    Combine Clips?

You can also try FIle->Import Clip From Another Project, which will put all the clips from the other project into a new Sequence. You can switch to different Sequence by clicking on the tab above the time line. Therefore you can edit a Sequence at anytime even if it's in another Sequence.

    Combine Clips?

You can combine clips into one by putting them into a separated Sequence. Sequence will be treated as a single clip in another sequence. So it works like grouping.
  4. This is a known issue. Our team had considered it before but we decided not to do anything for the moment since very few user requests. If anyone else think this is an interesting feature please reply to this post. We'll review this feature if other users also interested in it.
  5. Could you please try rotate them to landscape in windows explorer and then import them into VideoPad?
  6. If you have problem finding and deleting component file. Please follow these steps: Right click on your desktop, select New->Text document. Ignore the file name for now by clicking away. Double click on it and open Notepad. Copy the two lines below into Notepad: Save the file and exit Notepad. Rename the file to "1.bat" (or whatever file name you want, just have to be .bat). Right click on the .bat file and select Run as administrator (you need to logged in as administrator). Hope this helps.
  7. The rotation came from the image file. You should see the orientation of the images are same as in Windows Explorer. I've found Windows Photo Viewer is handy for rotating images. You can use it to rotate the images before import them into VideoPad.
  8. It is possible that some component files are corrupted or outdated for some reason. Component files (e.g. codecs) are downloaded on demand. They do not being reinstall when you reinstall VideoPad. Please try delete all the component files. After they are removed from your local disk, they will be automatically downloaded/installed next time you use the functionalities in VideoPad. At the moment you have to find and delete the files manually. They can be found in two folders: C:\Program Files\NCH Software\Components C:\Users\[user Name]\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components Please note that AppData folder is hidden by default. Component files are shared by all NCH products. You can safely delete all files in the component folders as they will be re-installed on demand.
  9. Update: This issue has been fixed and will applied to next release. No windows update required for new releases. The issue effects all the old versions up to v4.08.
  10. Since you reported the bug, we'll offer you a full license for the new release when it come out (under testing now).
  11. Do you mean there is no audio track imported at all (not just playback)? Please try clean up your hard disk and make more empty space. VideoPad need more space for handling bigger clips. If that doesn't work please post here and we'll try something else.
  12. Copy/Paste effects could be a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion!
  13. Yes, Apply To All definitely need more works. We should see the effect dialog and should be able to preview any selected clip when applying to multiple clips. The effects are applied with the default parameters, which is 100% in case of scaling and has no effects. This behavior simply wrong and make it useless. Thanks for bringing it up.
  14. A recent Windows security update (3045171) has introduced a bug and cause VideoPad crash randomly. The bug is triggered by using text clips and subtitles. It effects Window 7 Service Pack 1 and earlier version of Windows. Microsoft has issued a fix for the problem. If you have turned on Windows Automatic Update, you can find the patch in: Control Panel->System and Security->Windows Update->Show all available updates->Optional->KB3065979. Note that it's an optional update and will not installed automatically. You can also download the fix from here: : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3065979 Best regards,
  15. For urgent projects please try fallback to v4.00 - this bug effects v4.05 and v4.08. If you installed v4.00 before, you can find videopadsetup_v4.00.exe in your application folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\NCH Software\VideoPad on windows 7). If you can't find the setup file or bought if after v4.00, please contact our support team to get one. We are doing our best to check and fix any issue we find before the release. We'll try to release VP next week. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
  16. @smiller: This could caused by a bug we just found and fixed: http://nch.invisionzone.com/index.php?/topic/22419-exported-video-has-consistent-freezes/ http://nch.invisionzone.com/index.php?/topic/22385-video-freezes-periodically-for-5-to-10-seconds/ We are pushing out a new release - have to wait until it pass all the testings.
  17. You can right click on the preview window (sequence or clip preview) and choose the current frame as thumbnail. The thumbnail only works in VideoPad. Thumbnails are normally not come with the video and depends on the application to choose a frame as thumbnail.
  18. Hi Nat, Thanks for the suggestion. I used VP to make slideshow myself too and I have the exactly same feeling. We are working on how to present the feature to the user though. Cheers,
  19. This problem has been fixed: http://nch.invisionzone.com/index.php?/topic/22419-exported-video-has-consistent-freezes/ We are sorry for the inconvenience. Our support team will provide free upgrade for everyone reported the bug when the new release come out (in a few days).
  20. Thank you very much for sharing the files! We've identified and fixed the bug. Your project is now rendered without any freeze. We are making a new version release as soon as we can (it will take a few days). Our support team will contact you and provide free upgrade/license for the new version. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  21. Hi Nat, I've confirmed and filed a bug for sound track is missing when adding a Sequence to another Sequence. I could not reproduce the Export Video button bug. Screenshot please. Also, I'm not quite following the Sequence icons issue. Could you please also provide screenshot? Update: We'll disable "unlink" option when showing the sound track of a sequence (on another sequence). This would simplify the implementation (means less bug and run faster). I don't see much point to unlink the sound track from a sequence clip. Thanks,
  22. Yes, I need the project file (.vpj file). It would be good if you can also provide the video/sound files. I'll PM you my email address, you can sent the DropBox link or small files via email. Thank you!
  23. We are getting similar report from the other post: http://nch.invisionzone.com/index.php?/topic/22385-video-freezes-periodically-for-5-to-10-seconds/ We need to reproduce it in order to fix the problem. It would be very helpful if you can share the project files to us (via DropBox or other file sharing service).
  24. That's a good question. Yes, I believe effects/transitions are applied to the cache instead of the original video - I don't see any reason not to. I need to confirm this with the other devs though. In that case, reduce the preview size would speed up caching noticeably if effects/transitions are applied.
  25. Can anyone have this problem please share the project file(.vpj file) via DropBox(or any other file sharing service)? PM me if you want to sent me the .vpj file via email. Although it would be better also sharing the media files, it seems this is a problem with text clip/subtitle so media files might not needed for reproducing the problem. Thanks,
