Indeed. Likely the reason that user A at times cannot replicate an issue experienced by user B, though both run the same version. THIS one is being fixed as we type.

You're right, Nat. Appears to be another A/B issue. After clicking the scissors, focus in the video track is lost. Select it again and the split works. Reported.

Confirmed in v8.18. Okay in 8.20. Have seen similar behavior in the past, but could not pin it down. At times had to resort to the Split button Video only drop-down menu to execute a split.

What version of Videopad is being used? What are the sizes and format of source files - HD, 2K, 4K? Try toggling Hardware Acceleration, under OPTIONS | EDITING tab to see if that helps. Under the OPTIONS | DISK tab, Clear Unused Cache Files. Also shut down other programs that may be running the in the background. If performance is slow after files are cached (completed green lines above thumbnails), take a look at PROXY editing. With very large files it can increase efficiency considerably.

See this thread. Videopad can export in a multitude of formats. Choose the one that you prefer and that Facebook accepts.

You can preview a loop in Videopad by clicking the button. But it is your media player that allows looping of an exported VP file. MPC-BE (free) does the job nicely. https://sourceforge.net/projects/mpcbe/ Under VIEW tab | OPTIONS, in the Playback section, click the Repeat Forever button.

Used BING translate to create a line of Turkish text, then added it to the version 8.18 VP subtitle interface and saved it as an SSA file. When restored later it looked the same, but for size. What c_major outlines is correct and desirable when clips are dragged from the bin. In the demonstration above, dragging clips on the sequence is also fine. But, with an install here, v8.18 acted as Nat outlines - not good. After several over-installs it performed as shown in the videos above - which is correct, IMO. For marketing purposes, slight feature or options variations are worth checking out. For example, availability of certain effects or the OPTIONS | shortcuts tab. But confusion results when users experience different functionality and performance issues within the same version.

"Insert at cursor" from the bin inserts a dupe #1 image in front of #2. What's going on here appears to be due to A/B testing, causing inconsistent results for users. Reinstall v8.18 repeatedly until it acts as above, which seems the best behavior. Fully agree. Apparently that isn't the case with some builds.

What version is being used? Even within the same version #, there may be slight behavioral differences. In beta v8.18 installed here clips drop cleanly if the arrows are lined up at the cut points. If not lined up, a clip will drop into another clip. If <alt> is held while dragging, the dragged clip will cover the new clip and leave a gap. The first two examples below are a simple drag. No way, AFAIK. But a pop up shouldn't keep you from clicking on the desired button. The link button that this tip refers to is offset from the button. A sequence splitting example... Record_2020_03_20_14_07_05_945.mp4 For effects, shortcuts may be useful. In OPTIONS, that tab may or may not be shown, depending upon the VP build that installed. If it doesn't appear, and you want it, no need to download again. Simply reinstall repeatedly until the tab shows up. This can take several tries.
