  1. Upload and share the PORTABLE project, so someone can check it out. http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. It won't be passed on or retained. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to get a shareable, public link - not one that is restricted.
  2. https://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html See "registration code recovery." Consider updating as well. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file.
  3. It's best to begin a new topic with a descriptive subject. This one is several years old. A single text box can be added to the timeline numerous times. Open the text editor on the desired clip to be changed... Swipe the letters desired, then choose a new color in the font color box. Clip one ... Clip two ... There are no optional or supplemental title effects, AFAIK, but size, outline, shadow, font can be adjusted in the text editor.
  4. Features and improvements are routinely added. An update from the 6.x or 7.x series might be well worth it. The mail wasn't nefarious, just marketing. Avoid 8.56. It's successor will appear shortly. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  5. It may prove helpful if folks can view your result. Please upload it to a free server, share it (make it public/unrestricted) and post the shared link here What version of Videopad is being used?
  6. When a project is saved, the VPJ file contains pointers to the source files. Apparently something changed, as VP can no longer find them. You might COPY the VPJ to the same folder as the source files. Or copy the files to the VPJ folder. That succeeded in a simple case here, where a file had been deleted. Once resolved, SAVE PROJECT FILE AS, giving it a unique # or name, so as to not overwrite a prior save that might one day be needed.
  7. Give it another go. Responds "file does not exist." Be sure to make it public/shared without restrictions.
  8. 8.56 is the current release, but it has some audio issues (not necessarily yours) so 8.45 is recommended. A new release will be along shortly. Check back in a day or so.
  9. Fine. We'll take a look and find a solution. What version of Videopad is being used?
  10. Is the volume slider to the left of the track fully to the right? Is the track muted at the left with a red X through the speaker icon? Is the clip muted? Right-click on its audio track to check. Are you using version 8.56? If so, install this one instead. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If still a problem please share your project. Follow the instructions here to upload a PORTABLE project (not the export). Be sure to share it (make it public), non-restricted... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. It won't be passed on or retained. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT. Someone here will check things out.
  11. Click the link above and enter your info.
  12. Not totally clear on your intent. Here's an approach for a title that is to be superimposed in various projects... Create your title, then click the chevron to the right of the TEMPLATES icon on the Home menu toolbar. Save Project As Template. When it's to be used later click the TEMPLATES icon. In the window that pops up, select your template and Apply Template. It opens in a new sequence. Right-click | COPY it, then click your active project Sequence tab. Position the cursor at the location where you want the title to appear, right-click and Paste Overlay. The title is superimposed over the lower tracks.
  13. What version of Videopad is being used? Install this one and see if there's a change. If not, report back. Track two would be the overlay; with track 1 as the background. Higher numbered tracks override lower numbered tracks. Ideally, the source and export resolutions should closely match. If not, odd things can occur.
  14. Totally split here, no bleed from channel to channel, per the file linked just above. If you don't hear it that way then your player is combining the tracks. Install version 8.45 With true stereo, a far-left pan will play only the left channel; a far-right pan, the right channel. These files were both mono, so you're hearing all the content when panning. 8.56 has some audio issues. Perhaps that is a factor here.
  15. Routinely SAVE PROJECT AS, giving it a unique # or name, so as to not overwrite earlier saves. That way, your project is protected. To see the AS choice, click the chevron to the right of the SAVE PROJECT icon on the toolbar or click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu at the top left, then click FILE | SAVE PROJECT FILE AS. Don't use SAVE PROJECT FILE (no AS) as this will overwrite the earlier file. If you make a mistake in the course of editing, press <ctrl-Z> to backtrack, step by step. (Same as EDIT | UNDO). To REdo, press <ctrl-Y> (Same as EDIT | REDO)
  16. Don't know what you're hearing there, but it's fine here - split, with one track left and the other right.
  17. Two-channel doesn't necessarily mean that content is discrete stereo. It can be confusing. In this case the MONO audio file needs to be converted in Wavepad (or other utility) as described above.
  18. Upload the two files and someone will check them out. Use Dropbox, Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc. They're free. Get a shareable, non-restricted, public link and post it here or to a private message (folder at top-right of the forum window).
  19. If a MONO file is left or right channel only, then that's precisely the way VP will play them. Sliders stay centered. -0-0- If the sources are stereo then you can pan one track's slider to the left and the other to the right and they will not mix. -0-0- If both sources are single-channel centered MONO you will need to convert them to two-channel centered MONO. However, if one source is stereo, this should not be necessary. For example: a stereo vid/aud file on one track and a single-channel MONO audio file on the other. In that case the sliders should be effective for both sources.. Should conversion be needed, use Wavepad. The trial is free. Load a file, click the MONO button at the bottom of the screen, click the chevron at the right of the box that appears, click STEREO, click the X to exit. Now locate the saved file on your PC, import it into Videopad,. Before replacing the original video file's audio, UNlink audio and video via a right-click on the audio track - -and replace the audio with the file saved by Wavepad. Then adjust the sliders far left and right. -0-0- If you attempt to load a video file into Wavepad it will prompt to continue as audio only. Say yes. Then, per the above procedure, save the audio only file in the format of your choice.
  20. Hard to say. Considerable caching improvements have been made since that version. Test v8.45 as a trial and see how it performs on that project. Of course, first SAVE PROJECT FILE AS, giving it a unique # or name, so as to not overwrite earlier saves. And retain your 7.11 installer and licensing info. https://www.nch.com.au/upgrade/ For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.
  21. "My audio" can be changed to any title you wish. The SAVE TO folder applies only to the narration WAV clip, and it succeeded here when the VIDEO folder was specified. There are no restrictions. If it balks something is amiss. Try a reinstall, or update to this version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  22. Thanks for sharing your project. Looked good. Several clips were not used so you might avoid loading them. Audio track 1 seemed low in gain, but that's a subjective judgment. Applied an effect to the final ten minute clip as a test; re-caching took a minute or so. Various shorter-clip effects completed in seconds while CPU/GPU averaged 20/15%. Your project contains few effects/trans so proxy editing likely isn't worth the effort. Results should be comparable as our PC specs are very similar, but for 32GB RAM here, which doesn't hurt. Advise not loading this project into VP version 8.56. 8.45 is fine, and there will be a new release coming soon.
  23. Use the CENSOR blur effect. In the preview window, drag the box or its handles to the sizing and position desired.
  24. At the basic level clips are added side-by-side on the same track. When played, the result is a cut between them, or transitions can be programmed. Higher numbered tracks take precedence over lower, so if video is added to track 2 it will cover track one. Reduce the size of the track 2 video, using an effect like SCALE or POSITION, and track 1 will be seen behind track 2. Picture-in-picture. Splitting can be accomplished in a number of ways. If the clip is in the top-left BIN, drag the red-lined cursor in the preview window to the start point and click SET START. Then drag to the end point and click SET END. Position the sequence timeline cursor where you want the clip to go and click the ADD button. Or, if the clip is already on the sequence, set the cursor to where you want to begin the clip and click SPLIT. Do the same for where it's to end. Then delete the unwanted parts. Clips can be dragged, so that they butt up against one another. Another way to remove gaps between clips is to right-click | CLOSE GAP. Check out the VP tutorials.
