  1. Really can't say. But directing cache to a drive with more free space, or freeing up space on C:\ won't hurt. As with your earlier 'brand new project', load VP with no clips. Under OPTIONS | DISK tab, Clear Unused Cache Files. Now load a a single clip and apply Color Curves. If VP crashes, then storage isn't likely the cause. Yet it may be system-specific, as no other reports of this have been seen. Go to the OPTIONS | EDITING tab and toggle off "use hardware acceleration." The crash hints at video issues. Your PC's specs should be sufficient.
  2. The same red tint in 8.63 and the current version displayed no difference to my eye. Shake has changed. Whether it's for the better is subjective. Send feedback... https://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html?software=VideoPad&version=10.21
  3. Both effects perform well in the latest version. Shake has many adjustment options. Color curves has never crashed in tests here. One item noted in your PC specs: 11GB of storage may not be sufficient for some projects. Cache can be directed to a drive that has more free space. OPTIONS | DISK tab. Here's the latest 64-bit version.
  4. Both the free and the trial versions have limitations, and they may prompt to license. Here's the latest 64-bit free release. It doesn't expire, but some features won't be available.
  5. On further reflection, this process seems to be working as intended. Though it takes a few steps, it's easy. Here's a two-channel MKV example... 1. Import the file to the bin but don't place it on the timeline 2. Right-click on it and COPY 3. Right-click an open area in the bin and PASTE (Clip) 4. Right-click the original file and SELECT AUDIO STREAM 1 5. Right-click the copied file and SELECT AUDIO STREAM 2 6. Place the original on the timeline 7. Overlay the copy on the timeline, just below the original 8. Either Hide the extra video track or right-click on the track, UNlink from audio and then delete the video.
  6. And that Pascale project you provided earlier - what there was of it without the 19 missing files - also loaded correctly. No problem with audio. What are your PC's specs: CPU/GPU adapter/free space on the C:\ drive? Video editing is resource intensive.
  7. There is something odd about several of your MPG files. Media Info reports that the one linked above is 26:46. However, when the source file is moused-over in Windows it's shown to be 12 hours and 44 minutes long. That may be an irrelevant reporting error?? Nonetheless, it loads in VP and immediately plays audio in the normal manner. Why that's not the case for you is a mystery. Then there was the earlier SkyDiving video that is corrupt. Hopefully, you downloaded the repaired file linked earlier. On the off-chance that there has been VP file corruption, please try this... Close Videopad. Using Windows Explorer (the file manager) delete all files in these folders. Then, reinstall Videopad. "C:\Users\<PC name>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components" "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components" (or similar path without the X86) The files that you deleted will be reinstalled automatically. Asking any editor to load 35GB of content is not practical, IMO. One thought on how this might be handled is to load only a few files at a time, complete editing and then export. They become a composited clip - no individual edits. Later, when this has been done for all clips, bring them into VP and merge them together for the final export
  8. Subs relate to the timeline, not to the clips. Best thing is to add them as a last step. Or use text overlays instead. The stay put, and can be dragged.
  9. An excellent method. And if you want a gentle slope in amplification, graph it something like this...
  10. Removing the denoise effect should allow for smooth preview, and perhaps a quicker back up and upload so we can analyse the project. Just specify here where you intended the denoise effect to be applied.
  11. Split at the IN point, where amplification is to begin (20:25) Split at the OUT point where it's to end (24:48) Click the FX button on the audio clip within the newly split-out clip Choose AMPLIFY Make your settings amplify.mp4
  12. Text can be added on a higher (overlay) track, and positioned to the sides by simply dragging it in the preview window, while the text compose window is open. Portrait and landscape aspect ratios can be mixed and one should not affect the other. Share a portion (or the entire) project that does this and someone here will come up with the answer. Be sure to Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. Sharing isn't difficult and can be private. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  13. Do you mean that denoise was first applied to a clip, and later applied to the entire project? Either way, that effect is going to be very slow to cache. We can pin down the issue if you share the project, as above. Don't apply the denoise effect to anything - just mention here where you want to use it.
