  1. In numerous tests with 7.25 here the issue didn't surface. That's not to say it won't, but it's worth a try. If the file is open, as in a player, VP cannot overwrite it. Retain your old installer, which is normally saved in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad" path. You can always revert. Keep in mind that upgrades are free for six-months from date of purchase.
  2. Try a PM to my mailbox. If the issue can't be resolved it will be forwarded to a developer.
  3. MATCH MONITOR will display what you see on your monitor if the export setting has not been overridden when choosing another export resolution. The export res applies to the entire sequence, not just to an individual clip. No. That's but one method of changing the aspect ratio. But it offers a wide variety of choices to optimally display individual clips. Probably, viewing as MATCH MONITOR, if the AUTO MATCH suggestion in the export dialog (and it's just a suggestion) matches your monitor's resolution. Generally, dealing with an individual clip in the bin might be the most direct method of addressing A/R. Secondly, the A/R effects choices - letterbox, crop and stretch - can be applied. Will take some experimentation If you upload your project as instructed above someone will view it as you see it, and help to clear up these issues. Or post the info that Nat requested. Be aware too that in Windows 10 an ISO file can be played as if it were a DVD, sparing you the waste of a disk. In the BURNER field of Videopad's DVD movie disk output window choose IMAGE FILE. Then open the ISO that results by double clicking on it. A new drive letter should appear in the Windows 10 file manager. And this drive can be opened as a DVD in a player like MPC-HC.
  4. Using the text editor's FULL yellow background with red lettering there is no "bounce" here. Upload an example of what you see.
  5. MATCH MONITOR and MATCH CONTENT affect the preview display, not the output. If you haven't already done so, open the effects window for your clip and then use the aspect change option that looks best. You can also change the aspect ratio of the clip in the bin prior to adding it to the sequence. Use the right-click menu Many choices are available. When the photos stretch out is this on the sequence, or in the exported file? Upload the PORTABLE project per the instructions here... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ Someone will check it out.
  6. This has been noted in past versions, with the workaround as you describe. If the file is open in a viewer, overwrite won't succeed. But in several tests of beta 7.25 overwrite worked well. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file. It normally archived in this path: "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad"
  7. In many cases, it is unfamiliarity with the software that causes these issues. Specifically, what is being done when the black frame issue appears? How are you making the cuts? Are clips being inserted between existing clips? When switching to Storyboard mode, is the error visible as a very short clip? Share your project and someone will check it out... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/
  8. Once an effect's parameters are configured they are applied - automatically. Readjust them as desired. Press <ctrl-Z> (FILE|EDIT|UNDO) or click the X to delete the effect.
  9. Place the bubble on a higher (overlay) track than the background, precisely where and for how long you want it to appear. Click the FX icon at the bottom-left of the clip thumbnail or EFFECTS in the menu bar and use POSITION, SCALE or MOTION to size and position it. (This is picture-in-picture.) If the bubble is a transparent png image it should blend in very well.
  10. Older versions had few issues within their series: 6.x, 7.x. Only very recently. programming changes for the better may cause backward compatiblity with certain effects and aspect ratios that were created with earlier versions. Most folks likely won't encounter them. As for the subs default, click the chevron at the upper-right of the VP window and make an improvement suggestion. THE way to sleuth problems is to share the project, as suggested above. Then folks can run it just as you see it.
  11. If you are referring to the subtitle PLAY button, it should function normally in this beta version. Install it and see.
  12. What Videopad version is being used? No similar reports of clips being rearranged have come to light. The best way to sort this is to share your project. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ You might also try the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest, so retain your original install file. It's usually archived in this path: "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad"
  13. It's likely that much of this confusion will clear when you are more familiar with the program. Takes time. MATCH MONITOR works fine, and relies upon the resolution of your monitor. The two choices there apply to how the clip displays in the preview window. Upload the two photos that require different aspect ratios and indicate how you want them to appear. http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/
  14. There are three new choices in the effects window in recent Videopad versions. Test each, to see if one achieves your objective. In SEQUENCE preview mode, it is probably best to choose MATCH MONITOR in the Aspect Ratio box under the preview window.
  15. That VP defaults to ALL subtitles is likely by design; most subs are consistent in their placement. When a project is reloaded, the saved SELECTED placements are correct. Older VP versions are available here. Projects that use scaling and some other effects created in earlier versions may not import correctly into the latest. Significant changes were made in how they are processed. It's best to export with the version - or close to the version - that created the project. Please FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT, zip, upload and share. Here's how: http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ Someone will check out your work. If it contains sensitive material you can post the shared link into a personal message (PM) to me or to a developer. Click the envelope at the top-right of this forum.
  16. The issue above doesn't happen here. Two clips are on the sequence. The scrubber (red line) is positioned at the juncture between them, using the ||> and <|| icons. A third clip in the bin is right-clicked and instructed to PLACE ON SEQUENCE AT CURSOR. It drops in between the two original clips without affecting their length. For best help here, describe your issue in detail. Mention the version being used and your PC's specs.
  17. Video editing is resource intensive. 100 10GB files are sure to choke a PC with but 4GB RAM. Proxy editing may help. http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/26563-proxy-editing/ In any case, you might break the project into small chunks and export each at a reasonable but lower quality. Then load those files into VP (they are now just clips) and export the final. There are also utilities available that can merge Mp4 files. Version 4.48 is old. Here is the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest, so retain your install file.
  18. There is an ADVANCED button in the DVD export window that leads to a page where bitrate can be set manually. Experiment. See this thread. And the old DVD Shrink utility may do the job for you. It's free. If payment is asked, it's a fake.
  19. This is a thread from 2011. It's best to begin a new thread with a descriptive subject and specifics in the body. Confirmed. The subtitle screen PLAY button is inoperative with a 5.01-created Mp4 in 7.24. It functions normally in this beta version. This wasn't a .vpj project file, but the final export. That it was created with 5.01 is probably irrelevant - it's a standard Mp4 - but no further tests were done. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.
  20. It's understood now that the original was shot off center, as if a phonograph record's hole were not in the middle. You might want to re-shoot.^_^ Correcting that in VP can prove tedious, but not impossible, by plotting an animation. The plot would look similar to this... Click EFFECTS and choose the POSITION effect. Be sure the scrubber (red line) is at the start. In the preview window, drag the ring so it's centered in the circle. Click the small green + sign. Then move the line to where the ring has changed position slightly. Re-center the ring. Continue doing this in small increments along the timeline. Each increment and centering will create a keyframe (dot). Experiment to determine how many keyframes result in the smoothest presentation. For specifics on animation see http://tinyurl.com/y6fql2a9 VP_ring.mp4
  21. There may be a disconnect here. Your latest sample shows the ring moving from right to left, so that's what you will get if it is keyed over a background in Videopad. It's not static, and simply circling. Were that the case, as in this low-res example, it would not move.
  22. The uhd or mp4 video of only the circling ring - just as you shot it - is likely what we need to see. Upload it if possible.
  23. Your video link works. But how did you animate the circling ring? Is that a gif?
  24. Please upload and share the animation of just the circling ring, if that is the source.
  25. Keyframe one, at the start of the sequence, is ROTATE zero. Keyframe two, at the end, is ROTATE 360 degrees. Or use the PRESET drop-down menu and choose Spin.
