  1. No. But for compatibility you can change the aspect ratio of a clip while it's still in the bin, before placing it on the timeline. Right-click the clip and choose that option.
  2. Be sure that no mask is being applied - effects window, third button from the left on the toolbar. Works just fine in the latest version using the position and scale effects. Resolved. See below.
  3. Follow the above-linked instructions and someone will check it out. Not difficult, just takes a little time. Be sure to save as a PORTABLE project, not simply a Project.
  4. Let someone examine the project. Load it onto the timeline, click FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT, zip it, upload to a server, share the file and link it here. Complete instructions: http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/

    Rosetta

Google owns YouTube (along with most everything else).
  6. There are a number of ways to accomplish this. Here's one. Move the scrubber (red line) to where the section to be cut out will begin and click the SPLIT scissors. Move the scrubber to where the section to be cut out will END and SPLIT. This creates a new clip. (If the clip already exists there's no need to split.) Position the scrubber within this clip, right-click and COPY. Right-click within the clip and DELETE (ripple) Move the scrubber the where you want the clip to be inserted, right-click on any thumbnail and PASTE (insert). If the clip's audio is not linked to the video, first click the lock icon at the left of the track, so audio isn't disturbed. Record_2019_07_31_18_32_31_812.mp4
  7. Worth a test. File size/format will also be factors, of course. Report results here.
  8. Not that's been published. That said, hardware limitations may impact export efficiency and capability. Video editing/rendering is resource intensive.
  9. To confirm that the recording is faulty you might test playback in another Mac application. This project would likely be too large and time consuming to upload to a free server, where it could be accessed by others for diagnosis. You may have export success if you split it - perhaps into four 2MB parts - exporting each as Mp4. Then use a tool like this to combine the files.

    Record Over Video

Update to the latest version and see if the problem goes away. The Record Over Video function previews correctly here. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file.
  11. What Videopad version? What are your PC's specs: CPU, GPU, free drive space, RAM? While exporting were all other programs closed? The latest VP version is here. Try it, but retain your original install file. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.
  12. Interestingly, the MKV file in the package lists as 720 x 480. This may be a misrepresentation by the file reader... As the sole file in the VP video bin it is shown as 640 x 480, which I believe is correct. Standard NTSC. On the VP timeline there are two identical 4:31 video clips and a continuous audio file under both. This does not appear to be the original sequence that created the project, but a later incarnation incorporating many transitions??? No video effects are present. This suggests that what's needed instead is to load a small portion - say five minutes - of the original build that created the MKV, complete with effects and transitions. Then save it as a portable project and upload/share.
  13. The link you supplied leads to a single exported file -not the project files or any screenshots. The file name is Coil-ColourSoundOblivion-Dvd16deinterlacedX264Flac-002.mkv It is a 2:23:28 video that ends with this screen. (You likely mean excerpt #6.) The video plays well, with no glitches or pauses. There's no lip sync, so the sync issue cannot be assessed.
  14. What version of VP are you using? This is the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. When you refer to "three boxes" do you mean the video effect aspect ratio choices? In the export window don't simply accept the suggested resolution. Click the chevron to the right of that box and manually choose it - perhaps 1920 x 1080P. The only way others can sleuth the issue is if you share the project, not the export. Here's how ... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/
  15. This is the same file as linked above. When played in MPC-HC the slow audio fade ends just before the final font appears. When skipping ahead the audio and video resume instantly and concurrently. Audio never cuts out. As it stands, the output that you have linked looks perfectly good. There is no way to test the effects issue and render the video unless you supply the PORTABLE PROJECT or a portion thereof that demonstrates the issues, as instructed earlier.
  16. Upload and share the project, for testing. If indeed there is a problem the developers will want to tackle it.
  17. Some confusion there. You say 2500 x 2304 Auto Match works...but results in a smaller frame on export? What is the resolution of that exported file? And in what version of VP was it "suitable and the right one?" What resolution was the exported file at that time? Share your project, as instructed in my initial response, and someone will check it out.
  18. Yes. Letterbox AUTO works as well. However, if the zoom is first added to the portrait shot, then the letterbox effect, the timeline thumbs and preview window for that clip go blank.
  19. No so here, using 7.25 and exporting at 1920x1080 Mp4. The portrait jpg displays with the intended zoom (several settings were tested).
  20. Without the portable project file, little can be discerned. The latest version is here, though there can be some backward incompatibility. This is why it's recommended to export with the version that created the project. As for export, Mp4 and AVI are wrappers that contain compressors. The Mp4 default is H264. Try installing the VP 'lite' version once again. It exports Mp4 here. If that fails there, choose the AVI export format, then click on the Default Quality/Filesize link and verify H264, which should produce a comparable result. Save your project. Then, with it on the timeline, export a small portion that demonstrates the effects issue. To do this easily place the mouse point in the blank gray area between the time index and the thumbnails, then left-click/drag. You should see a blue highlight. Press delete to remove that section. When only the demo portion remains, save it as a portable project, zip it, upload and share here.
  21. It's not common. What VP version did you install? The latest is here. First, back up your work with FILE|SAVE PROJECT AS, giving it a unique # or name so as not to overwrite an earlier back up. Let someone take a look at the project. Here's how...http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ When using the FILE menu be sure to save as PORTABLE project, zip the result, upload the zip file to a free server, share the file and post the shared link here or in a Personal Message to me (click the envelope at the top-right of this forum's index window).
  22. This is a very old thread; best to begin a new one with descriptive subject and specifics about the problem. What VP version is being used? Here is the latest. Extensive changes have been made since 2013. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. If the direct YouTube upload fails, export your file in a YT compatible format (see above) and use their uploader. Free peer-to-peer support in this forum is very good when folks have the patience to work with those who help out.
  23. First thing: FILE|SAVE PROJECT. Be sure the audio track is not muted. Look at the 'speaker' icon at its left. Verify that the audio track is not SOLOed, if there are multiple tracks. Look at the icon just to the right of the speaker icon. What VP version is being used? Try the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest, so save your installer. If still no joy, please share your project. FILE|SAVE AS A PORTABLE PROJECT. http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ Let's check it out. If the project is sensitive you can share the link with me or a developer in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope at the top-right of the forum index page window.
  24. The dark skin was a change made in Windows versions some time ago. There's no option to revert to the older white UI. Try this Mac beta, but retain your old installer. You may will have to pay for an upgrade to register the new version... For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Checked out scaling of a video in a video and there was no zoom. Untitled.mp4
