  1. Did you try <ctrl-V> or <shift-insert> ?
  2. Is this the licensed, latest version? Have you done the following? Options->General->Under cache field there is a button named 'Clear cache'. Click it and then press 'Ok'
  3. You can do this, Nat. But if the ADD TEXT box background color is the same as the font color it won't be seen. Change it to white.
  4. The link in my previous post leads to a thread that covers the procedure.
  5. See this thread. You can also select and copy <ctrl-C> single or multiple clips, then create a new sequence and paste <ctrl-V> the clips into it. Then export the new sequence.
  6. This applies to the current version... Drag the red line the point where you want to drop in the new shot. To locate the exact margin between two clips use the "edge" buttons - ||< >|| They're under the viewer window. Select the clip to be inserted, then click the small arrow to the right of the PLACE icon (or to the right of the green downward-pointing arrow in the media area) and make your choice.
  7. Upload the image that you are keying to Google Drive, Dropbox, One Drive or the like and post the publicly accessible URL here. Someone will check it out.
  8. They're still there, Olivia. In fact, the chroma key options have been expanded. Try Threshold and Fading.
  9. That's the window for plotting keyframes. i.e.: animating. Check this out.
  10. You can. Click the SEQUENCE tab above the viewer window. Or click the VIEW menu and enable the split (dual) view, where preview is the window at the left and sequence is at the right.
  11. If I understand your query, subtitles are indeed "embedded" into the video by VP. As such, they become an integral element of the video and cannot be turned off in a player.
  12. Create a new sequence and drop all other sequences into it - in the order desired. Then export THAT sequence.
  13. Though VP's preview couldn't handle it, the following method succeeded when the original 15" clip was exported (produced)... 1. COPY <ctrl-C> the clip 2. Create segment 2 3 PASTE <ctrl-V> the clip 4. speed it up 5. return to segment 1 and delete the original 6. drag the clip from segment 2 to segment 1 7. speed it up
  14. Your query was read carefully. Each title must fit a specific scene or voicing - which varies in length. From NCH FAQs: Can I add subtitles using VideoPad? Yes, you can add your own subtitles manually or add a subtitle file, in .ssa format, to the video project. To add subtitles manually, follow these steps. After adding your video to the sequence, click the Subtitles button on the Home tab toolbar Type the subtitle text in the white box at the bottom of the window Select the correct portion of the video using the preview window at the top of the window Adjust the length using the "Show" and "Hide" times or the red and blue arrows under the preview Add additional subtitles by clicking the Add Subtitle button and repeating Steps 1-4 To add an existing subtitle file, click the Load SSA button on the Subtitles Window toolbar. For more detailed information, please view the tutorial at http://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/subtitles.html.
  15. Experiment with something along these lines... Speed up the desired clip, then select (highlight) it and press <ctrl-C> to copy it. Click the + sign that's in the sequence tab, to create a new sequence, then <ctrl-V> to paste there. Increase the speed on sequence two, then switch to sequence one in the media window. Drop sequence two into sequence one.
  16. Don't spot a preset value there, but the length of each subtitle can be adjusted via the red and blue IN and OUT buttons.
  17. In Videopad, does it play with video and audio? Can you upload the file to a public server, so folks can take a look? Post the URL here.
  18. Try Notepad ++ for composing text. Look for the split-line feature.

    Fade in?

In recent VP versions, FADE IN is readily available from within the clip without resorting to tricks.
  20. Choose a sequence from the sequence tabs that are just above the time line. EXPORT. If you want just a portion of the sequence, select (highlight) the sequence, then in the PV window set IN/OUT marks... Drag the red line to where you want to begin and click the [ START button, beneath the preview window. Drag the line to where you want the segment to end and click the ] END button. Export.
  21. This may be an issue of inserting carriage returns in Notepad text. Count out about 54 characters, then size the window to fit. When text nears the right border, press <enter> to jump to the next line. Paste the text into Videopad. The size, font and positioning can be changed there, to suit the project. Here's a sample insertion.

    Fade in?

Best to start a new thread. But now that we are here... Effects (including crossfade) are normally applied where clips abut - to effect from one to the other. An effect within an existing clip could be made by first creating a split point inside the clip, then applying an effect at that split. With a non-linear (NL) editor, such as Videopad, there's never a need to start over. One might think of it as a word processor for video/audio.
  23. 1. Click in the timeline where you want the video excision to begin. (The timeline is just to the right of the word "storyboard.") Click the small arrow to the right of the SPLIT icon, which is under the preview window. Choose to SPLIT ALL VIDEO TRACKS, or specify the one you want. 2. Click in the timeline where you want the video excision to end and do the same. 3. Select the video clip that was just created - between these two points - and hit the DELETE key, or right-click|DELETE. Or, if it's easier for you, you can first right-click the video or audio track and choose to UNLINK it. Then right-click the video track and SPLIT SELECTED CLIPS. Portions of the audio track can be removed in the same manner. If you make a mistake, press <ctrl-Z> (EDIT|UNDO) immediately to undo the last change. The buffer holds many changes. SAVE AS frequently, incrementing the file # so earlier versions won't be overwritten.
