  1. Are you running the latest version?
  2. Editing can be exasperating, but that tone will only result in no one helping, or your post being removed. Describe calmly and thoroughly, step-by-step, exactly what you are attempting to do. What format, what effects or transitions, splits, etc. If the explanation would be helped by an image or video, link it - from a server like Dropbox, Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc. - or insert it per instructions in the sticky post at the top of the forum, "Tips for getting help on this forum."
  3. It appears that DVD Movie creation is preset, with no user options. The YouTube video (54+ minutes) was downloaded and saved as an mp4, imported into Videopad and exported as a DVD MOVIE disc (720 x 480). It looks natural - no oversaturation - both on the PC and on a Samsung 51" TV. Of course, this wasn't the original file. Here, for a short time, is a link to the final twenty-minutes of the DVD. It may take a minute to download or play.
  4. To the second. And it seems that Ed has been able to overcome the problem.
  5. Please download this VP_test.vob file and use ADD FILE to import it into the media window. May take a few minutes. Don't place it on the timeline. Mouse over the file. In the popup that appears, what is shown as the length of the file. (Note: File will be deleted from the server on 6/8/17.)
  6. Simon said: > I had always used mp4 because I thought it was the best and it is it's been known for its quality. > Thing is, for videopad preset "Youtube 480p" they put you on flv, why is that? Insight here. Use a search engine for more.
  7. Depress and hold the <alt> key while dragging.
  8. If the AVI isn't personal or lengthy please upload it to Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive or the like and link it here. Someone will attempt to dupe your result.
  9. The latest version is here. Try it out. An eventual upgrade isn't free though, because it's been several years since you purchased. Video editing is resource intensive; what are the specs for your PC - CPU, GPU, RAM, available disk space, etc. ? Lowering preview resolution may help. Right-click in the preview window to set it. To eliminate the possibility there is cache corruption, "clear unused files." That button should be under an OPTION tab.
  10. Using Windows 10? Type "system information" into the search box, left-bottom of the screen. Or click Start|Run and type "msinfo32" <enter>.
  11. This is a 1920 x 1080 Mp4 rendition of your production; no black holes. Downloaded and shown full-screen with Media Player Classic, it looks clean. What are the specs of your PC: CPU, GPU, RAM, free disk space, etc.?
  12. That may have been intended, to keep the things simple? If you want numbers, try using the POSITION and ZOOM effects independently.
  13. Some things to try... After clicking on the transitions X at the end of a clip two choices are presented: freeze and overlap. Try them both. Try extending the FROM clip a bit, if video is available, so the transition will begin later. Drag its out point to the right. The TO clip will ripple to the right as well.
  14. Please click FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT and upload it to Dropbox, Google Drive, MS OneDrive or the like and link it here. Someone will test it.
  15. What GPU. You could use 4 more Gb of RAM for resource intensive video editing. Please click FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT and upload it to Dropbox, Google Drive, MS OneDrive or the like and link it here. Someone will test it.
  16. Some things to try... Clear unused cache files, under OPTIONS|DISK menu. Update to the latest version, if that's not what's already in use. Upload your project, so someone can check it out,
  17. Click the FX icon on the clip's audio track. Click on the green + sign and choose AMPLIFY. Reduce the gain. The waveform won't change but the volume level will, which may lessen the distortion. You can test other audio effects, such as the compressor, and plot keyframes to change the gain at specific points.
  18. On the toolbar, ADD TEXT. Select a scroll option. Scroll timing depends upon the length of the clip. See this link.
  19. Prior to placing the clip on the timeline, click on it in the media bin (top left). In the preview window set the IN/OUT points (red and blue lines). See the PLACE button, under the preview window? Click its chevron and choose where on the timeline to place the segment that you have isolated. Or use the green downward arrow in the media folder toolbar. Same thing.
  20. While Videopad has a minimal normalize function, you might want to run sound files through WAVEpad prior to editing, to ensure equal and maximum levels. VP audio can be converted to independent WAV files, manipulated in WAVEpad, then replace the original audio in Videopad. Here's an explanation of what normalizing does.
  21. Do you mean that the icon for an exported VP file, such as an Mp4 movie, doesn't have an image? This is related to the default player that is configured for the specific file type. For example... MPC-HC is configured as the default for WMV files. The file icon displays a frame of video. Click it, and the file plays. If a video frame is not found, or if the player's icon can't display one, the icon for the player itself is often seen. To learn how to add an image here see the "tips for getting help" sticky post at the top of the forum.
  22. Loaded up quickly here. Apparently there's a issue with your system though I'm at a loss to say what it might be... Install and run VP as administrator (right-click|RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR) and see if that makes a difference.
  23. Doesn't make sense. How's the free space on your hard drive? Clear TEMP files. You might upload a file or two to a server and link them here, so folks can verify that they load.
  24. And what about the "use hardware-accelerated video effects" ? Did switching that ON or OFF make any difference? Have you cleared Windows TEMP files lately? Here's a handy free utility.
  25. This thread appears to discuss the same issue, though the fix for that user may not apply to your PC.
