  1. Someone here will be glad to help, if you share your project. Problems often are quickly resolved. It's not difficult and can be private. Just follow these instructions... Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. It won't be passed on or retained. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to share it.
  2. What version of Videopad is being used? Have you applied a speed change? What type (format) of files make up the project? If you share you project, someone here will check it out and often come up with a fix. This isn't difficult and can be done privately. Just follow the instructions in this FAQ... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. It won't be passed on or retained. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to share it.
  3. What version of VP is being used? Here's the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. What's the source of the audio, and in what format? Are there many audio files (clips) or just a continuous track tied to video? If possible please upload a source audio file that you use in the project, so it can be analysed. OR even the entire audio/video source, if it's not overly huge. 4. Apply the fade first, then change the speed. Works fine on an audio only clip here.
  5. Does the file play okay in the PC's media player? Did you reboot the machine? Share that Mp4 and we'll check it out. It's not difficult... Upload the file to Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, etc. Copy the URL and paste it into your post here.
  6. Did you link Videopad to Google? It prompts for that here. Success with Google Drive. Once linked, restart the export process. An alternative would be to export your video in a YouTube approved format, then use their uploader.
  7. As noted earlier, adding (any) overlay at the track 1 cut point delays the switch between clips by a few frames. That's not right. Clicking on the sequence should show all tracks. There are view options under the VIEW button's drop-down menu. But how this looks can vary with the relative resolutions of the clips. As for crop positioning, crop the left border, then subtract its numerical value from 100. Input the result for the right border. That should be centered.
  8. Thanks for sharing. It appears that adding the mask overlay is causing the main track to delay shot #2 by two frames. Reported But why use an overlay when applying a crop to clip two does the job?
  9. Above the bin (top-left of the window) click the SEQUENCES tab. Click on the sequence folder, usually Sequence 1. Under the preview window note that some thumbnails are shaded. Only the UNshaded area is exported. Drag the left and right brackets to their respective ends, to UNshade it all, then export.
  10. My take on this is that Masters and Pro versions are one in the same, as opposed to the Home version, which has some limitations in tracks and effects.
  11. We need to see the projects just as you do in order to track the issues down. Upload and share, and mention specific times in the project that the errors occur, if possible. Adding Images

Let's take a look at the photo. It's easy... Upload the image to Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, etc. Copy (share) the URL and paste it into your post here.
  13. What version of Videopad is being used? The very best way to suss this out is for you to share the project. It's easy, doesn't take much time and can be private. Just follow the steps here... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. It won't be passed on or retained. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to share it.
  14. Picture-in-Picture perhaps... Load a video file to create a new video clip. Overlay the video clip on the sequence by adding it to a video track above the background clip(s). Edit the video effects applied to the video clip. Add or select the Motion effect. Reduce the Scale value to make the video smaller. Adjust the Position X and Y values to move the video.
  15. All shall be clear in due time. There are several ways to unlink audio and video for the God Is Good mp4, but the one mentioned earlier is probably the easiest overall. In the BIN, right-click the file and UNlink Audio and Video. Now click the bin Video Files tab and drop the file onto the video track, above your audio. No hole is created. Right-click this clip on the sequence and COPY. Use the ||< and >|| buttons under the preview window to place the red-lined cursor at the end of the video clip. Then press <ctrl-V> repeatedly, to duplicate the clip as many times as you like. Were you dealing with a still frame, its borders could be dragged to any duration. But that's not the case with an audio/video mp4. GIG.mp4

    Leaving Videopad

When new issues arise initiate a thread with a descriptive subject. If performance is sluggish when dealing with large files and multi-effects, even after caching (green lines) are complete, then proxy editing is worth considering. Takes a bit to set up but the payback in performance may be worth it. This approach is non uncommon, even in commercial editing situations with higher-end hardware than that employed by the typical home user. In some cases, it can help to break up a lengthy project, assembling pieces later - especially if export balks. Unlike some software that may update once yearly, VP is under constant improvement. When bugs are verified they are quickly fixed. Expect higher performance in the future, where GPU will be utilized more extensively, easing the CPU load. Use SAVE PROJECT AS regularly, giving it a unique # or name, so as to not overwrite earlier saves. SAVE PROJECT will overwrite.
  17. Glad it's fixed. Don't know why the gap was created, but closing gaps doesn't affect clips - it simply purges gaps between or, in this case, after them. That said, this could affect the relative alignment of other tracks. Use <ctrl-Z> or EDIT | UNDO any time there's an error, which will step back through all edits. <ctrl-Y> or EDIT | REDO steps forward. Regularly SAVE PROJECT AS and give it a unique # or name, so as to not overwrite earlier saves. That way you can restore as needed. SAVE PROJECT will overwrite. Your zoom issue hasn't been reported. Effects should act only on the clip at hand, unless the user purposely selects a number of clips and applies the APPEND or REPLACE CHAIN buttons. When issues arise, this is the place to get help from other users. The newest beta release is here.
  18. Thanks for sharing. There's a gap in the sequence... Right-click the video track in the blank area after the end and CLOSE GAP IN SEQUENCE.
  19. Let's take a look. Most issues are quickly solved. Please share your project per these instructions. We'll be standing by to check it out.
  20. Good to hear. It's wise to Clear Unused Cache Files when starting a new project.

Glad it worked out. When working with very large media, try the proxy method if editing is not responsive after fully caching (completed green lines). Exporting at 29.97 and in 2K will ease the load without significant quality loss, unless the content requires 60fps.
  22. Have you checked out Express Burn? https://www.nch.com.au/burn/index.html
  23. Test this beta version. It appears that the shadow issue is resolved. It may work better for you in other respects as well. Report back.
  24. You might want to test this beta version, which has corrected some audio issues.
  25. Try this beta version and report back, please. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
