  1. Yes, this issue happen to me when I try to export to a frame rate different from the preview frame rate. I don't think that's a bug since converting between different frame is unavoidable to duplicate or drop frames at some point. Try change your preview frame rate to what you want to export.
  2. Hi Serafin, I've just had a chat with the audio team devs. They were very busy but promised to have a look at this issue in a few days. Thanks for you patience.
  3. It seems the only way to get this problem solved is to take a trail and error approach. You can try 720 x 405 (16:9) and then slowly increase the resolution and keep the aspect ratio if it success. You can also try contact the manufacturer to avoid doing the experiments.
  4. I've did a comparison with Borate's mpeg4.avi and Toadstool's cricket.avi. Here's the only difference: mpeg4.avi: Width : 720 pixels Height : 304 pixels Display aspect ratio : 2.35:1 Frame rate : 29.970 fps cricket.avi: Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 1 080 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate : 30.000 fps
  5. Thanks for file. With or without the blank text clips makes no different for me. Maybe it was fixed? Could you please tell me where on the timeline you see the extra frames?
  6. Thanks for sharing the file, I'll have a look and get back here when I find something. You can type in any resolution by select "Custom" in the pull down list.
  7. I will not discuss or share the context. The project files will be only used by VP developers and will be deleted once the issue is closed. We can check the VPJ file first without the media files. There will be no context in the VPJ file and only shows the way you layout clips. If we can't find an issue then you might need to upload the media files. You can put the VPJ file anywhere since it's small - DropBox, Google Drive or One Drive etc. and PM me the link.
  8. Is the project you showing here contains all the problems? Is it possible to share the files? Do you mean there is no gaps you can see in the timeline but they appear after export? It looks like the text clips created gaps? Do you mean when playback on preview?
  9. @borate: Would you mind let's see your Compression Settings? @Toadstool: Please check your resolution settings. Did you use the same resolution as above(720 x 304)? Also please make sure use MPEG4(Native) instead of XviD MPEG-4 Codec.
  10. Thanks for reporting this. I'll try it out.
  11. Please try the latest version see if it solve your problem.
  12. AVI is a container file format. Meaning that you can compress the video with any codec and put inside an AVI. The DVD player can extract the video stream from an AVI file but probably can't decode it since the codec is not supported. Even with the same codec, the player might not support all the settings and therefore unable to play it. I think if you can find a video that plays on that DVD player. We can analyse that video file see what the DVD player supports.
  13. Can you find any video file that can be played on the DVD player?
  14. Hi Jan, Please try the new release see if it fixes your problem.
  15. New: To make effect editing more intuitive, we added the following view options to Clip Preview to display: the clip only the clip with underlay clips composed sequence for the clip's duration [*]Added Link/Unlink buttons on Clip Preview. [*]Make black and white effect optional in Old Film effect. [*]Added more options to Page Curl effect. Fixed: Fixed black screen occasionally added at the end of the video. Fixed media list always scroll to top after adding a new media.
  16. Thanks Nat for telling your experience. I think it's good to have it on our support FAQ.
  17. Have you tried switch to the other codec (H264/MPEG)?
  18. Hi Jan, Yes, we've found VP can introduce black screen at the end in some cases. This issue is fixed and applied to the upcoming new version. The new version will be released in a few days.
  19. We've recently change the video processing pipeline to multi-threaded. It could be an issue if so many threads running at the same time on 1 or 2 CPU cores. Especially for thumbnail - each thumbnail is generated by a separated processing pipeline. I'll investigate this problem and try fall back to single threaded if not many CPU cores available.
  20. Hi Nat, VP has a few background thread running to generate cache, thumbnails and process sound and images. That message is shown when you shutting down VP. It only shows of VP waiting for a background threads to end. Which version are you comparing to?
  21. Which VideoPad version are you using? Windows or Mac? If it happens in the latest version(v4.45), please upload your project files to DropBox, Google Drive or One Drive etc. and share the files to us or PM me the link.
  22. Which version are you using? The issue should be fixed from v4.44 onward.
  23. Please contact our support team. They will help you with registration issues.

    HELP!

There is only one autosave file: C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\VideoPad\autosave.vpj. You will be prompt to load the auto-saved project if VP detected it when start up. It will be deleted if VideoPad shutdown normally. In your case, unfortunately it's already deleted if you don't get prompt when VP start up. Autosave was never designed as a backup file. If VP don't delete the autosave file, there will be too many on the disk without you even notice.
