  1. Higher video tracks will overlay lower numbered tracks, so in your case the slides on track two will be seen only if their opacity is above zero. At 50% you would see both tracks one and two, equally. At 100% only track two. Place the slides where desired on track two, then click the FX icon in one of the slide's clips on the timeline. Click the green + and click on TRANSPARENCY. Set keyframes that approximate what is seen in the image here. Each dot (keyframe) can be dragged right/left, to change the fade up/out timing, and up/down to change opacity. For more on keyframes check out this article.
  2. Here is 4.05. Give it a try, per Sam Zhang's suggestion. The file will be available for a short time only.
  3. Since you're in a mood for testing, grab the REVO uninstaller fully functional trial and deep clean all remnants of VP, then reinstall it. Won't hurt, may help.
  4. Check out the ZOOM, SCALE and CROP effects. One or a combo or those should achieve your desired result. Click the FX icon in the clip on the time line to bring up the EFX box. Click the large green + at the top/left to choose an effect. Or use the VIDEO EFFECTS item in the menu bar.
  5. No, just the video or image file that has the text - that you dropped into VP and attempted to zoom and pan. Make it publicly viewable on the server so folks can access it.
  6. Please upload the original graphic to Dropbox, Google DRIVE, Microsoft OneDrive or the like and link it here.
  7. What version of VP? The latest is here. If possible, please put the transparent graphic up on Dropbox, Google DRIVE, Windows OneDrive, etc. and link it here, so others can test it.
  8. Under the middle of the preview window the clip length is shown. Click on that time and change it as desired. This won't affect the length of other clips.
  9. Click the green + (top-left), choose ZOOM or CROP and create that effect. Then click the green + again and choose POSITION. Click the 3-lined icon that's just to the right of the word "horizontal" and click RESET. (Or click the squiqqly-line that just to the right of the 3-lined box. A solid vertical line should appear to the right.) Move the red-lined scrubber that's in the graph all the way to the left. Position the mouse pointer in the PREVIEW window and it will become a double-arrow cross. Hold down the left mouse button and drag your image off-screen to the left. Click the small green + sign in the menu bar, just above the graph area. This sets the starting position keyframe. Now position the scrubber all the way to the right in the graph area. Again using the mouse pointer in the PREVIEW window, drag the image off-screen to the right. That should create the end position keyframe. If not, just click the smaller green + again. In lieu of dragging the preview image, you can move the sliders or even drag the keyframe dots that are in the effect box. This is approximately what the graph should display...
  10. One - or both. A frame is one-thirtieth of a second. In other words, there are 30-frames/sec. for NTSC (US) video. Also, be certain that you are typing the numbers correctly, into the length box. The many Zeroes can be confusing.
  11. Perhaps because there is insufficient content length in the clips to complete the effect. For example, for a one-second crossfade, the effect begins at 15-frames into the FROM clip and ends 15-frames into the TO clip, and that one-second must be free of other transitions.
  12. Don't trim using the red/blue brackets under clip preview. Drag the left or right margin of the clip as it appears in the time line, while holding down <ctrl>. Or use the first method mentioned above.
  13. In lieu of first creating a video file... with your project on the time line, click EXPORT|DVD MOVIE and burn to disc. That succeeded here, with a one-minute movie, using default export values in VP 4.45 for Windows. An Mp4 video file was also loaded to the time line, then exported. That completed too, very slowly, but better results might be had with a DVD burning program. NCH Express Burn.
  14. Perhaps. Under the middle of the preview window the clip length is shown. Click on that time and change it as desired. This won't affect the length of other clips. Or drag a clip's border while holding down the <ctrl> key.
  15. Sounds reasonable. You are aware that the windows can be sized, by dragging their borders.
  16. You also tried "dual windows" - under the VIEW menu?
  17. The "lock" icon to the left of the audio track should lock ONLY that track. Does here. Then, video can be tweaked without affecting audio.
  18. If you haven't done so already, upgrade to this NVidia video driver. It is appropriate for both 32- and 64-bit systems and may affect the behavior you are seeing. If problems arise, roll back to the prior driver via CONTROL PANEL|DEVICE MGR|VIDEO ADAPTERS|<your adapter name>|DRIVERS tab.
  19. Wikipedia notes that "MPEG-4 Part 14 or MP4 is a digital multimedia container format most commonly used to store video and audio," Thus, the encoding that VP created, unlike that of the other software, may not be supported by the BR DVD player. Right-click on a file that plays on the DVD. Click PROPERTIES|DETAILS|VIDEO and see if you can spot the encoding used. Or use this tool. Then, In VP, export with THAT encoding, or simply test the other choice that's offered when the ENCODING OPTIONS box is clicked. Also try MPG (DVD standard) file format.
  20. Testing both scenarios here, with VP and a competing product that does it your way, I'll chime in and cast a vote for having the video IN the effects window, where not only keyframes can be constructed but the result can be seen. In the end it's likely a matter of familiarity and personal preference, with the same results.
  21. You could test both options - CROP or RESIZE - to see if that achieves the desired effect. Under the OPTIONS|GENERAL menu you can set the preview window to closely match the export resolution/aspect ratio. Then export should mirror the preview display, and the message you cited won't appear. Before exporting, SCALE and CROP effects can be utilized to eliminate borders.
  22. What resolution did you select? There are many. Also try other output types, other than .mov. An image whose aspect ratio or size isn't the same as the viewer screen may have black bars at top and bottom, or a frame. Check the viewer's options. Some allow aspect ratio and size to be changed.
