  1. That specific fault was fixed back in 2018 this is an old thread. What Videopad version is being used? What format for export - Mp4, MOV, AVI? What settings? Please share the project. Someone will test it for you. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material you can link it in a personal message (PM) to me, via the envelope above. Be sure to FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to share it.
  2. Scale first. Or, better, use the MOTION effect, and either scale or position first. VP_overlay.mp4
  3. What version of Videopad is being used? Best way to hunt this down is to share the project. It's easy, and someone will check it out. 4. Once the EQ is set click the Save Preset button and give it a name. In the future you will find that preset at the bottom of the preset list.

    Text Editor Error

Doesn't here. Again, be sure that text and background are different colors. If the text color matches the preview image background the text might not show. Swipe the text in the preview window while holding down the left mouse button. Does it appear then? Perhaps a screen grab would better demonstrate what you see. Here's how to link it... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/

    Text Editor Error

No problem seeing text fades here in the preview window of the latest VP release. Make certain that the text color is different from the background or it won't be seen in the text composition window. Fades don't preview in that window.
  7. As a test, under OPTIONS|EDITING tab, toggle the Use Hardware Acceleration check box to the other state to see if that makes a difference. Clear Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS|DISK tab. What version of Videopad is being used? Share the project and mention specifics of where the issue occurs. Someone will check it out. It's not difficult... exporting video

Glad you worked it out. Use your favorite search engine for "PC specs for video editing." Lesser configurations may suffice, but working with them can prove tedious. Consider a gamer-class PC in general if you plan on doing extensive editing. If you'd like to see the likelihood of how a higher-end machine might reduce export time, please upload the project and specify the format and resolution. We'll run it.
  9. THE best way to track this down is for others to be able to run your project. Please share it. The process isn't difficult. As noted in the link above... 10. When composing text, keep it within the bounds of the image in the preview window.

    exporting video

What version of Videopad is being used and what are the specs of your PC: CPU, GPU, free space on the C:\ drive, RAM? Video editing is resource intensive. Five hours isn't normal. Make changes, then select (highlight) the clips that you want to preview export. Press <ctrl-C> to copy them. Open a new blank sequence by clicking the + sign to the right of the sequence 1 tab, to the left and above the timeline. Press <ctrl-V> to paste. Now export THAT sequence, to review the material that you copied. The main sequence 1 won't be exported. As for stalling, be sure to let the clips cache fully before previewing. The green line above the thumbnails should be mostly complete, perhaps with a few breaks at transitions. Toggle the Use Hardware Acceleration option, under OPTIONS menu|EDITING tab to see if that makes a difference. If the files are very high-def or large, proxy editing may help. See http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/26563-proxy-editing/ Share your project. Someone will check it out and perhaps spot problems. It's easy... 12. Nice method described by Nat, that doesn't require export. Yet another adaptation that would be useful if the to-be-zoomed clips are already 'buried' in the project. 1. Select the eight and press <ctrl-C>, to copy them. 2. Click the + to the right of the sequence 1 tab, to open a new blank sequence. 3. Press <ctrl-V> to paste. 4. Click the sequence 1 tab to again display the main sequence. 5. Select the eight clips and hold down <alt> while pressing the DEL key. This will delete the eight and leave a gap in the sequence. 6. In the bin (top-left) click the SEQUENCE tab. 7. Drag sequence 2 into the gap. This is now a single clip. Apply the zoom to that clip. Many methods in this flexible editor. Choose the one that best suits your style.
  13. Select (highlight) the eight clips and press <ctrl-C>, to copy. Click the + sign to the right of the sequence 1 tab, just above the left side of the timeline. A blank sequence is shown. In the new sequence press <ctrl-V> to paste. Export that sequence. Alternatively in sequence 1, place the scrubber (red line) at the start of the clips. The pointer will become two-headed. Right-click and drag right, to select all eight. They will be highlighted. Right-click in the selected area and EXPORT SELECTED REGION. Then import the clip that results back into your main sequence and animate a ZOOM effect, or try PAN AND ZOOM. http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/effects_animating.html
  14. What's needed is the project itself, not the completed video. Just follow the instructions in the above link - FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT, then upload it, share it, and post the shared link here.
  15. What Videopad version is being used? Before the clips are placed on the timeline right-click in the preview window and change the Aspect Ratio to match the source clips - 9x16. Then create text that fits within the image area. At export the text should then stay within that boundary, whatever the export resolution. If this does not succeed, please share your project and someone will check it out. It's not difficult, Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material you can link it in a personal message (PM) to me, via the envelope above. 16. This is an old thread, and it's wise to begin anew with a descriptive subject. But now that we're here... What Videopad version is being used? Consider burning a DVD/R-W disk for tests, to avoid making coasters. Please share your project, or a portion thereof, so someone can check out DVD compatibly. It's not difficult. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material you can link it in a personal message (PM) to me, via the envelope above. 17. Please upload the 1080 source file.
  18. Test the zoom effect in the latest beta v7.34. Allegedly, it has been reworked and applies no scaling. Zoom_test.mp4
  19. Hard to say why performance improved. It's wise to Clear Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS|DISK when first starting to edit a project. Then let the cache load fully before previewing. Reloading, if the project is still in cache, should be relatively speedy. Rebooting occasionally isn't a bad idea. If you get the time, do share part or all of your project - for analysis.
  20. The devs read the suggestions. Scaling the image/video and exporting at the desired resolution results in a nice presentation.
  21. It appears that your desired result cannot be achieved without scaling, but can be seen if the player is scaled to present the video in that manner - such as 2x size in MPC-HC. Others may chime in here with better solutions. File a suggestion by clicking the chevron at the top-right of the VP window.
  22. Try this... Add the 1920x1080 image/video to the sequence. Open Effects and apply Crop to Aspect Ratio. Export at 960x540. The result...
  23. In your example, if the cropped export is to be 960x540, then set the Custom output size accordingly. Here is a 1920x1080 exported in that manner...
  24. Go to OPTIONS|EDITING menu and toggle the Hardware Acceleration item to the other state, to see if that has an impact. It would also be helpful if others could see and run the project - on both low-and high-end PCs. Please share it in full, or a segment that displays the buffering issue... 25. Began with this... Applied a simple crop, and got this... If you want it to fill the frame it will be necessary to scale it larger, which results in this...
