  1. You never have to pay to upgrade; your licensed version will continue to function if you bought it outright, not on subscription. Newer versions released within six-months of purchase can be installed and licensed for free.
  2. Share your project here, on in private, and someone will be glad to check it out. Just follow these simple steps; takes but a few minutes... Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. It won't be passed on or retained. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to share it.
  3. When exporting choose a lower resolution. The result will be a smaller file. Just be sure it meets FB standards.
  4. A VPJ file is not playable; it's a Videopad control file. It saves instructions on your project settings, effects, transitions, etc. The VPJ has nothing to do with exporting. Look at the YouTube list of acceptable formats. MOV is one of them. Export in one of those formats from Videopad to your PC. Then use YouTube's uploader to get that file onto their system. The latest version of Videopad for Windows is here. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  5. Working in timeline mode shouldn't be a problem. E-X-P-A-N-D the timeline with the slider at the bottom -right to see small clips more easily.
  6. Once you export a file from VP in a format that Facebook accepts it is saved on your PC. The file types... https://www.facebook.com/help/218673814818907 How to upload... https://www.dummies.com/social-media/facebook/how-to-upload-video-to-facebook/
  7. Under OPTIONS menu | DISK it's not a bad idea of Clear Unused Cache Files before each new project, export or upload to YT. You can also try a reinstall of the program. If the VP direct uploader fails export a video file in a YouTube acceptable format and use their uploader. YouTube supports these video formats for upload: 3GPP, AVI, FLV, MOV, MPEG4, MPEGPS, WebM and WMV. MPEG4 commonly uses the .mp4 file extension. YouTube also recommends specific encoding settings for optimal conversion. These are the H.264 video codec for an .mp4 container, and the AAC-LC audio codec with a sample rate of 48 kHz or 96 kHz. Uploaded videos in an aspect ratio different than 16:9 have black bars added to prevent stretching or cropping in the Web player. Uploaded videos that are 16:9 have no such letterboxing or pillarboxing -- the terms used for added bars in wide-screen displays. (Info from Chron.com)
  8. Please look here... https://www.nch.com.au/action/reginfo.html#videopad The unlicensed version may limit various features, especially after the trial period expires. In the licensed version the number of tracks is not limited. But "endless" is not practical: it's wise to keep their numbers to a reasonable level.
  9. Let's take a look at your completed project. Problems are usually quickly solved. It's easy, doesn't take long and can be private. 10. Drag clips from the bin to the area just above the current track. Or position the red-lined cursor at the spot where the clip is to be overlaid, right-click the clip in the bin and OVERLAY AT CURSOR. Check out the tutorials.
  11. Clever. 4K was only partial, as Nat noted, or has portions that freeze. Likely a memory issue. Stick with a 1920 or 2048x1080 export. Looks fine. For future builds of this nature consider overlaying on the lowest possible track when a clean cut allows instead of stacking 'infinitely.' This will minimize tracks. Download and install the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  12. In the v8.12 non-licensed version here, the Template button on the toolbar is just under the HOME tab - when that tab is active. As for adding text, click the ADD OBJECTS toolbar button and Add Simple Text. There is no page that lists the relative features of the licensed/non-licensed versions, AFAIK. In the latter, some export formats and effects are disabled.
  13. Strange. Shout out to tech support ... https://tinyurl.com/r89tpcw You might also try another download/install.

  16. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Here's the latest. If you are working with large files - 4K, for example - and green lines above the sequence thumbnails have completed but VP is sluggish, look into PROXY editing.
  17. For a crossfade, FROM clip fades down while TO clip fades up. 10 frames is probably too short. Try a longer transition. Also update to the latest version if possible, per the earlier posting. This is a very old thread. Best to start a new one with a descriptive subject and specific details in the body message.
  18. Windows 10 64-bit here. VP version 8.20. Try it. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Everything looks fine at this end.
  19. On further examination there appears to be something about the RPR ... mp4 file that Videopad is not loading correctly. Re-encoding that file, then using it for the edit session, solved the problem here.
  20. Many changes have been made since that version. Suggest that you update to the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If you are not licensed, the trial will likely allow what you need for a limited time, after which some features will be disabled.
  21. Just follow these instructions and we'll be able to run the project just as you see it... It won't be passed on or retained. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to share it. 22. Thanks for sharing. Expand the sequence by moving the slider at the bottom-right of the window to its far-right position. Right-click in the blank area just ahead of the first slide. The sequence will be at the start and you should see this... Click CLOSE GAP IN TRACK which will eliminate the space that's ahead of that slide. Also, because audio volume is low, suggest selecting (highlighting) all audio clips. (Select the first, hold down <shift> and select the last.) Now click the FX button on any one of those clips. When the effects box appears, click the large green + sign in the toolbar. Choose the NORMALIZE effect. Finally, click the fourth icon from the left on the toolbar. The pop up will read "replace effect chain in other selected clips."
  23. Using version 8.20... Your first project - stick - was fully accepted as a lossless here. Three clips exported. That mp4 result was loaded into Videopad, then two still were added - middle and end. Lastly, the edited project was exported at default mp4 settings. It looked just as previewed - complete with the stills in middle and at the end.
  24. Install this version and report back. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If the issue persists, share your project per the linked instructions in my earlier posting. Someone will be glad to check it out.
  25. HD (1080) files should pose no slowdowns. They are regularly used here in long projects and the interface responds well. The VP version is shown at the bottom-left of its window. If you share the five-minute project here (or in private) folks will run it on their PCs to see how performance compares. The process isn't difficult and takes but a few minutes.
