  1. It's not entirely clear what you are attempting. Are you using the non-paid version, and now cannot export an Mp4? If so, try AVI. If that fails, reinstall the program from here. Better still, license Videopad. If instead you can't upload directly to YouTube, export in one of their approved formats and use their uploader to locate the file on your PC and post it..
  2. Your sound cache shows 12 Gigs? Here it's 92 MB, after fiddling with several projects. How long is your project?
  3. GAPS in the sequence can be easily spotted in Storyboard mode. What version of Videopad is being used? How long is the project? Please share your project. Fixes usually come quickly. This isn't difficult, takes only minutes and can be private. Then it can be export tested by others. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. It won't be passed on or retained. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to share it.
  4. The sound cache will always go to C:\. That cache should not tax your drive/PC. A beta release will be out shortly; worth testing. https://www.nchsoftware.com/beta/
  5. As long as the PC or Mac has the needed codecs for the file you exported there should be no problem. The Mp4 container, using the H264 codec (the default) usually works well. If the Mac balks, try MOV for your export.
  6. Share the project and someone will check it out. It's easy, takes little time and can be private. OR simply upload the text clips that you want for the template, complete with their working effects, fonts and audio for testing here.. Not seeing a problem with templates... Created a template consisting of a title object and a musical note, and saved it. Then cleared the sequence. A placeholder wasn't used in this test. Imported a video clip and dropped it into the sequence. Clicked the chevron to the right of the TEMPLATES icon and chose Apply Template to Open Project. This created a new sequence 2 that displayed the template. Selected both audio and video in that sequence and pressed <ctrl-C> to copy the template. (Same as EDIT | COPY) Clicked the Sequence 1 tab and pressed <ctrl-V> to paste the template. It overlays. Then it could be positioned where desired. Positioning did not affect the video. 7. What version of VP is being used? Try the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. THE best way to diagnose issues if to let other run the project just as you do. It's easy to share, takes but a few minutes, and can be private. Let's take a look... 8. To be frank, strictly IMO, unless you settle for 2K export you're in for a losing battle. But if you're hell-bent on 4K, try this. No guarantee. Whatever your film's length the same thinking applies, During the edit, do not include global effects such as a watermark that runs throughout. SAVE the completed edit First try an export by deleting all unused sequences, clearing cache, then creating a blank Sequence 2 by clicking the + sign to the right of Sequence 1. Click the Sequences tab above the bin and drop Sequence One into the blank Sequence 2. Add global effects, then export. Worth a quick test. This is now a single, composited clip. Effects/transitions, overlays, audio tracks won't show up on the sequence but they're there. If this fails, split the project. Using a 5-minute effort as an example... Start by removing all sequences except the one used for the final project, and clear unused cache files. 1. Split out the first minute of the project (plus a few seconds overlap) and delete the rest. 2. Click the + sign to the right of the Sequence 1 tab to create a new blank sequence. 3. Drag Sequence 1 into Sequence 2. 4. Export Sequence 2. Repeatedly press <ctrl-Z> (EDIT | UNDO) until only Sequence 1 is again shown IN FULL on the timeline. If you go back too far, click <ctrl-Y> (EDIT | REDO) Split out the second minute plus a few seconds overlap at each end, and delete all other content. Repeat the steps above for each remaining segment. When all have been exported, restart VP, Clear the Unused Cache Files and import all parts in order. Clean up the edit points, eliminating overlaps. Add global effects, such as a watermark. Export at 4K. You can try lossless but it likely won't work if a global overlay has been added. Considering that all the fancy stuff is now composited and won't require processing, this may succeed. It has here.
  9. The devs are always tweaking performance. Nothing official, but a large 4K project may be butting up against VP memory limitations - it's a 32-bit app (for now). There are convolutions that have succeeded here, but they aren't worth the hassle IMO. 2K generally does well and looks sharp. Can't say whether the differing frame rates have an impact. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable will chime in... Your link responds "oops, something went wrong." Don't forget to share it publicly.
  10. Using a beta version 8.23, rag 5 loaded and played normally. Nary a glitch. What version is installed there? Consider installing the latest release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  11. Drag the second clip below the first, which will create audio track 2.
