  1. There's no Mp4/H264 limitation here in WMP, which hints at the need for the necessary codec on your system. Tools exist to find the specific codec, but folks have had luck with a codec pack - perhaps overkill, with slight potential for codec conflicts, but generally effective. Suggest that you install the well thought of, widely used K-Lite basic codec pack. Click on the 'Mirror 1 or 2' links only.
  2. Likely caused by a missing codec for WMP, while VLC uses its own. Try exporting with MPEG encoding. Click the ENCODING button and make that choice. Try an AVI export, instead of Mp4. If no joy, please upload your project to a server - Dropbox, Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc. - and link it here. Someone will have a look. Click FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT and upload the folder that results.

    Fade in?

Look at the top-left corner of the first clip on the timeline. Click the fade symbol.

  5. Split the clip (as many times as needed) and apply the appropriate speed to each segment. AFAIK, that's the only way to effect a speed trajectory.
  6. Unable to duplicate your results here, using 5.02. Tested a sequence with five clips, the last of which was an inserted sequence. All clips had various transitions and effects applied. Saved as SAVE PROJECT, SAVE AS PROJECT and PORTABLE project and in each instance there were no missing pieces when the VPJ was reloaded.
  7. Drop your background clip onto the timeline Before you place the clip of yourself on the timeline, double-click it to bring up the effects box... Border it Scale it (not crop) Position it Drop it onto the overlay track (track 2) The result should look somewhat like this
  8. If you save a completed project as FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT, are 'holes' evident?
  9. When reloading the project does VP prompt for the missing clips? Or does it load, but have 'holes' in the timeline? Are the original clips in the media bin?
  10. Adjust overall balance and volume of an entire track with the sliders to its left. Individual audio clips can be tweaked; double-click them. Effects can be applied; select (highlight) an audio click, then click the AUDIO EFFECTS icon. Clips can be made into WAV files, edited elsewhere, then brought back into VP. Click ? for HELP.
  11. Here is your completed video - 1280 x 720 Mp4. It indeed had two audio channels. Here is the zipped project with those two channels combined. It's problematic whether it will load into your Mac, but it does on the PC. Unzip, then click on the VPJ file. You might want to work on audio a bit more, as narration is sometimes buried in the effects. Suggest that all non-stereo material be on both channels, as with narration, (center-channel stereo) and that music or efx be dipped so that the narration 'pops.'
  12. Two clips appear to be missing - the intro and wav file 0013. You might upload those as well. No need to zip. Two tracks of about six-minutes duration load here, but my PC Videopad version may not precisely duplicate what you see on the Mac. Have you tried macfly's suggestion?
  13. You're halfway there. That's the data (VPJ) file. Now what's needed are all the source files (clips) - images, video, audio, narration, etc. If there are many dozens, please zip them into a single file.
  14. The quick fix, it would seem, is to purchase a license. But if that's not possible, and the project is a small one, please zip all its files, including the narration, music and VPJ data file into a single folder, upload it to a server like DropBox, MS OneDrive, Google Drive, etc and link it here.. Someone will take a look and try to make sense out of what took place.
  15. One approach... Track one: Your main video Track two: ADD BLANK from the toolbar. Any color. Open effects for that track by clicking the FX on that track in the timeline. Click the MASK icon (smaller green + sign to the right of the larger green +) and create a polygon mask. Shape it by dragging the handles in the preview window. Click the larger green + sign and add a transparency effect. Drag the opacity slider to the far left. Track three: ADD TEXT of the desired color and move it to the top. Text can be place by using either the positioning icons in the text window or by dragging it in preview. Drop the clip onto track three. Track four: ADD text again and position it at the bottom. Drop this clip onto track four. Track three text could be both the top and bottom, with the proper spacing, but it might be easier to do them separately.

    FX window gone

Your current version exe file may be in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad" folder. Back up the project and run the installer again. The latest is here. Whether your license is valid for it depends upon when you purchased. If problems arise check out this resource.

    FX window gone

Does the effects window pop up when the video in the timeline sequence is first clicked ... and then, in the toolbar, you click on VIDEO EFFECTS?
  18. Image isn't totally clear, but it appears that there is nothing on the timeline (video and/or audio). This will become a sequence that can be exported. Right-click your clip, and Place Clip on Sequence. THEN try your export.
  19. Check out this thread, which seems to describe similar behavior. Also do a search in this forum for "export." If problems persist, please upload your project to a server - DropBox, Ms OneDrive, Google Drive, etc. - and link it here. Click the FILE menu, then SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT. Upload that file. If it's large, zip it first.
  20. A weird one, if you cannot launch the EXPORT process. Try launching Videopad itself it by right-clicking and clicking RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. Remember, there must be at least one clip on the timeline, or there will be nothing to export. If no joy, perhaps the program did not correctly install. Back up your project to an independent folder, using FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT. This will store all the project files and the VPJ data file. Go to PROGRAMS AND FEATURES and UNinstall Videopad. Then install the latest version.
  21. "Save Project As" is the wrong window for exporting. Click on EXPORT|VIDEO FILE and select Mp4 if necessary. Then...

The (Windows) install file should be available in this folder: c:/program files (x86)/NCH/Videopad. Copy it to the new PC, and run it. This caveat, from NCH... "What restrictions apply to the license? If the license is named as an "Installation License" the main restriction is you need to purchase one license serial number for each computer that the program runs on. Can I move the software or reinstall the software in future? Within reason - yes. As long as the software does not continue to run on the old computer you can install the software on a new computer. As a piracy control measure we do limit the number of installations to 2 times in any 12 month period. Note: we do run an anti-piracy system which can detect multiple installs. But as long as the software (with one serial number) runs on one PC at any one time, you will not have problems."
  23. What export settings/file type did you use? Please upload your PORTABLE PROJECT, per the earlier post in this thread, and someone will check it out.
  24. One way... Set the ZOOM effect as desired. Open the POSITION effect and, with the red line at the beginning of the shot, drag the crosshatch in the preview window until the image is off-screen - to the bottom in this example. In the PRESET drop-down box, choose SLIDE UP (shown here) or SLIDE DOWN, if that's your aim. To see the animation editor, click the icon pointed to by the top arrow in the image below. To see individual parameters click an icon pointed to by the lower arrow. In this example only the parameters for the position effect have been enabled, as indicated by the vertical | to the right of their icons. Mouse over any icon and a pop up will describe what it does.
