  1. As Nat suggests, click the FX button on the audio track for the clip and choose AMPLIFY to increase the volume of the clip.
  2. That setting affects images added to the bin. To change length of clips already in the bin input the desired duration in the box under the preview window.
  3. Under OPTIONS | DISK tab, Clear Unused Cache Files. Reboot. Update to the latest release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If still no joy, share your project. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  4. Update to the latest release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Upload the odd file to a free server, such as MS OneDrive or Google Drive, get a shareable (pubic) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message, via the envelope at the top-right of this forum. We'll take a look. If using Google, be sure that "restricted" is changed to "anyone with link can view."
  5. There is no update mandate, especially if it's to a beta like the 9.07 you are using. As the warning states: These beta-prerelease versions have not completed testing and may have bugs, crash or otherwise malfunction. Use them at your own risk. They are provided strictly as-is. Report issues here. Install this and the green should vanish. Newer versions can always be test driven, to check out features - and quirks. Suggest waiting until they have proven to be solid. Release 8.45 is very stable.
  6. An NCH FAQ states... "Can I move the software or reinstall the software in future? Within reason - yes. As long as the software does not continue to run on the old computer you can install the software on a new computer. As a piracy control measure we do limit the number of installations to 2 times in any 12 month period. Note: we do run an anti-piracy system which can detect multiple installs. But as long as the software (with one serial number) runs on one PC at any one time, you will not have problems." For registration issues see... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10053.html https://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html
  7. Absolutely. Your licensed version does not expire. The installer for it is usually found in this path on your PC... "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad" or a similar path without the (x86). If it's not there you should be able to register any version that was released within the six-month grace period. Download here. There's no mandate to update, but you can always test drive the latest, unlicensed, to check out new features or quirks.
  8. To what version did you update? Look at the start screen or at the bottom-left of the Videopad window. Prior to editing a new project, click OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Install this version. If the issue persists, come back here after uploading one of the files to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive. Get a shared (public) link, copy it and paste it here. Someone will take a look. If using Google it may be necessary to change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view." There's never a mandate to update, if the version in use is doing the job. And updating is not automatic. Newer releases can always be test driven, unlicensed, to check out new features and quirks. Just retain your installer and registration info.
  9. Glad it worked out. 8.97 is currently being offered on the server. 9.0x needs more work. Come back here if other issues arise.
  10. Higher tracks take precedence, so a background will typically be on track 1 and the overlay on track 2. If an image is a .png with transparent background overlaid atop another image, then the other image will be seen in the transparent area. If an image is high contrast, then chromakey (green screen effect) can key out a background color, which cannot be contained in the image, or it too will vanish. The dice are a .png file with transparent background on track 2 that was overlaid on a track 1 colored, gradient background. The gal on track 2, shot in front of a green screen, is wearing no green. Chromakey was utilized to key out the green, replacing it with the track 1 bars.
  11. What version of Videopad? What is the resolution of the bulk of your source files? How long is the project? Update to this version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If no change, please share your project. Upload --- Upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Click COPY LINK | DONE. Share --- Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  12. What version is being used? There's no mandate to update, especially if the release in use is doing the job. Newer versions can always be test driven unlicensed to see what's new or quirky. Retain your installer and licensing info. Suggest installing this version for the time being.
  13. A 64-bit version is being developed, with no firm target date published. Improvements in GPU usage have been made in the version you are using but it's not fully tweaked. Use this one instead, and please report back whether 'encoding' (export?) time improves.
  14. Have to see that file. Please upload it, and someone will check it out. Files are cached only in the path specified under OPTIONS | DISK tab so, no, it doesn't make sense. As Nat's queries... "What format is it? Does it play OK in a separate player like VLC?"
  15. True, about your second link - no "and." Some noise. Can't say why. The first link was used to make the in-sync version. Your steps were correct. Expanding the timeline with the slide at the right-bottom can help with precision. No need to re-link audio. If you find that necessary, select audio and video tracks and Group them. Snapping on a re-link is correct. To avoid it on UNlinked A/V, lock the track that is not to be disturbed via a right-click in the area to the left of the track. There is no mandate to change versions if what you have is working for you. 9.04 has its issues, but you may not encounter them. The release linked above will work fine. Your original ZOOM recording loads into VP 9.04 in sync - no audio offset.
  16. If mp4 export isn't available in the 'free' version, AVI usually succeeds. Reloading the program is often all that's needed. You may be trying to play the VPJ file that saves instructions on where to locate the source files and how to handle transitions and effects. That file is not playable. Nothing will be lost if the VPJ was saved (the program prompts for that if editing has been done). But it's always wise to Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. With Videopad installed, double-clicking the VPJ should open your project in Videopad for further editing or exporting as long as you have not moved or deleted the source files. Or you can launch Videopad, then click Menu (upper-left), FILE | OPEN PROJECT and locate your VPJ project file. Normally the VPJ file is in the same folder as the source files, but you may have to search for it. If necessary, search for "autosave.vpj." That's the protection file that Videopad saves in case of a crash. Drop in again here if these measures do not succeed.
  17. Humm... definitely out. It would be more enlightening to see the original ZOOM video, prior to loading it into Videopad. Please upload it. The beginning "and" is not cut off here, in either version, even after export. No extraneous noise is evident beyond typical ZOOM low-fi. If using version 9.04, install this version instead.
  18. Update to the latest release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Please upload "Everybody" or a few clips that exhibit the issue to a free server, such as MS OneDrive or Google Drive, get a shareable (pubic) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message, via the envelope at the top-right of this forum. We'll take a look. If using Google, be sure that "restricted" is changed to "anyone with link can view."
  19. If you can locate a green screen twinkle effect, or one with a black background that can be keyed out it could result in something like this rough demo. PDX_twinkle.wmv
  20. Wouldn't think that deleting "User File History" would affect this. Clear Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS | DISK tab prior to starting a new project. During editing, files from other project can also be cleared in that manner.

    VideoPad v9.04

  24. The timeline will continue to show your project edits, even after export, until you close the project and relaunch Videopad, or manually delete all content. While editing, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. To Clear Unused Cache Files click the Menu item at the top-left, then TOOLS | OPTIONS. In the window that pops up, click the DISK tab. Do this before starting a new project. Nothing of the old will be left behind.

After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Does this occur on the timeline during editing, or only after exporting the project? If the issue persists... Share your project. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix.