  12. See if either of these pages is of help. https://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html https://www.nch.com.au/general/refund.html This is a peer support forum - folks just like yourself.
  13. Place the red-lined cursor at the cut point, right-click the clip in the bin and PLACE ON SEQUENCE AT CURSOR. The clip will insert at that point, moving later clips to the right. If instead you prefer to drag the later clip, leaving a gap for the new one, first select (highlight) all the trailing clips, then hold down <alt> while dragging. They will all move right, leaving a gap. Yet another method is to drag the clip from the bin to the cut point. Watch for arrows on the sequence track. When they line up with the cut point, let go of the mouse button.
  14. What are your export settings: aspect ratio ... and resolution, which often works best at "auto match" though that's only a suggestion.
  15. There have been several similar reports of late, but the audio loss can not be replicated by NCH or the testers in this forum. That's the case with both of your projects. Using version 8.23, they loaded and exported normally with audio intact. For a short while, here is the result of the video clip. Click DOWNLOAD to save it to your PC. What are your PC's specs: RAM/CPU brand and #. To see this, click the Notification icon at the bottom-right of the Windows 10 screen. Click ALL SETTINGS | SYSTEM | ABOUT. Can you test Videopad on another PC? Try closing Videopad, then restart it and before loading anything Clear Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS | DISK tab. If that makes no difference, try a total uninstall using this free tool. After it runs the Windows uninstaller, select all the registry files that it finds and uninstall those as well. Then reinstall Videopad. A note has been sent to the developers. Please report your findings here after trying the above measures..
  16. Folks here will be glad to help... What version of Videopad is being used? Please share your project, so we can take a look. It's easy, takes but a few minutes and can be done privately. Echoing Nat's instructions, above, here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). 17. Let's check out your logo. Please upload to a free server, make the link public and post it here. You might even include a link to a screenshot of the way it looks when resized and positioned.
  18. To save a group of effects as a template to later apply to other clips: Open the effects window by selecting a clip and going to "Video Effects" on the toolbar or click the FX button in the clip on the sequence. Once this is done, you can apply or edit the effects you wish to save as a template, then hit the "Save as effect chain template" button. Enter a descriptive name to use for your template (e.g. "Shrink to Corner") and hit "Save". When you want to apply it later, open effects, scroll down the items to the bottom and choose your template; it's just another effect. Go with Nat's PROJECT template instructions below if you want to save the sound cue with the video. Even without a placeholder the template can be used just as he instructs. and manually moved to where you want it in the sequence. To rename your template, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu at the top-left of the window, then click FILE | OPEN PROJECT. Locate the folder that contains your project templates - likely "C:\Users\<user>\Documents\VideoPad Projects\Templates" ... Right click on the template and RENAME.
  19. It is free for use. This may be a YouTube issue. Just tested an upload to YT with an NCH music cut and it succeeded. What specific cut did you use? https://nchsoftware.blogspot.com/2013/07/royalty-free-music-library.html Request help... http://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html As an alternative, type "royalty free music" into any search engine.
  20. Share the project. It's the best way to have someone replicate what you report. It's easy, takes but a few minutes and can be private. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. 21. Drag your clips to the sequence, arrange them to taste. You might even separate them with GAPS by dragging them apart. Then export using the specified settings In this example the export File Format was Mp4, but there are many others. Ask your brother which format he prefers.
  22. One approach, provided this isn't an orchestra, is to place each clip on its own track, then apply effects to each, positioning them in different screen corners. A multi-split. Try the split-screen effect, using "fill region.' Position video by dragging it on the preview screen. After synching, edit each track independently.
  23. Please see this thread... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/30613-program-will-not-recognize-my-youtube-channel-resolved/?tab=comments#comment-80406
  24. Thank you for sharing your project. Using version 8.23 it completed export as a 1080 Mp4. All audio was present, but the timeline between 3:10 - 3:29 is missing video. Perhaps that explains three Mp4 files, each with no content, that could not be loaded. They are MVI 8209, 8239 and 8240. Please reinstall the program, then reload your project. Colleen followed up...
