  1. Unfamiliarity can be at the root of the issue. If audio and video are linked, one will affect the other. If unlinked, then locking the 'other' track is often a simple solution. What version is being used, and please be specific on what you see; there's considerable difference between the 6, 7 and 8 versions. Share your project and someone will work with you to solve the issue. The is easy, takes little time and can be private. Don't upload the export, just the project folder. 1. With your project on the timeline, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left. Click FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Specify a folder. Click SELECT FOLDER. 2. Using the PC file manager, go to where the numbered folder was saved and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* 3. Get a shared, public, non-restricted link. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  2. No expertise claimed on capture, but suggest that you test the different settings mentioned above. For the 'ghosting' issue, try a higher frame rate. Have you read this? http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/content_capturingvideo.html Post again with your findings and check back from time to time. Someone more knowledgeable may drop by.
  3. What version of Videopad is being used? Try the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Here's a somewhat dated thread that may be of use... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/25410-videos-with-multiple-audio-tracks/ And here is an audio extractor. It can split out the files for independent loading into VP. https://www.pazera-software.com/products/audio-extractor/ If no joy, please drop back here again. Upload your file to a free server and submit a shared, public link that anyone can access. We'll check out your file and hopefully find a fix.
  4. Indeed. Save Project Files AS regularly, with a unique # or name so as not to overwrite prior saves. Don't use Save Project (no AS) as that will overwrite. Then you're protected and can return to the project by opening the VPJ file, which is usually stored in the same folder as the source files. What version? Update if possible.

  6. You're out ZERO bucks. There is a refund policy. https://www.nch.com.au/general/refund.html But that should not be necessary if you share your project so others can analyse the issues that you report. This is easy, can be private, and takes little time. Don't upload the export, just the project folder. Follow these instructions... 1. With your project on the timeline, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left. Click FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Specify a folder. Click SELECT FOLDER. 2. 7. Upgrade to the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. How long is the project and what is the resolution of the bulk of the files? What are the specs of your PC: GPU, CPU, RAM, free space on C:\? Issues an usually be solved by sharing a project, so others can see what you see. It's easy, can be private and takes but a few minutes. Just follow these instructions. Don't upload the export, just the project folder... 1. With your project on the timeline, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left. Click FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Specify a folder. Click SELECT FOLDER. 2. Using the PC file manager, go to where the numbered folder was saved and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* 3. 8. Usually Smart Max does a nice job, but if there's jumpiness, try exporting at a higher frame rate. A minimum of 16MB RAM isn't a bad idea for video editing. https://tinyurl.com/yyrwrswt There's also the proxy approach for large high-res files and lengthy projects (or break projects into segments/export/assemble later). See the 'sticky' at the head of this forum. https://tinyurl.com/y4r2jyn4 VP undergoes constant improvement. Work is underway to maximize GPU utilization, which should help speed effect rendering.
  9. Clearing Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS | DISK tab, prior to starting a new project is wise. What's the length of the project and the resolution of the bulk of the source files? Install the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. More RAM might help as video editing is resource intensive. Close other programs. If you share your project, folks here can spot problems and compare load times. This is an easy 4-step process. Don't submit the export, just the project... 1. With your project on the timeline, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left. Click FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Specify a folder. Click SELECT FOLDER. 2. Using the PC file manager, go to where the numbered folder was saved and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* 3. 10. If the trial period has expired, AVI usually succeeds for export. Certain effects and features may not be available in the non-licensed version.
  11. 392 was the resulting file size when the mp4 export was at 25fps (PAL).
  12. User. VPJ files tell the program where to find source files and what to do with them, they are not playable. Save Project Files AS routinely, giving them a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite earlier saves. Using Save Project or Save Project Files will overwrite. Then, just by double-clicking the VPJ, the project can be restored to the state it was in when the file was saved. Do not delete or move source files.
  13. Estimates are historically inaccurate. Can't test MAC exports here, but the Windows 10, VP version 8.65 (beta) mp4/H264/45 fps result is 412MB. PAL was 392. As suggested by janusz_wol, try lower quality/bitrates to see if they sacrifice too much quality. Here, low and medium quality PAL came in at 82MB and 190 respectively. Considering that the source wasn't HD, the medium rate looks quite acceptable here ... but that's a subjective judgment.
  14. Move the clips to a folder on the PC, then load them in the Videopad bin (top-left). Clips in the bin can be trimmed by using the SET START | SET END buttons under the preview window. Then use the ADD button to move the clip to the timeline. Or build the sequence by dragging those clips to the timeline or right-click on one and use a PLACE choice from the drop-down menu. Don't delete or move the source clips or VP won't know where to find them. During editing, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # and name, so as to not overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project will overwrite. If you make a mistake during editing immediately press <ctrl-Z> to backtrack, step-by-step. Same as EDIT | UNDO.
  15. Mp4 export using H264 defaults (including suggested frame rate) in Windows produced a file of 264 to 410MB on several runs. The PAL (25fps) export was 390. Mp4 export using the MPEG4 compressor chalked up 249. AVI export using MPEG4 resulted in 266. Each test used version 8.63 at1280 x 720. Output quality was consistent with the source files.
  16. Please upload the sequence that has the issue. Not the export, just the project folder. Here's how... 1. Load the sequence onto the timeline. Click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left. Choose FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Specify a folder. Click SELECT FOLDER. 2. Using the PC file manager, go to where the numbered folder was saved and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* 3. Get a shared, public link that anyone can view. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. 17. Have never seen that reported. What version of Videopad is being used? Here is the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.

  19. Sorry. Hints at a machine-specific issue. Don't have a Mac here. https://tinyurl.com/r89tpcw
  20. There's no limit. Video editing is resource intensive: what are your PC's specs? Submit a sample that exhibits the pixelation and we'll check it out. Upload to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shareable, public link that anyone can access and copy it. Paste the link here or privately, via the Personal Messenger. 21. Hummm indeed. Seems something on your Mac is blocking it. Two versions to try... http://www.oldversiondownload.com/oldversions/videopad-8-40-2020-05-14(intel).zip http://www.oldversiondownload.com/oldversions/videopad-8-60-2020-07-11(intel).zip
  22. That option doesn't appear is the export drop-down, but you might try HIGH quality or one of the higher bitrates. Auto-match is but a suggestion based upon project content.
  23. A few suggestions... Back up using Save Project File AS, not Save Project File, and give each a unique # or name, to avoid overwriting prior saves. That way a VPJ control file (not payable) can be double-clicked to load the project as it looked when the file was saved. As a further protective measure also consider breaking the project into segments and exporting each. Later, if need be, load the segments and export the entire project.
  24. It's never easy is it? Drop by again if troubles persist. How long is the project and what is the resolution of the bulk of the files?
  25. Download and install a second time. Perhaps something is corrupted??
