  1. The link above leads to the 64-bit version. Click the MENU at the upper-left of the VP window, click HELP | ABOUT...
  2. Some VOB files, loaded into 10.16, have no audio. Confirmed and reported.
  3. It is available on the download page - at times - as it's being phased in. https://www.nchsoftware.com/download/videopadsetup64.exe
  4. Version 7.11 is dated. Suggest you update to the current release which you should be able to use unlicensed, with some limitations. If mp4 export doesn't succeed, use AVI. You might also test this version, which was released within the six-month free upgrade grace period and should accept your registration info. Normally, exporting with the same version or one close in time to the one that created the video is the best policy. If no success, take a minute to share the project and someone here will come up with the fix. It's easy, quick, and can be private. Follow these steps closely... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  5. Very good. Considering the archival VHS quality, a Debut capture might be the quickest route.
  6. Ran tests on two PCs, two VP releases, and at slightly different resolutions. Other than typical VHS distortion, the exports were clean. Be sure that your video driver is up to date... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html Try an export on another machine. Thanks for sharing. After those experiments you might enjoy this.
  7. If select files are being handled incorrectly, reimporting isn't going to change things. Make timeline adjustments.
  8. This problem appears to originate with the file import (to the top-left BIN). A gap shouldn't throw off sync if A/V are linked. Editing mistakes can adversely affect an otherwise good clip, but raw clip and timeline sync are normally identical.
  9. Which track, video or audio, that needs adjustment depends upon the clip. Recall that on some, video required a small snip at the head, then the gap was closed. Beware of this unintentionally affecting other clips. Takes some experimentation. Expand the timeline with the slider at the left-bottom to enable more precision. If you make a mistake, immediately press <ctrl-Z> to backtrack, step-by-step. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite.
  10. Don't recall which clips were out in 10.16 - very few besides the ZOOM session. In 10.12 there were many more. As mentioned, the issue has been confirmed and is being addressed.
  11. Doubtful that sync will be in at export if it was out on the timeline. But give it a go. Just a few clips were out when your original was loaded into 10.16; they were manually adjusted. The seamless result is what you saw in the linked 856x480 export.
  12. The exported file won't be of much help - the fault is apparent. A source file or two should prove useful, to see if the issue can be replicated on a PC or Mac.
  13. Let's take a look at one or two of the files - so we can try to replicate what you see.. Please upload them to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. Using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view." The latest Mac release is 10.12.
  14. You didn't state the version used on that project. What was the format of the source files? The distortion has been seen, rarely, in older VP versions. It may be related to source file format. For Lossless export settings, choosing RE-ENCODE instead of AUTO DETECT is worth a try. Upgrade to the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. In lieu of missing source files - a project we can check out per the above instructions - use a DVD ripper to make an mp4. A screen recorder should also work. Check out these possibly related threads... https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/32559-video-artifactingblurring-on-import-of-file-and-remains-post-export/?tab=comments#comment-87578 https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/35715-blurry-distored-and-pixelated-outputs/?tab=comments#comment-95323
  15. The project had no sync issues in version 10.16 after a few MOV files that were affected had been adjusted. A sync discrepancy with some MOVs has been confirmed and will be fixed. Ran your revised VPJ in 10.16. Ariel, Nick and others were in sync. The ending ZOOM clip was out. There was a glitch or freeze at some dissolves and it's tough to pin down the cause at this juncture. Fixes include removing or shortening the transition, or perhaps using TRANSPARENCY effects instead on the adjacent clips. Good work!
  16. Did some tweaking for you, normalizing audio levels and removing a half-dozen or so gaps, which can cause transition freezes and other misbehavior. To see gaps on video track 1, switch to Storyboard mode. Download and install this beta version, which has some enhancements over 10.12... https://www.nchsoftware.com/beta/vpsetup.exe When editing it's wise to play the timeline after every few edits. If things look smooth, save project file AS. Do this routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. To access this choice, click the chevron to the right of the SAVE PROJECT button on the toolbar, or click MENU (top-left), then FILE | SAVE PROJECT FILE AS. Then you're protected if things go wrong. Click the VPJ file of choice and, as long as source content hasn't been deleted or moved, the project will load. When exporting, suggest you change the "auto match" field to 854x480, to minimize export time - or 1024x576 at most. Higher resolution likely isn't necessary and will slow things down considerably.
  17. What VP version produced these video files? What export resolution was used? To share a screen shot, upload the image to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. It will appear as a clickable link. If using Google Drive, verify that "anyone with link can view" - not "restricted." A sample PROJECT would be most helpful. Share it and someone will take a look. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps...
  18. The batch extractor method mentioned above takes but a few minutes - faster than converting. The result will look like this, with the original audio track muted.
  19. Upload the project, as instructed above. Then someone here can work with it just as you do. This should have nothing to do with RAM or frame rate, as that can be adjusted only for export. What's the VP version #, shown at the bottom-left of the screen? What is the format of the clips - mp4, AVI, MOV, MKV?
  20. Type the number into the Cursor: box, below the preview window, inserting periods where appropriate. Ignore leading zeros. For example, my Scene 3... Then click on the timeline to go to that address. In your example my guess is that would be 10.93.074. To file a suggestion, click the chevron at the top-right of the Videopad window.
  21. Save the project. Open the VPJ file with Notepad. Press <ctrl-F> to bring up a FIND box. Search (down) for "bookmarks." There you will see the name and the position, though they won't necessarily be in order. Copy/Paste the bookmark text into an email message.
  22. It your intent is correctly understood, one way to do this is to use a video capture utility as you mouse over the bookmarks. This will reveal their title and location. The editor can then review the file to see where you placed each bookmark. Record_2021_02_21_19_14_23_643.mp4
  23. The timeline is where you edit. It can be displayed in the normal Timeline mode or in Storyboard mode, where each clip on track one is listed separately. The horizontal slider at the bottom-right of the window expands the timeline. There's also a horizontal scrollbar. Check out the many tutorials, linked near the top of this forum.
  24. You have stumbled upon an obscure bug, apparently due to the encoding of the MKV files. It's been reported. Consider recording future projects using a different format or codec. Or convert them... https://www.nchsoftware.com/prism/index.html Another route to fixing files like these MKVs is to use an extractor. Add the audio file that results to another VP track, in sync, and mute the original.
  25. Let the green line above the video thumbnails and, often, the grey line under the preview window, to complete. Then the project is fully cached. Update to the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If yours is a complex project with many tracks or very high definition files, try out the 64-bit release. Still problems? Share your project. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps...
