  1. it cant be converted with our software sorry. if you made that file from another piece of software, try to load it back in to that software and convert it to another format. if it came from a piece of hardware (like a mobile phone), try contacting the manufacturer for some software.
  2. if we find its possible, the idea is to put it into the next version.
  3. thats player software, its not converter software, its of no use to anyone here.
  4. its possible theres a program out there, but 1) you won't find it here 2) you still likely struggle to find it anywhere else OTHER than through the manufacturer of your cell phone.
  5. sorry we dont currently have support for preserving mp4 ID tags, but I'm happy to note it down and see if its possible for the next version.
  6. 1) there is no switch "demo", its a fully-functional trial 2) converting x minutes of a song is not a feature of any version of switch, trial or otherwise. Your file is most likely proprietary does not allow for full conversion of it.
  7. unfortunately we only support mp3 and wav currently as far as ID tags go. We haven't had any plans to support wma yet, but I'll certainly note it down and see if its possible.
  8. we're currently in the testing phase of a version of Mac Switch with the fix in it, please be patient because we do not want to rush testing.
  9. you must be using an old version of Scribe, the latest version doesn't require that plugin, go download the latest version : http://www.nch.com.au/scribe
  10. a PEK file is not audio, its just a graphic waveform, it contain no audio itself.
  11. we know about the format, but Audible has made it clear its illegal to convert it to other formats, so even if we knew how to support it then it would probably attract the attention of Audible's legal team.
  12. wavepad has never supported .3gp , how were you converting files to that format ?? are you getting confused with .amr format ? .amr is like a sub-format of 3gp, and wavepad does support that format. the only thing i can suggest is to change the file extension to .amr from .3gp and see if that works.
  13. please don't post the same question in multiple forums. I'm providing assistance in the WavePad forum already.
  14. what audio file format are you talking about? and what do you mean by "takes over 9 hours to load" ? are you saying when its loaded into WavePad, the loading process takes over 9 hours ? what is the duration of the file ? (in hours/mins/secs)
  15. I suspect Sony does not support your recorder yet with the plugin, you will have to contact them and verify if your recorder is supported by it or not.
  16. the converted file doesn't get loaded into Switch, you have to look for it yourself in Windows Explorer. You will only ever see the original mp3 file in Switch.
  17. sorry, RealMedia isn't support on Mac, see the FAQ: http://www.nch.com.au/switch/faq.html#ABA
  18. yes unfortunately that does complicate things, sony do not support dvf third-party plugins on mac, therefore we cannot support it ourselves. see here: http://www.nch.com.au/switch/faq.html#ABA you can try using the service YouSendIt (www.yousendit.com) to send the audio file to me and I'll see if it's convertable on Windows. as an aside, if you have an Intel Mac you can buy and install Windows XP on your Mac using Apple's Boot Camp software. See the Apple site for more details (or google it).
  19. no unfortunately there is no mac version. if you are using a mac to convert realmedia files, we don't support it on the mac its only on the windows version. i think the reason for that is Real do not have a third-party plugin for mac developers. see the faq question here: http://www.nch.com.au/switch/faq.html#ABA
  20. if its voice recordings, save to .wav using the GSM 6.10 codec, 8000Hz, mono if its music, save to mp3, and depending on what quality you want, try encoding at somewhere between 64kbps to 128kbps.
  21. you usually get that message when another piece of software has grabbed on to the file and won't let go of it, you will have to find out what that software is and shut it down. another possibility is it simply just can't play the file. the sony dvf plugin we are using does not support dvfs from every single recorder out there, why i do not know, but that is how sony chose to operate. check it is working in media player first, that is usually a sign of whether it is going to work or not. of course all this is assuming you have already installed the dvf plugin.....
  22. you cant go smaller than midi, because midi files contain only musical notation, and it relies on your sound card to read in the notes and create music with it. no other audio format does this, all the others store the entire music in the file itself (for obvious portability reasons). if you want the .wav file to travel in the PPT file, I believe there is an option in the Powerpoint options/settings which lets you set the maximum size for embedding files into a presentation. I believe the default size is set to 100k, which means anything over 100k will not be embedded, it will instead just link to the file on your hard drive. So to solve the problem, just increase that number to something bigger and re-add the wave file into your presentation. I am unfamiliar with what audio formats PPT supports, but also try converting to mp3 and put that mp3 into your presentation.

    AMR

its already supported in wavepad (www.nch.com.au/wavepad) and will be supported in the next switch.
  24. guys you really need to read up about DRM , online music stores do not let you purchase music from them in a format that you can convert and port elsewhere, they have to encrypt them in order to comply with legal guidelines issued by the record companies. If they did not encrypt the files, then they would be massively sued by record companies and would shut down very quickly.
  25. m4p files : while you can't directly convert them, perhaps RecordPad can record the song played in real time yes ? (www.nch.com.au/recordpad) no guarantees it will work, but a try is better than nothing. i've never heard of this new development in iTunes 6.0.5, that is very worrying, and makes me wonder why Apple would want to stifle the work of third-party developers. we'll continue working at the product on the mac though, its certainly not being abandoned, if anything we want to put extra focus on the mac version this time around.
