  1. Could be the media? Try a DVD-RW if possible. 9.07 is beta - already superseded. Suggest using the release currently on the server. You might also try Express Burn.
  2. Good point. Intuitively, clicking ADD should create a new ST immediately following the prior one, without the need to manually jump to the end. If a gap is desired, then manually override. Might be worth a suggestion...
  3. This is how subtitles look here. Don't recall seeing the "step-back" behavior. The method used is to type a subtitle, click GO TO END button on the toolbar, click ADD. Then type another, and so on...
  4. Dealt with via Personal Messager. An unnecessary aspect ratio had been applied to one clip.
  5. MATCH MONITOR displays at your monitor's resolution. So if you export at the same, it should give a fair representation of the final product. Check out this thread... https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/28407-aspect-ratio-again/
  6. Share the project that has the borders and someone will check it out. It's easy, quick and can be private. Just follow these steps carefully... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  7. Try this... On a sequence clip that has the black border, click the FX button. Apply the Letterbox Aspect Ratio Transforms effect. Any better?
  8. Here, it simply prompts to log in to the Google account. Then it prompts to link Videopad to that account. Nothing more. Try logging into Google prior to exporting.
  9. Burned your ISO DVD image, made with Videopad, to a DVD-RW and it played just fine on the Samsung BR/DVD machine. What version of VP is being used? Suggest updating to 8.97. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  10. 8.97 upper-right ? and other buttons launch WEB pages, so Net access is needed. <ctrl-F> on the HELP page will help you find topics. The box is at the lower-left. An export to YouTube should prompt to log on to your Google account. Once done, authorize Videopad to be linked. Smooth sailing thereafter.

    MP4 Size

File size estimates are notoriously inaccurate. Click the chevron at the top-right of the VP window and file a suggestion or bug. To lower file sizes at export, try lower resolutions and/or frame rates, and different compressors, such as MPEG4 in lieu of H264.
  12. When an A/V clip is dropped from the bin to the timeline, new audio and video tracks are created. In this illustration, <ctrl-W> was used to add three videos. Each clip creates a single, stereo, audio track - not two tracks for left/right. This seems normal. Is something being overlooked here? Record_2020_12_31_09_11_14_24.mp4
  13. Not seeing this in version 8.97?? Created four titles and moved all to the upper right. Then returned to the text window and added another. No position change.
  14. No title guideline. It was slightly shortened. For search purposes it helps to have a brief, descriptive title and perhaps keywords. Makes it easier to spot threads of interest. Unless citing specifics, for context - say from an earlier post buried in a long thread - there's no need to quote. Stop by anytime.
  15. Before loading a new project Clear Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS | DISK tab. Someone will come up with an answer if you take a minute to share an mp4 file or two that does this. Just upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. Using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  16. Should you run into export irregularities when a global speed change has been made on numerous clips, try this... Prior to applying the speed change, click the + sign on the Sequence 1 tab, to open a new blank sequence. Click the SEQUENCES tab in the bin (upper-left). Right-click on Sequence 1 and PLACE ON SEQUENCE AT START. This becomes a single clip. Add the speed change, then export Sequence 2. Chances are you won't have to do this, but it's an alternative.
  17. The Playback Speed Change control under the preview window affects only timeline playback speed. Select the clips to be speed changed, right-click on one of them, click CHANGE CLIP SPEED, and input 300%. Changes made there will export, though the speed you hear during 1x preview may not match what was heard when using playback 3x. Adjust to taste.
  18. The process has worked well here. What version of Videopad is being used? Suggest burning a DVD-RW disk (rewritable) first, so there's no waste. Share your project and someone will give it a test. This is easy, quick and can be private. 19. After it was explained to me what to look for, the Interlace effect does appear to be functioning as intended, using odd lines from the first frame to interlace with the even lines from the next frame. Results are subtle and can be seen in the fast movement areas of the video.
  20. Select the ones you want to change. Right-click on any one of them. Change Clip Speed, and input the desired length. That will change them all.

    Large files

Begin a new project by Clearing Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS | DISK tab. A 1GB should be no problem, but more specifics are needed. What is the length of the project? What is the file type of the specific file/s? What version of the program is being used? Install this one. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. As for back up, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. Then you're protected. If the problem persists, please share your project. Someone will likely come up with a fix. This is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If shown as "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view." Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

    VideoPad v9.04

9.04 is a beta that was inadvertently on the server for a short time. It, and closely dated releases, have GPU usage improvements not yet fully optimized. It was replaced by 8.97. Newer versions can always be test driven, to check out features - and quirks. Suggest waiting until they have proven to be stable. That's not to say that they are totally flawless, but past releases 8.45 and 8.91 have been good performers. They are available here. As the beta warning states: Prerelease versions have not completed testing and may have bugs, crash or otherwise malfunction. Use them at your own risk. They are provided strictly as-is. Report issues here.
  23. Input the registration info and you should be directed to the activation site - for the code.
  24. What does it look like when exported at various frame rates? Take a minute to share a file that does this and someone here will check it out. Just upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum.
  25. You are clicking on the VIDEO FX. Click the one on the Audio track.
