a human. Also, it is much easier if the object don't change it's shape. Edit: You can also try "Green Screen" effect if the object you want to cut out stand out from the background.
  13. This is a bug fix release. Fixed a bug which caused hanging.
  14. @JaniN We now know what causing the problem: The original video you used in the problem was 59.94 fps rather then 60 fps. Although only a fraction different but VP have to insert a frame at some point and that's where the 'lag' happens. Because the output has more frames then the input. To avoid the lag you have to make the export frame rate exactly same as the original video - 59.94. When you choosing file settings in the export dialog, you can click the Detect button (on the right side of the Preset drop-down list). It will show you suggested frame rate to avoid similar issues.
  15. @JaniN Thanks for sharing the files. I'm downloading them now and will start investigate when it finish. I'm not quite following this. Could you give a usage example? The new effects window is interactive with the Clip Preview window. The old effects dialog just move the Clip Preview in to the dialog. Otherwise they works the same. Update: Yes, I've tried your files the problem still there. It turned out that the file I've used for testing was not obvious enough. We are working on it (again) now.
  16. Yes, that's the problem. VGA cards have no 3D acceleration support. If you have DirectX installed, you can find out if hardware acceleration is available by running "dxdiag": Windows Start Menu->Run->dxdiag->Display 1->DirectX features. What we need is Direct3D acceleration.
  17. We've just reverted the download link to the previous version to fix a bug that causing hanging. The bug is fixed now and we'll re-release it soon.
  18. Hi JerryP, I just confirmed with the other developers. The only reason Zoom effect etc. will be disabled is that VP couldn't found any display hardware acceleration. In order to have hardware acceleration, your PC need to support at lease DirectX 9.0c which came with Windows XP Sp1. If you are getting a new PC, it would be almost impossible to find one not supporting that. Best Regards,
  19. Hi Yonargi1, We don't keep old versions especially the ones that over a year old. If you don't like the new interface could you please help us improve it? Suggestions are welcome and you'll get free upgrade to new releases when the suggestions are implemented. Thank you!
  20. Zoom is available to all versions. The difference between demo and licensed version is that demo version has limited times of exporting.
  21. Hi JaniN, I've double checked just before reply to you. The problem did get fixed. I exported 3 minutes of smooth scrolling text clip. Add it back to a new project and export to another 60fps clip (1080p). I couldn't see any lag. If you confirmed that still happen, please try share the project and the media files (on DropBox, Google Drive etc.) to us so we can investigate. Edit: It might because of the player. I've tested on one machine, playback in WMP was laggy but fine in VLC. On another machine both players are OK.
  22. Yes, I can reproduce it here. The extra frame problem we've fixed was appear at every clip in a track. Now this one only appear at the last clip in the track. Thanks for the information.
  23. Hi Ivan, We did fix an issue that causing and extra frame on export. The one you still have might cause by a different problem. Could you please start a new thread and post how to reproduce it so I can investigate? Thanks,
  24. New: Revised effect dialog UI. Now it's a floating tool window and interact with Clip Preview window. Ability to use curves (not only straight lines) to animate effects. Ability to save effect chains as templates. Saved templates can be found in the Add Effect list. Ability to apply effect chain to multiple selected clips. Fixed: Exported video freeze if compute go to sleep while exporting. Unexpected back space at the end of speed changed clips. Videos are not smooth while exported to 60fps. Missing "Keep borders" option for Shake effect.
  25. It's still being worked on. Unfortunately there were other things taken the priority. I've given it a higher priority since your request. Best Regards,
