  1. And of course. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then clicking the VPJ will restore a project to the state it was in when saved.😄.

    Re-caching

There's no one answer, but as video editing is resource intensive a game-class PC is often recommended. Check this out and search the WEB for similar articles. Consider a custom build, by a qualified high-end shop. You may see a speed improvement immediately. And when Videopad 64-bit arrives (no target date), handling of complex projects, huge files and ultra-high resolutions will be enhanced, to take even better advantage of your new hardware.
  3. Some insights... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10231.html https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/24123-feature-request-anamorphic-mpeg-720x576-widescreen-export/ You can test drive VP on a trial basis. https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/vpsetup.exe
  4. Your issue is fully understood. Requesting your files to see if stabilization fails here is an effort to sleuth the cause. Please understand that folks in this forum, with rare exception, do not work or speak for NCH. To request a debug version the official support channel may be your best bet... https://tinyurl.com/r89tpcw If you received a debug version in the past, contact the party who supplied it.
  5. It's not so much quality control as it may be 32-bit app limitation. A 64-bit version (no timeline) will considerably improve large file/resolution handling. Most woes you have had seem related to unfamiliarity with VP. Missing effects/clips hint at a memory issue, though that's rare for a 26:40 minute, 1080 project. Folks here will check it if you take the time to upload and share per the above four-step process. As suggested earlier, in lieu of H265, stick with H264 all the way, or try the MPEG4 compressor - perhaps under the AVI format. Breaking a project into several parts, exporting each, then merging those composited clips for final export is an approach worthy of consideration.
  6. Proxy editing, using low-res files in place of the originals, will make caching and rendering go much more smoothly than with the large original files. However, there could be program memory issues upon export. Someone here will suggest the best way to proceed if you take the time to upload and share the project, as outlined above. Breaking the project into shorter segments, exporting each and later merging those for final export is worth a try. In the end it may turn out that your experiment with reducing video file size by lower level conversion, keeping 1080p at 30 fps but at much lower bitrate before loading into VideoPad is the most practical approach - at the expense of some quality. In the future (no timeline) a 64-bit version of VP should considerably improve working with very large files/resolutions.
  7. No such. Make a suggestion by clicking the chevron at the top-right of the Videopad window.
  8. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you can restore a project to the state it was in when saved. Just double-click the VPJ file (which isn't playable). You say you "launched it." Do you mean that it took a long time to export? Or did it take a long time for a saved project to be reloaded into VP? What is the length of the project and what is the resolution of the majority of the source files?
  9. Try an H264 AVI export. Try a MPEG4 AVI export. Upload and share the project. What is the resolution of the bulk of the source files?
  10. Try this... Select the clips, right-click on one and GROUP SELECTED CLIPS.
  11. The only way to track down a true issue is to see the project, as instructed in the reply to your "Picture Missing After Export" thread. If it turns out to be a bug, it will be quickly addressed.
  12. How long is the project? What is the resolution of the bulk of the source files? Have you tried an AVI export, using the MPEG4 compressor? This needs to be seen by folks here. Please upload the project, or a portion that contains the zoom. Of course. Save Project File AS before doing any excising, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you can restore a project to the state it was in when saved. Just double-click the VPJ file (which isn't playable). 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. Locate the saved, numbered folder and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* (Don't upload the export file or only the VPJ.) 3. Get a shared, public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Click the blue "Change to anyone with the link..." Then click COPY LINK | DONE. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  13. Upload your pre-stabilized files for testing and someone will try to replicate the issue. Mention your stabilization settings.
  14. No one has ever reported not being able to select a clip on the timeline. Below, each clip is first single-clicked in turn. Preview does not respond, and is perhaps why you believe that the clip can't be selected. Then, each clip is double-clicked, and preview displays each accordingly. When focus has been shifted away from the timeline, single-clicking will only select a clip; it won't preview until it's double-clicked. Be aware too that when a video clip is selected, the audio track will not change to to grey if audio and video are not linked, as with clip 3 in the video below. This is normal behavior. When posting, please profile a brief, descriptive subject. Record_2020_09_29_13_37_47_724.mp4
  15. Clips are licensed to all locations. File a report with Google/YouTube. Mention that a USA user has no issue with these clips. http://SUPPORT.GOOGLE.COM/youtube/answer/2797454?hl=en
  16. Using the latest VP version, doesn't do that here. When the name is changed from "MyAudio" to something else the counter begins at .0001 with the next narration.
  17. Using v8.84 here, adding an exposure effect to various clips does not alter their position in the timeline, so your finding could not be replicated. Your video doesn't show the clip being shifted into the future, but only that a .25 exposure effect has been applied to clip 2 after you initially applied a -0.15 exposure to clip 1. To add an effect to multiple clips, select the clips then click any one of their FX icons. Configure the effect, then click the "replace effect chain" button. on the effect window toolbar.
  18. You have posted to an old Videopad thread. Is this a MixPad issue? Post to that forum, with specifics... https://nch.invisionzone.com/forum/69-mixpad/
  19. New hardware notwithstanding, are video drivers and Direct-X up to date? https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html
  20. As export fail can result from a number of things, your freeze may not be the same as that experienced by others. To track it down, please answer a few questions... What version of VP is being used? Try the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. What is the resolution of the bulk of the source files - HD, 2K, 4K? Is this a one-hour project? What are your PC's specs: GPU, CPU, free space on the C:\ drive and type of drive? What are your export settings? If you take a few minutes to upload and share your work, folks here will help solve the issue. The process is easy, quick and can be private. Just follow these steps...
  21. Direct VP uploads to YT can occasioinally fail, though not the fault of Videopad. Uploads in the middle of the night may do better. Take the alternate approach when this occurs... Export your project in a YT-acceptable format (mp4 is fine) and use their uploader. If that fails, then it's definitely a YT issue. Check this out.
  22. Without seeing the project it's tough to say what settings need to be changed. Servers like MS OneDrive and Google Drive are free. If you already have an account from either one of those providers, just sign in with your existing ID and PW and follow the steps above. http://onedrive.com https://www.google.com/intl/en_in/drive/ Someone will be glad to take a look. What version of VP is being used?

    Re-caching

If the cache hasn't been cleared, the previous project should load very quickly, as confirmed by a test with a 20-minute video here. Initial load took a few minutes. After VP was closed and the project reopened, the cache was full instantly. What version of VP is being used?
  24. Did several successful tests and it seemed to do the job Nat. One crash though.
  25. Review the earlier posts for yet another method.
