  1. sorry can you clarify, did you download it again from the web and are trying to activate it, or are you using the original installer you downloaded when you bought it? and what happens when you try your original code ? is it rejected ?
  2. its a problem with the standard "save" feature, you have to do a "save as" in order for it to work. we're investigating the issue, but unfortunately its very complex.
  3. we'll certainly take a look at this one, i'm not sure myself what the differences are between them in terms of formats supported (because i did not development either of those products and i do not do any Mac development).
  4. i'm not sure what you are talking about here, converting wav to mp3 is effectively the same as saving them to a file (an mp3 file), so when you say "after converting my WAV files to MP3, I can't seem to save them to a file", that implies you want to save to a mp3 file, and then do another save straight afterwards. perhaps you mean you can't convert at all because you lose the highlighting of the files, but i can't figure out how that would happen, since highlighting files and hitting the "convert" button does not lose the highlighting. even if you hit the "encoder settings" button it would not lose the highlighting either. and i'm not sure why you are surprised that exiting the program would lose the highlighting, but i'm guessing you have mis-typed something. removing files would of course lose the highlighting, thats the whole point.
  5. by default media player DRM encodes the files when ripping to WMA format, so we can't do anything with those files (because they are copy protected). in future turn the option off by going into the options -> rip music tab -> its in there somewhere
  6. what happens when you go to Program Files\NCH Swift Sound\Components\aacdec\ and open the aacdec.exe file in the command prompt ? does it look okay ? its also possible some program you installed replaced your msvcrt.dll run time library with an old version, do a start -> run -> type "sfc" and run a system file check to be sure.
  7. if you create a short sample file in audacity and give it to me so I can tell you what its using.
  8. its been put in to the software (decoding only) and so will be in the next release.

    announcement problem

did you enable exact time play mode for the announcements ? if not then nothing will happen.
  10. when you say "DAT" do you mean "Digital Audio Tape"? what file extension to the files have ? I don't think we can help you out here at any rate unfortunately.

    m4p

any music downloaded from the iTunes store is copy-protected to ensure you dont edit/convert it to other formats, or distribute it to others. please see the FAQ here: http://nch.com.au/acm/support.html#ITUNES
  12. i'm told there are some issues with the aacencoder for mac, so it doesn't quite work right now, we're trying to come up with a way we can pass it off to Quicktime for the next switch, please bear with us, and sorry for the frustration.
  13. we support in-band and AVT (telephone events), but not INFO. INFO is an old-ish way of transmitting DTMF, AVT is the best standard out of the three. in-band is often a very poor / dodgy way to transmit DTMF tones, because most VoIP systems use compressed codecs to transmit audio, in which case the tones also become compressed and may not sound like a proper tone by the time they get to the other end. as far as INFO goes, we respond with a "501 Not Implemented", and thats it.

    Please help

Well unfortunately the problem there is not everyone's browser is configured to launch media player automatically when any audio file is clicked, that feature often has to be manually set. I don't think the later versions of Internet Explorer allow it either, because it is a considered security risk. MP3 would be my recommendation anyway, everyone knows mp3, everyone has a player that plays it, and its not invented by Microsoft (unlike wma).
  15. sorry theres no midi support in Mac Switch. Its not in Windows Switch either right now, but it will be in the next release (of Windows Switch). Support in Mac Switch is not currently planned - we need to investigate possible ways of doing it, Windows Switch uses DirectX so we obviously cannot use the same code on Mac.
  16. I'm told the fix is done, and a new Mac Switch is up on the net right now. Can everyone please try it and see if its fixed your problems.

    Program Error

we've confirmed it as a bug, thanks for the report.

    Please help

when you say "Windows Media Format" do you really mean .wav (wave) format using the Windows Media codec ? Those codecs are essentially "busted", they simply do not work and you cannot use them. They come with Windows by the way, we don't provide them - I figure MS is more intent on pushing the wma format rather than the WMA .wav codec.
  19. hi, sorry for your troubles, lets see if we can sort it out. Can I please clarify, when you go to do a File -> Save As for your file, when the save window appears, and you expand the "Save as type" pulldown list, are you saying there is no .mp3 option there? These are the options I have in my pulldown list (using WavePad Master's Edition): [in order] .wav .mp3 .ogg .aif / .aiff .au .flac .aac .m4a .gsm .vox .raw .rss .m3u .pls .wpl .amr Can you please tell me what your list says? If you are interested in creating podcast content, we added the .rss format in that list just for people like yourself. RSS is the format used for podcasts, it consists of a .rss file and a .mp3 file. If you save to that format in Wavepad, you will get a window asking you for the Root URL of the server you will upload the podcast to, and also what MP3 settings to use. For the Root URL, specify the URL folder you are uploading to. For example, if you are uploading the file to "http://www.podcasts.com/kathe/" , then specify exactly that as the Root URL. After you press OK, Wavepad will create a .rss and .mp3 file in your selected destination folder, and all you need to do is upload them to e.g. "http://www.podcasts.com/kathe/" and link to the .rss file somewhere.
  20. some of Wavepad's more basic effects will also be put into the next Switch, such as normalize, amplify etc. You can wait for that if you like.
  21. what version of Wavepad are you using ? 3.05 ? If you're using that version and nothing ever happens, then I will try some tests myself and see what's going on.
  22. if you try to play it in another product like Switch (www.nch.com.au/switch), do you have similar problems?
  23. does it happen with all audio files ? or just one ? how does it work on another computer ?
  24. the ability of reduce vocals to work depends entirely on the production quality of the original track. we look for the vocals being equally present in the left and right channels, which is traditionally how tracks have been mastered in the past. but not all tracks these days (e.g. top 40 music) are mastered like that, in which case reduce vocals won't really work in these specific cases.
