  1. Can't say why the project is messed up, but here's a quick fix... MUTE audio track one. With the scrubber (red line) positioned at the head of the time line, click the AUDIO FILES tab in the media bin. Right click on the mp3 and Overlay on Sequence at Cursor. That will place your music on track 2. You will also want to fix the final title slide. Click the IMAGES media bin tab. Click on that text file. Click the black box under the preview window. Position the cursor after the word "season" and press the enter key on your keyboard.
  2. Don't rename. Put your project up on a server, as suggested above, and someone will take a look.
  3. There's no mute option to the left of a video track. The mute for the video's audio is on the associated audio track. If there's a single video track 1, and it has audio, then there will be an audio track 1 as well. Mute that audio track and the video's audio will be silent.
  4. The mp3 music needs to be on a separate track from the audio track that's associated with the video files. THAT track stays UNmuted. If you'd like someone to check out the issue, here's how... 1. Save your project, then with the project on the timeline, click the FILE menu. Then SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS. Save to any convenient folder. 2. Open the folder that contains the saved files and ZIP them all. 3. Upload the zip file to DropBox, Google Drive, MS OneDrive or the like. It's free. 4. Make the uploaded file public (share it) and copy the shared link. 5. Paste the link into this forum.
  5. Precisely. Your video track is associated with a single audio track - likely track one. MUTE the audio on that track and the audio associated with the video will be silent.
  6. Each audio track, whether linked to your video or separate music/narration, has a mute icon to its left. Or use the slider to turn down volume, as miggy suggests.
  7. Separation of channels can be done in VP. Right-click the audio clip, UNlink FROM VIDEO. Right-click the audio clip, then COPY. Move the scrubber (red line) to the head of the clip, right-click and PASTE AS OVERLAY. Click FX on one channel, click the green + cross and apply the PAN effect full left. Do the same on the other audio channel and apply PAN far right.
  8. If you'd like someone to check out the issue, here's how... 1. With the project on the timeline, click the FILE menu.
  9. After clicking APPLY the eq that you configured should be in effect for the selected clip. See Nat's reply, below.
  10. Click the FX icon on the audio clip and the effects window appears. Click the large green + sign at the top left and choose PAN. Move the slider far left or right. Audio will be heard only on the side you have chosen.
  11. You're welcome. This is the completed project - an approximately 700Mb mp4 file that may take some time to download.
  12. Upload one or two of the files to a free server - Dropbox, Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc - so someone can check them out. Share the link and post it here. What is the format of these files?
  13. Registered software allows multiple audio tracks... Right-click the audio clip and Place Clip On Sequence. Or drag the file into the ADD area below audio track one.
  14. Cute Video editing is resource intensive and this high-res project may be taxing your PC, which could explain your issue. Lowest preview resolution was used here and it took about fifteen minutes before all files were cached - confirmed by a nearly solid green line displayed above the thumbnails. Working with files this high in resolution is problematic. Videopad should do better if the files are first converted to 1920 X 1080 (or smaller) format. (Mp4 is a solid choice.) Quality won't suffer measurably. It's possible to use very low-res files for editing, to ease the VP and PC load, then substitute higher-res clips for the export using the right-click CHANGE FILE feature. Music audio that was panned to the right channel has been centered. The audio of the first two scenes is mono, while music is stereo. Because of this, VP shifts the mono track to a single left channel when exported. This was corrected by converting those scenes' audio to stereo in another utility and reinserting them. There was unneeded, redundant audio of the first clip on another track. And each clip edge, with a freeze transition, is normally a single, clean cut point that the Go to next clip edge buttons can locate. With an overlap transition there are usually three points. In this project, each edge instead had four cut points. ?? May be related to transition problems that were encountered.
  15. Use a right-click on the audio clips, individually, and UNLINK FROM VIDEO. Then, at the left of the audio track, click the LOCK TRACK icon. Now proceed to do what you will with video, and the audio will be unaffected.
  16. Let someone take a look. Here's how... 1. Save your work. Then, with the project on the timeline, click the FILE menu.
  17. For screenshot posting tips see "Tips for getting help on this forum" near the top of the topic listings. Hard to tell just what you have there, but it appears that audio will be heard from tracks 1 and 2 - with some track 2 breaks - through where the video thumbnails end - then new audio on track 1 carries on without video. If you don't want those track 2 holes, close them up. Right-click in the gap and CLOSE GAP. If you'd like someone to check out the problem, here's how... 1. Save your project. Then, with the entire project on the timeline, click the FILE menu. SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS.
  18. What Videopad version is being used? Here is the latest. Under OPTIOINS|DISK tab, Clear Unused Cache Files. May help, won't hurt.
  19. While yours is a large project, the best way to pin down the issue is to share a portion of it that has the problem. The developers will run tests. Save your work, then follow the instructions above.

In Windows 10 here there's nothing wrong with your project, save the very low volume music intro. Upgrade the video driver, from the chip, card or manufacturer's WEB site. May be unrelated, but worth doing. In Videopad, under OPTIONS|EDITING tab, check the Use Hardware Accelerated Video Effects box or UNcheck if already checked. Any difference?

What version of Videopad? Clear Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS|DISK tab. Install the latest video driver from the card or chip manufacturer's WEB site. If you share the project someone will check it out. Here's how... 1. With the project on the timeline, click the FILE menu.

What, precisely, do you mean by "apply the effect?" The background should be on track one. The PNG is overlaid on track 2. Under the preview window, confirm that the VIEW menu is set for CLIP AND BACKGROUND.
  23. Open OPTIONS|DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. This is a good idea when starting a new project. What version of Videopad is being used? Try the latest. If still no joy, perhaps you can share a short project that has the issue. Here's how... 1. With the project on the timeline, click the FILE menu.
  24. That's been fixed in later versions, Nat. It's now readable once again.
  25. In Windows 10, the DAT extension is associated with VP. Can't say why. That means that VP will launch when the DAT file is clicked. Still, you should be able to install the DAT file mod from within the gaming app itself. Open the game and look for a FILE menu|open file option. Then open the DAT from there.
