    4.05 is up

Release Note: New: Text clip now support rich text. Options for change cropping and aspect ratio on Bin Clip right click menu (without effects). Added fade-in feature for clips. A new fade-in button has been added to clips on the time line. Batch editing which can apply the same effects to many clips in one go. Can be found on main menu File->Batch Video Editing. Can open projects from Windows Movie Maker 2012. Can now select preview resolution up to 1920x1080. Fixed: Preview and export videos with frame rate more then 30 FPS. Inaccurate time position after cutting a clip with variable frame rate. Panning was not working. Transparent issue for imported video clips. File replacement issue after stabilize. FaceBook uploading need more work so we leave the fix to next release. For now please export the videos to disk file and upload them manually. Best regards,
  2. We decided to postpone upcoming release due to the recent changes on FaceBook caused uploading to FaceBook no longer works. We've applied the fix but still waiting for approval from FaceBook (normally in 5-7 working days). Thanks everyone for your patience,
  3. We've recently tighten our requirement on quality testing. We are cleaning up issues as much as we can before release. I'm hoping to get it released this week. Thanks for your patience.
  4. I can't reproduce the exact problem. However I've found an issue related to speed change when following Nat's steps. The issue has been fixed but I'm not sure if it caused blank frames. Is it possible to upload a small blank frame project on DropBox or Google Drive? Please PM me the link if you can. Thanks,
  5. @SomePerson: Which version of VIdeoPad are you using? Have the clips start with a blank frame applied one or more effects? @Ivan187: If you get black frame again please share the project files to us and let us have a look. Best regards,
  6. This is a separated issue which effected by variable frame rate video source. Both issues are fixed in the upcoming version.
  7. I don't have a clue at the moment but lets try: 1. Open VideoPad without loading any project. From main tool bar, choose Options->Disk->Clear unused cache files. And then open your project see how it goes. 2. Try just export the project, maybe it is a preview only issue. 3. If everything above doesn't work, we have to examine your project file and all the associated clips. Please upload them to DropBox or Google Drive and PM me the link.
  8. Hi, Are you getting black screen after applied certain effect/transition? If so try remove the effect/transition. Are you getting black screen on preview or only on export? Best Regards,
  9. The new version is in testing now and will be released in a few days. Our sales representative will contact you and provide a free upgrade after the release.
  10. Hi, A common cause of black screen is lack of OpenGL support. Certain effects and transitions require OpenGL support. Please try update your video card driver see if the issue still exist. If the problem still exist please tell us more detail: VideoPad version Windows version Your computer spec. Which effects/transitions have been used? Are you also getting black screen on preview? Best regards,
  11. The bug is fixed and VideoPad now can import, edit and export 60fps clips properly. In order not to delay the current release, we've put VideoPad back to testing. Some issues that take more time will leftover and to be fixed in next release: Playback 60fps on preview is not smooth. Next/Previous frame still stepping at 0.04 second. Thanks everyone in this discussion for helping us found the issues.
  12. We now have cancelled the release testing and working on this issue. What we got so far is that we can get 30fps in the clip preview but only 25fps at the sequence preview. @mx1001: The sequence preview employed 25fps since the frame rate for export still unknown. I understand your concern for splitting. It could be a good idea to allow users change the sequence preview frame rate. Update: In fact the sequence preview frame rate will be whatever the clip is (can be variable) after this bug is fixed.
  13. Update: We've identified and fixed the issue.
  14. Hi, Thanks Nat for joining the discussion and clarify the issue. Sorry, my previous post was wrong. In fact, as I did more testing, I've found that VideoPad is not exporting 60fps at all (the clip exported was 30fps). This is a much more serious bug than I thought. I apologist for the mistake we've made and the inconvenient that caused. The latest version is in testing now and could be released any time soon. I'll try cancel the testing and fix this bug if it is not released tomorrow. Otherwise we'll fix this bug and make another urgent release ASAP. Please note that our company has a policy that whoever reported a bug or suggested a feature will get a free upgrade of the release which the bug is fixed or the feature is implemented. In fact, for each release, I've sent a list of forum users whom helped us on bugs or new features to our sale support team to issue free upgrade to them. Everyone in this discussion so far will receive free upgrade as well when the bug is fixed. @mx1001: Yes I aware of the reverse bug. Unfortunately we were not able to fix it in the upcoming release. We already put it on the top list after this release. Best regards,
  15. We are releasing a new version every month but sometimes varies. For a refund please start from here: http://www.nch.com.au/general/refund.html
  16. I've done the test and didn't find any 30fps restriction, preview and export are both in 60fps. But when you click "Next/Previous Frame" button on the preview panel, the cursor always step by 40ms. This's a known bug to be fixed. If you use the mouse drag the cursor you'll able to see every actual frame. Also, if you applied effect or transition, the effected sections will be previewed as 25fps. When you export, those sections will be re-processed under whatever frame rate you've chosen. Best regards,
  17. Hi, I've sent a notice to our sales support team. In fact you are able to contact them without paid. It's a matter of priority. Best regards,
  18. Hi, Yes, we'll try increase the limit. Not sure why it was 800% though (maybe some issues in sound processing). Best regards,
  19. This topic is in responds to the issue raised by Shoebill: http://nch.invisionz...c-after-export/ Hi Shoebill, I've investigated your project - A clip has been put in sequence with: In point at: 0:00:48.680 out point at: 0:00:48.755 The light turns on at 0:00:48.744 (64ms after in point) Now lets see the result in the sequence time line and sequence preview. The track on the time line was 75ms long, that's correct. The light didn't turn on during the 75 ms duration. If I extent the length of the track clip, the light actually turns on at 80ms. There is 16ms difference from the original clip (64ms). In fact, what we see in the time line and the sequence preview is exactly the same as the output result so we don't have to export to see the difference. We still investigating the cause of the 16ms difference. If anyone else here experienced the same issue please let us know. I'll post here once the issue is fully resolved. Best regards,
  20. Hi, Bugs can be report via this link: http://www.nch.com.au/software/bug.html Best regards,
  21. On Windows files are cached in memory by the OS. It would be similar to or even more efficient then using memory paging system.
  22. Hi, Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. The problem was that when the codec processing complex video frames with very high settings (i.e. high frame rate, high compress quality and a lot of noise in video frames), it require much more memory resource then usual. We'll allocate more memory for the codec in the next version and the issue should be fixed. Best regards,
  23. Hi, VideoPad use disk cache to make the editing smooth. When you just added a transition the disk cache will have to be regenerated. It will be jerky If you play the preview while disk cache still being generated. Wait for disk caching (indicated by the line on top of the tracks) finish and the performance will back to normal. Multi-core is not required but it will speed up disk caching a lot. Best regards,
  24. Crop effect is not animated. It was just to give you the idea what will be visible after export with "Crop Edge" option.
  25. In the case 25fps to 24fps, VideoPad will drop a frame for every 25 frames. Here is an example how the frames are dropped: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 1 2 3 5 6 7 9 Note that how step 4 and 8 is skipped in the second sequence.
