  1. What version of Videopad is being used? Look at the start-up screen or at the bottom-left of the VP window. Did you purchase from the Microsoft store? If so, a bug has been unearthed and a new build should be available for download there within a day or so. In the interim, try this release. Or this one. They may be 'unlicensed' but should serve until the new release is up at Microsoft. And routinely Save Project File AS, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you are protected. Click the chevron at the right of the SAVE PROJECT button to see that choice. Or access it via MENU (top-left) | FILE menu.
  2. There is a 30-day money back guarantee. https://www.nch.com.au/general/refund.html What model # video card is in use? But before you go that route, test this release. If issues persist, someone here will be glad to help solve them if you take a few minutes to share your project. It can be private. Just follow these easy steps closely... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  3. If you are referring to the bar with the scissors, that can change colors and position with each VP install. It's random. The Bandicut mp4 video issue is confirmed and will be reported. The video displays well here in this version, which is current. But, it seems that earlier you loaded that release and it did not succeed, so that's a mystery. Try it again. If it fails, here's another version that utilized somewhat different architecture than the latest, which is still being refined. Thanks for sharing your file. What is the model of your video card - GTX.xxx?
  4. Interesting. Please take a minute to share a file or two that had the issue, so they can be analysed and help others. The process it easy and quick. Just follow these steps... Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. Using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  5. Good to know. Do you have an AMD card? The version that you are using is beta, so there may be undiscovered quirks. Release updates will soon be available, and be well within the six-month grace period.
  6. Not to panic. What video card is on the PC? There have been some issues with AMD adapters that may now be fixed. Try this version and report back.
  7. What version won't load those clips? Look at the start-up screen or the bottom-left of the VP window. Upgrade to this version and see if that has an effect. If not, come back here. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.

  9. What format are the out-of-sync files? Does this occur on the timeline, as you are editing, or just upon export? What version of Videopad is being used? Install the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  10. You tested the version listed just above?
  11. A bug has been discovered in the Store version. It will be updated. In the interim, unregistered versions should suffice. After re-downloading, in a day or so, please report whether this solved the problem.
  12. Can't replicate this in 10.17, when stacking two identical PNGs and applying the same positional effects to both. Whether show/hide is enabled makes no difference. Please upload both images and specify the effects settings. Or upload the project. Use a free server, get a shareable link, copy the link and post it here or in a private message.
  13. Click the chevron to the right of the Templates button... In the current version it should be working as always. Once saved, the Template will be added. Click the Templates button to see them all - scroll down.
  14. What version of VP is being used? Look at the start-up screen or the left-bottom of the VP window. What are the PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM? Try an install of this version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Report back.
  15. For the developers, would appreciate it if either of you folks - Iratorum and team2win - would share a project with us, per the easy steps below. It can be private. Also, please mention the vendor and model of the GPU on your PC, and the Videopad version used when H264 fails.
  16. Please list the full specs of the PC: NVidia card model, CPU, RAM, free space on C. You tried this version? Repeated tests here with that effect do not crash, so this may be related to your PC. Can you test it on another machine?
  17. If you want the Template button, reinstall Videopad. No need to re-download. This may take repeated tries, but it will eventually appear in place of Videomaker.
  18. Go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components" (or similar path, with out the x86) and delete all the files in that folder. Go to "C:\Users\<PC name>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components" and do the same. Reboot. Install this version. It won't hurt to check that your video driver and Direct-X are up to date .. https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html There's no mandate to update if the release that you are using is doing the job. Newer versions can always be tested, even unlicensed, to see if they offer advantages.
  19. Free upgrades for six-months from purchase date, as noted. You can always revert, and re-register if necessary. Unlicensed versions are feature-limited.
  20. Loaded up just fine in both the 32- and 64-bit 10.17 versions. Under OPTIONS | DISK tab, Clear Unused Cache Files - though that's likely not the issue. The next suggestion would be to reinstall the program, but you have already done that. Reboot your PC. When you ADD FILES, and choose one of your mp4s, what happens - precisely? Any error messages? Try this version.
  21. Microsoft purchase is another bag. Apps purchased from the Microsoft Store (and stores in general) don't use registration codes. You purchase the app and install it via the Microsoft Store app. If you're in the Microsoft Store and go to My Library (click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner), you should see a list of apps purchased. When you say 'uploads' do you mean ADD FILES won't add mp4s? If that's the case, share a few here as instructed above and we'll check them out.
  22. No version of VP stops working. The trial or free releases have limitations but they, too, don't expire and can be 'test driven' at anytime, to see what's new. You can always reinstall your old registered version. If you have lost the installer, go here. If you have lost your registration, go here. Only one version can be installed at a time, so when you install a different release the old one gets kicked out. Don't know why you cannot 'upload' your files. Do you mean that you cannot add them to the bin/timeline, or that you cannot export your project? If the former, please take a minute to share a file or two that does this and someone here will check it out. Just upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. Using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  23. You open Videopad, then attempt to ADD FILES or OPEN PROJECT and receive "Error Loading Clip Files?" And the files have not been moved or deleted? What version of Videopad is being used. Try an install of the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  24. Minor updates are made frequently. Recent major improvements have included a 64-bit version and more efficient usage of the GPU. Give the latest a test drive. Retain your licensing info.
  25. It's generally best to edit and export with the same (or close to same release date) version of Videopad. Backward compatibility can't be guaranteed; many changes have been made over the years. Update to the latest and report back if preview is still problematic.
