  1. Just did some testing and couldn't see anything wrong. Nat is right, for less powerful machines, sometimes the video can not be played smoothly before it fully cached. The cache will be regenerated after you applied a new effect.

    No video?

Both files worked for me, preview and export. How about other files?
  3. Release Note: Added masking feature which you can create your own mask region with optional soften edge. The effects after the mask in the effect queue will be applied inside the masked region. To add a mask region, click Add Mask button on effects dialog. Drag the points to change the shape of the mask. Left click on edge to add a new point. Right click on an existing point to remove it. Points on mask region can be animated. [*]Effects can be applied to multiple selected clips. [*]More precise A/V synchronizing for preview playback. [*]Fixed an issue caused audio being cut off for very long clips. [*]Improved performance for image processing, Overall faster exporting and previewing. [*]Improved performance for text clips with a lot of text. [*]Improved performance for handling thumbnails. [*]Many bug fixes including some crash issues on editing and exporting. We still working on some suggestions and bug reports. Thanks everyone for helping us make VideoPad better. Best regards.
  4. Hi, Addition to Nat's explanation: Checker background indicates a complete transparent area in the video frame. When playing the sequence, the area will be filled with the visible portion on lower tracks or pure black if nothing underneath. Best regards.
  5. YouTube recommended codec settings: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en
  6. I've tested on a few different versions, all the way back to 3.4. They produced the same size file under same settings. Apart from bit rate, there are some other settings can also effect output file size. e.g.: Frame rate and audio sample rate etc.. Best regards.
  7. It is on our todo list. However it is not included in the upcoming release. I've risen the priority for this item since requested. Best regards.
  8. Thanks for uploading the project. I've tried the project and exported successfully within a minute. I'm running v3.89 under Windows 8.1. Could you tell me which version are you using and the OS?
  9. @daorus: If you have installed an old version before. You can find the installation files in your application folder (C:\Program Files\NCH Software\VideoPad). Otherwise you can contact our support team to get a previous version. We did some changes in the playback engine for the upcoming release. It was to fix an out of sync problem. It might also has effect on this behavior. The new version is currently in testing and will be released soon.
  10. Could you also include the media files? An easy way to share VideoPad projects: Main menu: File->Backup Project Files To Folder. Zip the folder into a single file and share it.
  11. This is not a feature. The sound should always start with the video. I've tried the video and works fine for me. Yes, it looks like it happens because of the CPU is busy.
  12. Is it happens on all your projects or just one? How much disk space you have? Could you please tell us the format, resolution and length of the output video? Best regards.
  13. Hi Lola, Thanks for the video you've shared with us. We had found the problem and fixed it. VideoPad is now under testing and there will be a new released soon. The fix will be included in the new release. Unfortunately we've found that the problem was in preview playback - not exporting. So you when you upgrade to the new version, your project will be out of sync in the preview. You'll still need to adjust it again. This time should be exported correctly. Best regards
  14. Hi Nat, Thanks for the information.
  15. Nat's analyse is correctly. Another workaround before we release the fix of this problem: Put the split clip into a separated new sequence, add the new sequence into your working sequence as a clip and then reverse it. It will work as expected.
  16. It seems the error message was caused by the VideoPad components couldn't run properly. To help us better diagnostic the problem, could you please do the following suggested by Borate some time ago:
  17. Hi, All video encoding methods using in codecs are lossy, which means the quality will drop no matter what settings you chosen while encoding. Although some codec produce result that without noticeable quality dropping with proper settings. Encoding will happens when you generating a video file. To avoid exporting a VideoPad project more then once, you can make each pass in to a separated Sequence. For example, you have two VideoPad Projects, and you want to export project 1 into a video clip and then use the clip in project 2 and then export project 2 into a video file. The better way to do this is: make project 1 in to a Sequence in project 2, we only export project 2 so the encoding only be performed once. VideoPad allow multiple Sequences in one project. You can add a new Sequence from main menu "Sequence"->"New Sequence" or press "+" on the sequence tab. The latest version will also allow you to import and existing project as a Sequence into another project from menu "Clip"->"Import clips form another project". This a new feature and we still working on it. Please check out later versions for changes and fixes. I hope this answers your questions. Best regards.
  18. Hi, I did some testing for reversing a split clip. It seems there is something wrong: For example, I split the clip into 3 equal parts - 1, 2, 3. When I reverse the part 3, instead of seeing part 3 in reverse, I saw part 1 reversed in the third clip. I think this is a bug and should be fixed. Thanks everyone reporting and trying to solved the problem.
  19. Thanks Lola, please PM me if you finish uploading.
  20. Hi Lola, Is it possible to upload the files on DropBox? Thanks,
  21. Hi Lola, You can contact our support team also via this link: http://www.nch.com.a...port/index.html You'll need to register(purchase) VideoPad to obtain an older version though. If you purchase the software and there is a bug causing this issue, we'll provide you a free upgrade when this bug is fixed. We'll give you a full refund if we can not solve the problem. Could you tell me what's the version number which works fine for you previously? The version number can be easily found at the status bar (at the bottom of the main screen). For the other thread: v3.72 is not the latest version. We've fixed some bugs since that. The latest version(v3.89) can be download from here: http://www.nchsoftwa...ad/vppsetup.exe You can try the latest version for free with limited number of times to export. Could you please manually copy all the media files used in the project and the .vjp file into one folder, zip it and upload to DropBox? Please also provide a screen shoot for the error messages. You help is most appreciated. Best regards.
  22. Have you tried after reboot the machine?
  23. Could you please try clear another component folder: C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components This is the component folder for latest versions. Please be aware of that you might behind a firewall that blocks VideoPad from communicates to the server so the components can not be downloaded. Please check if there are new files in the component folder after you see the install on demand progress dialog (when you export again). Best regards.
  24. It could be your component files are messed up. Please try this: Close VideoPad. Delete everything in components folder using windows explorer: C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components Restart VideoPad and export again. You'll need internet access when you do so. The components will be automatically downloaded from our server when you export again.
  25. This message is not used in the recent versions. Your problem could just be fixed by upgrading VideoPad. Best regards.
