  1. Did some tweaking for you, normalizing audio levels and removing a half-dozen or so gaps, which can cause transition freezes and other misbehavior. To see gaps on video track 1, switch to Storyboard mode. Download and install this beta version, which has some enhancements over 10.12... https://www.nchsoftware.com/beta/vpsetup.exe When editing it's wise to play the timeline after every few edits. If things look smooth, save project file AS. Do this routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. To access this choice, click the chevron to the right of the SAVE PROJECT button on the toolbar, or click MENU (top-left), then FILE | SAVE PROJECT FILE AS. Then you're protected if things go wrong. Click the VPJ file of choice and, as long as source content hasn't been deleted or moved, the project will load. When exporting, suggest you change the "auto match" field to 854x480, to minimize export time - or 1024x576 at most. Higher resolution likely isn't necessary and will slow things down considerably.
  2. What VP version produced these video files? What export resolution was used? To share a screen shot, upload the image to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. It will appear as a clickable link. If using Google Drive, verify that "anyone with link can view" - not "restricted." A sample PROJECT would be most helpful. Share it and someone will take a look. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  3. The batch extractor method mentioned above takes but a few minutes - faster than converting. The result will look like this, with the original audio track muted.
  4. Upload the project, as instructed above. Then someone here can work with it just as you do. This should have nothing to do with RAM or frame rate, as that can be adjusted only for export. What's the VP version #, shown at the bottom-left of the screen? What is the format of the clips - mp4, AVI, MOV, MKV?
  5. Type the number into the Cursor: box, below the preview window, inserting periods where appropriate. Ignore leading zeros. For example, my Scene 3... Then click on the timeline to go to that address. In your example my guess is that would be 10.93.074. To file a suggestion, click the chevron at the top-right of the Videopad window.
  6. Save the project. Open the VPJ file with Notepad. Press <ctrl-F> to bring up a FIND box. Search (down) for "bookmarks." There you will see the name and the position, though they won't necessarily be in order. Copy/Paste the bookmark text into an email message.
  7. It your intent is correctly understood, one way to do this is to use a video capture utility as you mouse over the bookmarks. This will reveal their title and location. The editor can then review the file to see where you placed each bookmark. Record_2021_02_21_19_14_23_643.mp4
  8. The timeline is where you edit. It can be displayed in the normal Timeline mode or in Storyboard mode, where each clip on track one is listed separately. The horizontal slider at the bottom-right of the window expands the timeline. There's also a horizontal scrollbar. Check out the many tutorials, linked near the top of this forum.
  9. You have stumbled upon an obscure bug, apparently due to the encoding of the MKV files. It's been reported. Consider recording future projects using a different format or codec. Or convert them... https://www.nchsoftware.com/prism/index.html Another route to fixing files like these MKVs is to use an extractor. Add the audio file that results to another VP track, in sync, and mute the original.
  10. Let the green line above the video thumbnails and, often, the grey line under the preview window, to complete. Then the project is fully cached. Update to the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If yours is a complex project with many tracks or very high definition files, try out the 64-bit release. Still problems? Share your project. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  11. Just examine the timeline and you will see how it was done. Track one is displayed except when overlaid by track 2. Add in a few fades ... and you're done. You did the tough part when the audio was synchronized. To make the project even cleaner, audio track 2 can be deleted, as it now has no clips. You can also right-click the audio track split point at about 1:54 and UNsplit. Nice tune!
  12. What's the version #? Look at the start-up screen or the left-bottom corner of the Videopad window. Here's the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. No other reports of this have been posted. Share your project. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. 13. Project file delivered. Examine it for help in putting together your next performance.😄
  14. Using 10.12, various rotations of the imported file in the bin (top-left) were tested. (Right-click | ROTATE) It exported without a hitch. Be sure to place the file on the timeline, or it won't export.
  15. Basic (NO list) creates a Play button that always starts from the beginning. On the Samsung standalone player, as noted above, Basic (list) gives a Play button, then a list of chapters that can be chosen independently. That hints that your player doesn't support the layout that VP provides? Suggest updating to the latest VP release, but be aware that for licensed users upgrades are free for only six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If you reinstall Express Burn, it's possible that it will function again for a trial period. Worth a try.
  16. That link points to the VPJ control file for your project and not the mp4 in question. The VPJ is of no use by itself. Try again. If you do have a completed project on the timeline (but simply cannot rotate the mp4 file), upload the project. We'll take a look. Follow these simple steps carefully... 17. Odd. It won't hurt to split all the tracks. Share your project and someone will check it out. The process is quick and easy and can be private. Just follow these four steps closely... 18. Right-click in the area to the left of the track to be deleted and DELETE TRACK. If there are clips on the track, VP will warn.
  19. Use the chevron to the right of the SPLIT button to split tracks independently Remember, higher tracks override lower. So place the solo segment on the uppermost track. Split out and delete any portions that you don't want seen. The lower track will play until play reaches the solo clip, and again after that clip ends. In this demo, the girl represents your solo track. Overlay.mp4
  20. A DVD-RW is rewritable after finalizing. Right-Click and erase it. If another recording is attempted it will prompt for that. Chances are that the Sylvania player has a means to display the chapters or menus. Check the documentation, if available... http://tv.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/osram_sylvania/osram_sylvania_dvd_player_product_list.html Individual exports can be made in a number of ways, but essentially one at a time. Chaptering is the way to go. For more extensive authoring check out Express Burn... To play on a DVD or Blu-ray player Includes menu and button templates for DVD authoring Video files are re-encoded for standard movie discs DVD burner supports avi, mpg, vob, wmv, mp4, ogm and all video formats with a DirectShow based codec Create and manage chapters on DVD and Blu-ray discs Widescreen or standard formats for video burning Record video files to PAL or NTSC

    Cropping Files

Under the OPTIONS menu | EDITING tab, for Video Clip Transitioning choose ASK ME. Then, when there is no excess video at the head or end of a clip, you should get a prompt. Tell it to Freeze. Share a few clips where you want a transition, and how long they are to be, and someone will check them out... Just upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. Using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  22. Keep in mind that video on higher tracks overrides lower tracks. You have the main video and audio already in sync. At their left, right-click and LOCK TRACK. Add the second video above the first. To sync them, the audio waveforms can be helpful. Drag track 2 on the timeline 'til it matches up. You should be hearing them both. One they're in sync, right-click the 2nd video track and UNlink From Audio. Then, right-click in the area to the left of the track to mute or delete it. Video from the second track will be seen, except where you have split-out and deleted parts of it to allow the first track to display. Similarly, the solo can be added on a third track. Its video will override the other tracks. Drop by again if you need more help.
  23. What version is being used (look at the left-bottom corner of the Window)? There are no known export issues being reported, so let's take a look... Please upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. Using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  24. With MPC-BE on this PC, the bookmarks are listed chapters, as shown above, under the NAVIGATION | TITLE and ROOT MENUS, or via the JUMP TO choice. The MAIN title may have to be clicked first, before each chapter is listed individually. When a DVD made with VP bookmarks is loaded into my Samsung BluRay/DVD player there's a Chapter List under the TOOLS menu. Each chapter can be clicked and played individually, which seems to be what you're after. Works fine. As noted earlier, behavior and options can vary with the viewer/player being used.
  25. You have tacked on to a four-year old thread. Please start a new one with a descriptive title and problem details in the body. Mention the version being used.