  14. Saving a project is not the same as exporting. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. That protects what you have already edited. Double clicking on a VPJ file loads the project just as it was when the Save AS was done. Exporting is the final step, when editing is complete. This can take some time for lengthy projects, but what you describe hints at a problem. Skipping the denoising when constructing the project will likely solve the issue. Tell us if that effect was applied to just a clip or two - or to the entire project. Sharing the back-up folder of the project takes only minutes. It's not the same as saving or exporting. This will allow others to run the project just as you do, and test an export. To upload, place the fully edited project on the timeline, WITHOUT the denoise effect being applied to any clip. Click the MENU at the top-left of the Window, click FILE, and then Back up Project Files to a folder. Upload that folder, per the instructions above, to the free server of your choice. If you already have a Google or MS account, just log in to Google Drive or One Drive. The former has a 15GB limit for all Google files (including your gMail), while OneDrive has a 5GB limit. After you have created the back-up folder, right-click on it and click on PROPERTIES. Look at the size to see that it's not too large for your free server allocation. An example: If all is well, follow the steps above to complete the upload, share and paste process.
  15. It's likely that you will get the same result, as some source files may be bad. Don't know how long your project is, but 22GB is way above the usual. Unless you have paid for extra Google storage space the upload will not succeed. Free space is 15GB.
  16. We'll get to the bottom of the issue. No, the green mark denotes that a clip is being used in the project - nothing to do with stabilizing. DO upload the files as suggested or, better still, the entire project as fully displayed on the timeline. It's about the only way to sleuth this out and learn which clip/clips may be causing the problem. If the upload is truly 22.9GB, that hints that a file in the project is exceptionally large - and likely faulty.
  17. Use the 64-bit version. Processing should take no longer than a few minutes. If it does, then something is definitely amiss. There are 19 files missing. Back up only after all project clips are on the timeline. Or, as an alternative, upload the 19 missing files. Click on the link that you most recently provided, then attempt to load the project and you will see a list of those missing files. You can upload the files individually or zip them and upload the resulting folder. Upload the file/s to the server, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here.
  18. It's unclear just what is going on with that snippet, which loaded only three of many missing files. One was 'Skydiving' but it wasn't used in the project. That WMV is corrupt and lists a zero duration.
  19. If Sequences tab isn't shown, create a new sequence on the timeline by clicking the + sign to the right of Sequence One. Upload the project, per the instructions above, and someone will check it out.
  20. That's a stretch. If a segment of the project has the same issue, you might upload that instead. Be sure the server has enough free space to accommodate. Are any of those files stabilized? And don't forget to Save Project As, to protect against loss.
  21. If there's no "64" designation, then you have the 32-bit release. Here's the 64. Are any clips stabilized? Please post the link to the saved project folder. We will check it out.
  22. Is yours the 32- or 64-bit release? Click the MENU item (top-left), then HELP | ABOUT to see. What is the format of the source files: mp4, mov, mkv, etc.? Take a few minutes to share the project and someone will come up with a solution. It's easy and can be private. Just follow these four simple steps closely... 23. VP certainly does support average systems. What version is being used? Try the latest 64-bit release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. In the text compose window, select (highlight) the text. Then you should be able to change font, size, color, etc. To be clear, you applied the VIDEO noise reduction? As a pop up will warn, noise reduction takes a very long time (and should be used sparingly). Allow the green cache line above the thumbnails to fully complete. Then preview should be smooth. Take Uberprutser's advice - grab a cup of coffee. One approach you might test, if you must use noise reduction for the entire project, is to edit without it - then Save AS. Then apply NR to the sequence by clicking the Sequences tab above the bin (top-left). Right-click to see the effects choice. Apply the reduction. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.
  24. Perhaps what you're seeing is triggered by this... , under OPTIONS | DISK tab??
  25. There's no auto 'clean on close' option in recent VP releases. To verify what version is running click the MENU (top-left), then HELP | ABOUT.
