Did you mean it failed when exported to 4k resolution (4096 × 2160) and 1k is 1920×1080?

If some rare cases the preview might not be very accurate due to the optimization. Have you compared the source with the actual export result?

Hi Nat, Thanks for the confirmation. It could be just because you chosen the right percentage so the edge is not blurred by the anti-alias. For the hue difference, VP can adjust it (apply to the upper clip) if it's inherent in the copying device.

Update: The reason why a seam is there was because the seam is in between tow pixels and anti-aliasing was at work. It will look much better on higher export resolution. The picture shown here was just a screen shot of a low res preview. We do need anti-alias otherwise the position effect will look horrible when it's animated. So to solve this problem, we will: Add a new effect which applies offset and automatically wrapping the video around the frame. Add an option to disable anti-alias for position effect for stitching multiple layer precisely.

I've try the image here myself. But I've got a visible seam which does not appear in the original photo. I'm still investigating this issue. Before this problem is solved, I think Borate's suggestion is the way to go - just crop film and scale it back to the right size. (EDIT: Actually you can use the Zoom effect).

It can be done in VideoPad: 1. Add the clip to the timeline. 2. Add the clip to the timeline again and overlaying (has the same timeline position but on tack 2) the 1st clip. To do so, you can place the timeline cursor at the beginning of the 1st clip, and select "Overlay on sequence at cursor". 3. Apply Position effect to the 1st clip and offset the clip down to where appropriate, say 6.00 (percent). Now the bottom is fixed but you can see equal amount of checker board appear at the top. 4. Apply Position effect to the 2nd clip and offset the clip up to move the extra bottom bit to the top. Say if the 1 clip moved down by 6%, the 2nd clip will need to move up by 94% (negative).

Changing the volume slider in VP will effect the export result. What you need is a playback only volume slider. I've filed it as a suggestion. Thanks,

Adding a new track will increase memory usage. Clips should on the same track if they are not overlapped.

Thumbnails are generated from the cache (if available) so it can be very fast. Storyboard mode is designed for simple editing. You can not edit overlaying tracks in Storyboard mode.

To make it work like v4.21, you can select View > Show Dual Previews from the main menu.

Hi Nat, This is a known issue. Not a bug but more of a limitation. It was intended this way to avoid sequence sound track being edited.

Lets try make it same high with the mouse pointer. At least you can control where it appears. We'll also add an option to disable it.

Got it! Thanks Borate for the sample project. It seems to caused by splitting a clip with fade in/out already set. Thanks guys for all the information.

Have you tried the height of the main window?

I see. There was a recent change has been made to hide the sequence tab when the window's height is not sufficient. The change was made after the floating button.

Hi Nat, We often receive complains from first time users don't know how to cutting a clip. We think that an in-place toolbar might help. In fact the toolbar can has more then one button. For example if you drag the cursor line and highlight a section, a "delete" button will also appear. The toolbar was actually designed with more future use in mind.
