  1. Do not panic! If you saved a good project file, you're protected. (Always save AS regularly, with a unique # or name so as not to overwrite the earlier saves.) Look under FILE menu|RECENT PROJECTS. When did you pay? What version are you using? Upgrades are free for up to six months. If you'd like to test it, here is the latest. Significant improvements in the latest versions unavoidably caused some backward incompatibilities. That's unusual, and most folks won't run across them. Still, it's wise to export with the version that created the project. Some things to try. Open VP without a project being loaded. Click the OPTIONS icon, then the DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Then reload your project. Uninstall VP via Control Panel|Programs and Features, then reinstall it. If you didn't save it elsewhere, the installer file that you purchased should be in "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad" If no joy, please share your FILE menu|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT here or in a personal message to me. Click the MAIL icon at the top of this forum. Instructions on sharing are here.
  2. The free (lite) version limits certain features. Purchase the program and enjoy all its bells and whistles. Mp4 is a wrapper that contains various compressors. The default is H264. AVI is also a wrapper - same default... Exporting as an AVI should succeed.
  3. Drop a note to tech support. Can't hurt... http://tinyurl.com/y5gq6mbr File a bug report. Click the chevron to the right of the ? at the top-right of the VP window and SEND BUG REPORT.
  4. Tested in 7.25, the configuration boxes appear but the plugin seems to do nothing, no matter what options are checked? As an example No effect.
  5. Perhaps tech support will provide insight? Mention the specific plugin/s. http://tinyurl.com/y5gq6mbr
  6. Tested a WAV file where volume had been reduced by 50%, and an Mp3 amplified 110%. Could not duplicate your result on a low-end PC with the latest free version. Worked fine. Suggest uninstalling VP via Control Panel|ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS, then installing from the above link. If prompted when the program launches, click on LITE VERSION. Better still, purchase Videopad and register it, so you can take advantage of all features.
  7. With regards to the 'tics' - a brief test with 6.20 here seemed to be clean. And, as noted earlier, the issue isn't apparent when export uses the MPEG4 video codec in 7.25.
  8. To avoid churning out DVD coasters, instead set VP's options to burn an Image, which will create an ISO file. That will allow you to assess quality prior to a disk burn. Opening an ISO in Windows 10 mounts a new drive letter (in the Explorer file manager). That drive is essentially a DVD, which can be played with MPC-HC media player and the like. When done, right-click the drive and Eject. The ISO can be burned to DVD with the appropriate software, such as Express Burn. You can specify bitrate for your DVD video. Click the Save icon in the toolbar and select the Disc save option and click the Make DVD Movie option. Click the Advanced button to open the DVD Bitrate Settings dialog. The default option is to calculate the bitrate automatically. To set the bitrate manually, select the manual option and adjust the bitrates. Share a snippet of your project, as seen on the sequence. Someone will check it out. Here's how: http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/
  9. Yes, if the recorders are not sync locked, the result may be as described. Hours have been spent here on that issue. One method to overcome the discrepancy that succeeds on occasion is to slightly speed or slow the audio track in VP until it lines up with the video. Takes experimentation and there can be a lack of alignment where A/V don't end concurrently. That may be addressed with a later import and trim of the exported project. You might also try a slight readjustment of sync at intervals, if that doesn't alter the flow. Whether that will succeed depends to a great degree on the nature of the material. Others may chime in here with better suggestions.
  10. Assuming that you are using the latest versions, 7.24 or 7.25, there will be an Aspect Ratio drop-down menu next to the split button, under the preview window. Click the chevron and choose MATCH MONITOR. The preview will then display properly for your monitor. Type your text so it doesn't exceed the boundaries of the image area and see if this corrects the problem. You can also try CROP TO ASPECT RATIO in the effects menu for the image or CROP AND ZOOM in the export box when outputting the project, to see if the result is pleasing. If these methods do not succeed, please share the project so others can take a look. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/
  11. Normally, there is backward compatibility within a series. Yet in recent versions significant improvements have been made that change the way some features are processed. This could explain the problem. You have the project file, so you're safe. To complete it, install the version used to create it. Usually the installer is saved in this path on the PC: "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad" Or get it here and install. Go to OPTIONS|DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Then load the project. If this doesn't resolve the issue, visit the forum again.
  12. 7.25 has been released, so try this download. In reality there are several d/l builds - at least of the betas. Same version #. One may auto-migrate imported clips to the sequence, the other not. A random marketing thing. In this case, 7.25 was downloaded from the above link. A .wav and three .mp3s were imported. In this build, if only a single clip is imported it's automatically added to the sequence, or the end of the sequence. If multiple files are imported they go strictly to the bin. The previously cleared cache looked like this, and there were no white lines in the audio displays. Yes, odd.^_^ The bolder sequence clip dividers are a welcome enhancement.
  13. Repeatedly cleared cache and reloaded Amazer_Lazer.mp3 into the latest 7.25. Cache contained only the two files in your first 7.24 example, and no white lines, irrespective of zoom level. Something isn't adding up here.
  14. Several 'tics' heard in the exported file. Switch to the MPEG4 video compressor and audio export is clean. No white lines observed. The file name at the pre-release site indicates7.26, but that's a placeholder. The version offered at the time of d/l here was 7.25. The issue has been reported.

Is the color of the text blending into the background image? Change the color. A text clip on a higher (overlay) track than the image/video should appear superimposed over the video.
  16. A one-minute video should export very quickly; if it took an hour then, yes, something is not kosher, even if your system is low-end. Share your project and others will test it. Just follow the instructions here: http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ Be sure to FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT, not simply SAVE AS PROJECT.
  17. Perhaps. Try <ctrl-alt-del> and then sign out. Try <ctrl-shift-esc>. Under the PROCESSES tab, scroll to the Windows Explorer item, right-click on it and click RESTART.
  18. Odd. Immediately brings up a SAVE AS box here. Try this: https://www.nchsoftware.com/download/videopadlaunch.exe Or simply go to the Videopad home page and download from there.
  19. What VP version started the project? What version is running after the update? If the sequence plays okay, despite the incomplete line, you're probably good to go. It is wise to complete your work with the version used at the outset. Recent improvements may limit backward compatibility of some effects. This might relate to your issue. Let someone take a look at your project, and they will help. Follow instructions here: http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ Be sure to SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT, not SAVE AS PROJECT.
  20. What VP version are you using? See this thread. If all else fails try a reinstall.
  21. Try the version linked above and report results here.
  22. What VP version are you using? Here's the latest. May solve the issue. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file. It is normally archived in this path: "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad"
  23. Assuming this is your 'baby' project, see the other thread and my PM.
  24. It is difficult to unravel exactly how the project was constructed, but after deleting aspect ratio changes on most clips, then exporting at 1980 x 1020p with the letterbox default it looked sharp. See my PM for a link to the downloadable finished product and the corrected portable project files.
