  1. You have changed focus to the sequence. To get the preview window box back, click the blue CENSOR bar that's above the sliders in the effects window. Or just use the sliders to position the effect.
  2. Split out your clip, isolating the portion to be censored. In essence that will create a new clip within a clip to which the effect can be applied.
  3. What you see in preview should be pretty much what you get - if MATCH MONITOR mode is chosen. But even if MATCH CONTENT is the choice, the image should not move vertically when exported. If there's a difference between VP preview and the exported file, it could be a monitor issue. Have you tested another monitor? As to effect placement: Effects can be animated. Keyframes (represented by dots) can be set for IN/OUT times ... and to track a moving image, if necessary. As the subject changes position, drag the effects window scrubber (red line) to the new position. A new keyframe should be automatically set. If not, click the green + sign. Here is an in-depth look at how to animate. Share your project and someone will check it out. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material you can link it in a personal message (PM) to me, via the envelope above. Be sure to FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to share it.
  4. That isn't happening here. Dropped a song to the audio track, then began adding still images, one-by-one, to the video track just above and the audio wasn't affected. This with the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Click the lock icon to the left of the audio track, to lock it. If there is no icon, right-click in that area and LOCK TRACK.
  5. Tested successfully on several clips here. To continue the diagnosis, try this... 1. Clear Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS|DISK tab. If no joy... 2. Delete this folder on your PC: "C:\Users\<your account>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components" Then reinstall. If both these measures fail, please upload the file in question to a free server, such as MS OneDrive or Google Drive. Share the file, then post the shared link here. Someone will test it.
  6. If you purchased less than six-months ago the registration code should be valid. But retain your 7.10 installer in case you want to restore it and re-register if need be. Usually, the installer is automatically saved to this path on the PC... "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad" And VP can be used without registering, but some features may be disabled. You can also test other versions that have been released within your six-month period. They are here, listed with their release dates
  7. Try the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Report back.
  8. As Nat suggests, this is likely a function of the player, not Videopad. For example, using MPC-HC here, setting the playback option to ZERO times loads the clip but does not auto-play.
  9. The developers are aware of this thread. But as we have been unable to replicate your findings, it will be tough for them to spot the problem without your files/project to analyze.
  10. X is the horizontal axis, Y is vertical. When the A/R (aspect ratio) box is checked, the (ratio) sliders are locked together. Compose a text overlay with an X in the center. With Scale settings at the default, move the X (ratio) slider and note that the X overlay changes size but not screen position. It remains centered. Now set the Base X slider to -60. This creates a new base point designated by the black dot. The X is no longer centered. As the X (ratio) slider is moved the image moves towards and away from the repositioned base point. Reset the Base X to 0.00 and set the Offset X slider to -60. As the X (ratio) slider is moved the X will be offset from the base point. Play around and it will start to make sense. Complex moves can be created.
  11. Add Objects > Add Overlay Image is one route. Or position the scrubber (red line) where you want the overlay to be and right-click the image in the bin. Choose OVERLAY ON SEQUENCE AT CURSOR. OR simply drag the image to track 2. Depending upon the size of the track 2 image, it may be all that can be seen. Higher tracks take precedence over lower tracks. Click the fx button in that track 2 clip and use POSITION, SCALE or other effects to place and size it where you want it. The background image on track 1 will be seen behind the overlay. You can even animate the overlay image, to track the background scene. See http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/effects_animating.html Untitled.mp4
  12. If you send the project link to my private email it will be viewed only by me and, if there's an issue, by a developer. Then your file will be deleted. An alternative is to upload a few minutes of a VOB source file for analysis. To quote an earlier thread, a developer stated: "SomeVOB files need extra information to be played correctly. Therefore you'll normally find there are other files on a DVD rather than just theVOB file." That info isn't available if the VOB alone is loaded into VP. This has been noted on some VHS transfers. Two programs recorded onto DVD discs from cable TV were just tested here. Their VOB files, 30 seconds and 5 minutes respectively, previewed and exported with dead-on sync. What program was used to convert VHS to the DVD format? Suggest you try converting the VOBs to Mp4, before editing in VP. PRISM, for one, can do that. Might not make a difference, but you can also test the latest beta VP while retaining the installer for your current version. Please report results here. If a bug is found you may receive a free VP license.
  13. Doesn't sound like a card problem. Upload the clip and the image and share it here. Mention exactly where the screenshot is being added - at the end of the main track, as an overlay, etc.
  14. Export at the suggested 45 smart frame rate. If that doesn't cure it, try changing the duration of the transition rate slightly. Tested two identical text clip overlays, the 2nd blurred, with a crossfade between them. No glitch. Instead, It might be better to use a single text clip and animate the blur. Fewer steps, no transition needed. Both results looked the same here. Upload a project that contains this error; someone will check it out. http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/
  15. Set a custom export resolution and see if that works for you...
  16. What version of Videopad? The latest is here. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Have you tried exporting as a video file in a YouTube approved format, then using their uploader? http://tinyurl.com/y5et4nht
  17. What export format? What settings? Though sync problems have cropped up from time to time, rarely have they been evident here - and that was a long while ago. The best way to track this down is to let others analyze your project, just as you see it. This isn't difficult. If it's a bug, the developers will fix it and you may receive a free license. Here's how to share... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material you can link it in a personal message (PM) to me, via the envelope above. Be sure to FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to share it.
  18. Try applying the letterbox aspect ratio effect to the 4:3 clips prior to export. If that fails... THE best way to sort this out is to share your project, so others can analyze it. The process isn't difficult. It's best if we can see the entire project, but if it's lengthy, save it and then split out and delete portions that look good upon export, leaving the 4:3 clips and a few 16:9 that do not. Export those.
  19. Select (highlight) the clips where effects are to be removed. Click the fx button on one of those clips. Delete (X-out) all the effects, leaving the effects box blank. Click the fourth icon from the left in the effects window toolbar.
  20. Considering the nature of the video, the smaller file may be a better choice. But if you must export the large mt2s, check out this procedure...http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/26563-proxy-editing/
  21. What are your PC's specs: CPU, GPU, RAM, free space on C:\? File plays fine here in the latest preview release at 85 or 87% speed. Some preview stuttering, but that should not affect export. No "buffering" message, even in the non-cached area. Will take a long while to cache, owing to the 11GB file size. Your mention of "expired license" is confusing. If you purchased and registered VP, it should never expire. Have you tried re-registering?
  22. That FAQ's reference to changing preview format settings appears to be out of date, and has been reported. The setting was removed some time ago, and caching was improved. What version of Videopad is being used? Here is the latest.. https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/vppsetup.exe For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Let the green cache line (above the timeline) complete before previewing. If the buffering issue still exists use proxies for the 4K files. This is a common practice with many NLE systems, to make large files more manageable for editing. Quality does not suffer, original files are used for the export. http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/26563-proxy-editing/ Please share your project, or a portion thereof that displays the issue, so the developers can analyze what may be causing sluggishness. Folks will work with you and if a problem is found you may get a free license. Sharing is not difficult. 23. Tested it in the latest version? If no joy, upload the file and share it here. What speed are you shooting for? Someone will check it out.
  24. The correct way to migrate a project is to click the FILE menu, then SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS. You might save the result to a USB stick. Then insert the stick into PC #2 and click the .vpj file. Or open Videopad and open the project from the USB stick. With this method, it's a sure thing that all files, and the correct paths to them, will be available on any PC. If this doesn't solve the issue, post again.
  25. Unable to duplicate your issue here. What version of Videopad is being used? Here is the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months.
