Test it with the "use hardware accelerated effects" box UNchecked, under OPTIONS|Editing tab. Your PC's specs? CPU and RAM, GPU? Unused disk space?
  2. Don't know whether your situation is being impacted by what appears to be low-end graphics. Look at this comparison of graphics capabilities.
  3. What machine are we dealing with here? RAM, CPU, Video Memory?
  4. Add POSITION effect keyframes to the text clip. Right-click the clip, click EFFECTS and duplicate this... For info on how to construct keyframes look here. Lengthening the text clip will slow the scroll; shortening it will speed it up. You might also experiment with a right-click on the clip|CHANGE CLIP SPEED.
  5. Some OBS info, if you haven't already run across it. Extract from Wavepad HELP... To 'normalize' is to adjust the volume so that the loudest peak is equal to (or a percentage of) the maximum signal that can be used in digital audio. Usually you normalize files to 100% as the last stage in production to make it the loudest possible without distortion. Another reason to normalize is to have multiple tracks sound equally loud, or to have equal average loudness.
  6. Unclear what the problem is. But if it once worked well, and now does not, click OPTIIONS|Disk tab and delete the cache files. If still no good, try reinstalling Videopad...or upgrade to the newest version.
  7. This, from Videopad HELP - echoing what Ivan suggests... Split Screen Allows you to crop the clip to take up a predefined portion of the image. To achieve a split screen effect, overlay a clip and assign the initial clip and the overlay to different halves. A tutorial is here. Though it's for a slightly different version, you will get the idea.
  8. Thoughts... UNcheck Use Hardware-Accelerated Video Effects, under OPTIONS|Editing tab Clear Unused Cache Files, under the DISK tab Update the PC video driver, from the chip or card manufacturer's WEBsite http://www.geforce.com/drivers (NVidia) http://www.amd.com/en-us http://www.intel.com...) For joining files check this out. For blue screen errors look here.
  9. Clear unused cache files, under OPTIONS|EDITING tab. Update to the latest version.
  10. What are the specifications of your CPU, RAM and graphics adapter? In the latest version, look under the OPTIONS|Editing tab, UNcheck the "use hardware accelerated video effects" item, and run another test. Also, under the Disk tab, Clear the Unused cache files.
  11. Test the latest version. You may have to pay to upgrade your registration. Retain the install file for 4.05.
  12. Click the SEQUENCE tab that's above the media files area. Click on the sequence itself, just below. Switch the viewing window to CLIP preview, if it isn't already in that mode. Note the red bracket beneath the thumbnails. Drag it all the way to the left.
  13. An example using the POSITION effect to achieve a scroll/pause/scroll... And the result
  14. Check out this recent thread. And this one.
  15. Are you running the latest VP version? Try the download/install once gain. Be sure you're connected to the Net while installing.
  16. In 4.58, look under OPTIONS|Editing tab and UNcheck the "use hardware accelerated video effects" box. Compare a run with your prior results. Also, under the EXPORT tab, confirm that the "enable video lossless exporting" is not checked. What are the PC and graphic card specs of the machine?
  17. Normally don't see that here, but hold down <alt> while dragging and see if that helps. Be aware of the new transition mode - overlap. The default can be specified under the OPTIONS|Editing tab.
  18. Yes sir. Select the desired clips by holding down <ctrl> while clicking on each, or select them all with <ctrl-a>. Click on the TRANSITIONS icon in the toolbar and choose the transition. VP will then prompt to "apply to all" or "apply to one."
  19. 4.58. The audio level of narration was low, so the original track was replaced with a normalized copy. Outputted two video files, one using the MPEG4 compressor with 8192 avg. and max. settings, 128 bit rate, 25fps YouTube HD 1920 x 1080...and the other using the H264 encoder defaults. Both sounded identical, with no clipping. Here's the H264 final. Try using default audio settings.
  20. The default transition length is set under OPTIONS|Editing tab. The duration can be altered on a one-time basis by entering the desired time into the box that's at the bottom-right hand corner of the transitions window. The two clips must be long enough to accommodate the transition length - half the trans duration for the FROM clip and half for the TO clip..
  21. One user stated: "I had this error message when trying to save a movie and discovered that it was because the File Format box was empty. I selected .mp4 from the drop down and it saved all right." Threads that deal with this error... http://nch.invisionzone.com/index.php?/topic/14302-cant-make-another-movie/ http://nch.invisionzone.com/index.php?/topic/19928-failed-to-create-your-movie-could-not-initialize-video-output/
  22. Where are you setting the "quality" options? Have you checked the mic level input at the Windows mixer? Right-click the speaker icon (in the notification area) and click on recording devices. Tested a narrated export (mp4) here and results matched those in VP preview.
  23. Take a look in TOOLS|OPTIONS under the EDITING tab for an "apply audio crossfade to video transition" box. UNcheck it. If the audio still fades, choose NO TRANSITION. Then reinstate the desired transition. There are now two transition modes. The old mode will not alter the positioning of clips. If sufficient video is not available during the transition, freeze frames are generated to fill the gap as in past VP versions. The new mode will move the clips slightly to create an overlap (no freeze). Set the default mode by clicking the chevron to the right of the Video Clip Transitioning box, where it reads "Ask Me." Experiment a bit to get the drift of how each mode applies to the transition at hand.
