  1. Hi, The ability to save a chain of effects as a preset already on our to-do list. Best regards.
  2. Hi, I've reproduce what Nat has describe about the "Show" button in subtitle dialog. Then I tried export to DVD, subtitles are in the DVD no matter "Show" button is pressed or not. In fact, VdieoPad renders subtitles onto the video frame as images - you don't need a player that support subtitles and you can't even turn it off. I think that's why the "Show" button is there, which allow you to save subtitles into a dedicated subtitle file without render them on the video. So the bug here is the "Show" button doesn't effect the Sequence. @Sarumboy: As I mentioned above, text images are rendered onto the video. It doesn't matter if output to DVD or a video file. If you export the video to a mp4 or avi file I would expect the same result. Please try the least version (v4.00). If the problem still exists we'll have to examine your project files to find out the reason. Please try reproduce the problem on a smaller project so it can be easily uploaded. You can upload and share your project on Drop Box, Google Drive or similar services. Best regards.
  3. I've noticed that was v3.74. Could you please try on the latest version (v4.00)?
  4. Hi Nat, VideoPad handles some media formats indirectly. They are converted to avi files. The files are normally in Libraries\Videos. If you add a gif file to the media list, it will be always be treated as a video file. To construct a video from image sequences please use File->Add Image Sequence as Video. Best.
  5. Hi, We just added fade in feature and it will be released with the next version. For now, you can try add an empty text clip in front of that clip in order to get the fade transition. Best regards.
  6. Sorry Nat, I can't make a promise at the moment. There will be big changes so we are still considering how many users want it. Best regards.
  7. Hi Nat, I think "Tint" effect in VideoPad equivalent to applying color filters. Assuming the glasses is red on the left, cyan on the right. What we need to do is apply a red filter to the left video and apply a cyan filter to the right video. Then you need the layer effect "Add" to combine the videos together. VideoPad currently didn't support layer effects. I've filed a suggestion for it. You can try it on still images in a image editing package see if it works. Best regards.
  8. Hi Daorus, Thanks for the explanation. I see your point. VideoPad is designed as an flexible editing tool and has very wide range of users. Although professional presets are good things to have, we still need custom presets. Effects are broken down to basic level to allow customization. I'll file another suggestion for layer effects. Best regards.
  9. Hi, There were many bugs fixed since v3.35. We release bug fixes with newer version. Please try out the latest version (v4.00) and let me know if the problem still exist. Best regards.
  10. Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, it would be a good idea to save effect chains as presets. For your video: After applied the effects Nat suggested, try apply a "Vignette" effect?
  11. That make sense. "Could not initialize video output" indicates one of the system component is failed. Try update your DirectX might solve the problem.
  12. Do you mean exporting to MP4 instead of WMV? Or you mean you converted the clips in the project from WMV to MP4?
  13. Thanks for the suggestion, I've filed it to our team. Best regards.
  14. Latest German version v4.02 is released. Best regards.
  15. Yes, I can see that. I suspect some invisible transitions caused the problem. The transitions in 3D catalog require GPU to work. They might not supported by the driver/hardware. If you are not sure please upload the .vpj file so I can have a look.
  16. If there is a transition at 0:16. If the right clip is start from 0, the left of the transition will always use the first frame of the right clip. If this is the case, try set the in point of the right clip to half of the transition duration. The duration before in point can be used by the left side of the transition. I didn't see any transition at 0:16 though. If shifting the in point does not solve the problem, please upload the .vpj file with the media files to DropBox. You can try to delete all the clips before and after the problem section to make the upload file smaller (make sure the problem still there).
  17. Hi Ivan187, Could you please upload the project (including media files) and the exported Video on to DropBox? To upload the project: Open the project in VideoPad. Use File->BackupProjectFilesToFolder to copy all the files into a folder. Zip the folder into a single file and upload it.
  18. You welcome. If you still getting the crash, please let me know.
  19. Is it happening all the time? Unfortunately I can't reproduce the problem here. Could you describe the detail steps to make it happen? Thanks.
  20. Could you please tell me is the crash happen in 4.00? What's the Windows version?
  21. You can click on the time numbers to type them in. They will be highlighted when your mouse over them.
  22. Hi, You can create a new Sequence. Then add the existing Sequence into it so you can change the in/out point. The output quality and performance are the same as directly output the existing Sequence. Best regards.
  23. Black video issue is solved in this thread: http://nch.invisionzone.com/index.php?/topic/22163-no-video/

    No video?

Thanks for the help from Borate. We now know this issue is caused by the left over cache files from the old versions. To fix the problem you need to clear the cache: Restart VideoPad without open any file/project. Click on Options->Disk->Clear Unused Cache Files. Best regards.
  25. There is a way to install and run v2.41 on WIndows 8.1: In windows explorer, right click on the setup executable (e.g. videopadsetup_v2.41.exe), select Properties->Compatibility tab. In Compatibility mode, check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and then select Windows 7 at the pull down list below the check box. Run the exe now and VideoPad will be installed. You will need to also set the compatibility mode to windows 7 for videopad.exe too. It can be found at the application folder(C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad) . Best regards.
