  1. What version of VP is being used? Here's the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. The export text overlay should appear precisely at the same spot it was placed on the timeline. If not, please share a project with the issue. This is easy, quick and can be private. Here are the step-by-step instructions... With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Locate the saved, numbered folder, NOT the exported or VPJ file. Upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* Get a shared, public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Then click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum and privately message it to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  2. Seems to be working okay. Zero feathering at the left, 100% at the right. (Mask was crudely drawn.) Feathering parameter is used to apply a "soft edge" or alpha channel blur to the foreground image.
  3. Is it out of sync on the timeline or just when exported? What are your export settings? Please submit a project that has the issue, and someone will check it out. This is easy, quick and can be private. Just follow these instructions step-by-step... 4. If your intent is correctly understood, yes, create the scaled, positioned face first so that it fits the ball precisely over the entirety of the action. Then animate the face mask to track it. http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/effects_animating.html Nat's solution, below, is a better approach.
  5. When a project is saved a non-playable VPJ control file is created. It tells the program what to do and where to find files. Locate that file, right-click on it and CREATE SHORTCUT, which can be moved or copied to any folder including Desktop.
  6. Re-ran the full project at 1080 in versions 8.91 and 8.96 and indeed, some exported elements are missing, but good in version 8.45, which has been very stable. Consider sticking with that release for this project. The issue is being addressed.
  7. First report of this behavior. There's no provision in VP for changing export audio gain. Make certain that level settings for the player/viewer are correct. Share your project and someone will check it out. This is easy, quick and can be private. Just carefully follow these steps... 8. Here is the latest. If the issue persists, come back here and someone will get to the bottom of it.
  9. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. Re-registration won't be needed. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Your purchased installer should be here: "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad" or similar path without the (x86). If not, use Dangerfreak's link, above. Ignore any virus prompts. Normally, before installing a newer version, if it's been more than six-months since purchase there will be a warning prompt that your registration will no longer be valid. There's no mandate to upgrade. Stick with what works for you. It's wise to export with a version released close in time to the one that created the project. Any unlicensed version can be test-driven, to see if there are new features, or quirks. Some features may be disabled.
  10. We'll take a look. But you must upload the back-up FOLDER, as instructed above, not simply the VPJ file. That folder will contain all source material + the VPJ. Be sure to make it "anyone with link can view." What version of Videopad is being used?
  11. The various versions - HOME, TRIAL - are essentially the same program - with specific features enabled/disabled. The Masters (Professional) edition is full featured. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. There is no mandate to upgrade, though there may be prompts. Generally it's best to stick with what works for you and export with the version - or a close relative - to the one that creates a project. You can always test drive newer, unlicensed releases, to see if they offer additional features ... or present any glitches.
  12. That is generally correct. However, there may be occasions when a feature that you want to use requires files or a component to be installed, such as when accessing Clip Art or Stock Sounds. In that case a connection is required.
  13. The stub installer, which quickly downloads from the Net, runs about 3MB. The 32-bit program runs locally on a 32- or 64-bit PC. Ample caching space is the main concern for disk size, and an SSD is recommended. Caching options include... Cache Cache folder - Specify a drive and folder where you want to store cached data. (The C:\ drive default is normally fine.) Clear Unused Cache Files - Press this button to delete all cache files which are currently not in use. Warn me when free disk space goes below (MB)
  14. What version of Videopad is being used? For your Skype video, try adding the Aspect Ratio Letterbox effect. In the drop-down box, choose 9:16. If that doesn't do the job, please post a link to the project. Someone will check it out. This is easy, quick and can be private. Just follow these steps... Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  15. Let's take a look at the file that doesn't display. Please upload it to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a public (shareable) link, copy the link and paste it here. Someone will check it out.
  16. Tried Prism? https://www.nchsoftware.com/prism/index.html
  17. The GoPro file plays and exports just fine here in 8.96, so cannot replicate the issue. Try a reinstall. Also be certain that your video drivers and Direct-X are up-to date... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html
  18. You uploaded only the VPJ control file, a single jpg and the Butler 2.wmv, which is corrupt. Content of that file is 1:22:00, but its length is listed as 22 HOURS, 15 minutes, which is likely the cause of the sound processing issue. It also isn't color locked, displaying purple and green horizontal bars throughout. This has nothing to do with VP, and may have occurred during VHS transfer. The audio issue should be fixed shortly, though the original take a long time to load due to its 22 hour length. A test in version 8.97+ succeeded.
  19. Take a minute to share the project, either here or in private. Someone will check it out and, likely, suggest a quick fix. Just follow these steps...
  20. Please see the above answer. Upgrades are not mandatory. If your licensed version is doing the job for you, stick with it. It will continue to work. NCH test/trial policy is generous. Most features are available, at least during the trial period, and exports have no watermark, unlike some other editors.
  21. When a free stock audio file is downloaded (click the button) it appears under the audio tab in Videopad. It's also stored in this path... "C:\Users\<PCname>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Stock\Audio\" From there the file can be copied, moved, played with any media utility.
  22. Of course. ADD any legit sound file - mp3, wav, wma, etc. - and it will pop up under the Audio tab in the bin. Double-click to preview it there, or drop it onto the timeline.
  23. Upgrades are free for up to six months after the purchase of a license. But you're not stuck. Reinstall your purchased version and, if necessary, re-register with your code. It will continue to work as always. The installer is normally saved to this PC path... "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad" (or a similar path without the (x86). If you cannot find it there, download it from here. Ignore virus prompts. ANY VP version can be test driven without a license, but features will be limited.
